Hey, Eric! you wanna chill?
Can't today Foster, I got the chicken pox.
Oh. Are you itchy?
Heck yeah! the virus creates a rash of blister like lesions too. It SUCKS!
So.. Can we still hang?
NO! If you did you would catch it too. And once you get it, its in your body forever. You could even get it again when your older. Only its called "Shingles." So no dude we can't hang out.

Why not? It can't be that bad.
BECAUSE the virus effects you body cells in a lysogenic fashion, where the virus puts some of its own DNA into the cell's DNA, so the body doesn't recognized it, the body produces more viral cells.
Oh. Thats interesting. So, how do you get rid of it?
You could always get a vaccine, but there are other ways the body gets rid of viruses. There is the Immune Response, Humoral Response and the Cell-Mediated Response.
Oh, I see. So how are you feeling?
Well, i have a fever, which is the body's non-specific Immune Response, because the immune system raises the body temperature as a reaction to try and get rid of the invasion.

What about that Human Response?
It's Humoral! When the virus gets passed the 1st and 2nd line of defence it causes the Humoral Response to kick in. Antibodies and other protein structures are in charge of the response.
Its kinda werid. My body would fight the chicken pox differently then Eric's would, because our bodies arn't the same.
The antibodies, that are produced by B-cells, tag and neutralize the invading cells. Marking them for MASS destruction.
Are you even listening to a word I'm saying?
. . . Yeah. . . So what about the Cell-Meditating Response that you mentioned? Do the cells start humming?

WHAT?! Foster, that makes no sense! . . Anyway, the body uses Cell- MEDIATED Response when the virus enters the 1st and 2nd line of defense.
. . .So they Don't meditate? I'm confused.
So Eric, what does the virus look like?
Well Foster, the virus isn't living, and you can't see it with you eye alone. but it looks like this under a microscope.
The virus usually lasts about a week. but it really depends on the infected persons immune system.
So viruses attack the body right? and your body fights them off. So in a way you body is kinda like a . . . Ninja. right?

Have you been paying any attention? i have the Chicken pox!
Haha. i won't catch it. I'm not turning into a chicken anytim--
See? I told you not to come over.
Cluck Cluck!!!!
