I just thought of something that might be neat to look at. It doesn't have much value aside from the curiosity factor, but since we're all geeks we'd probably appreciate it.

How 'bout tossing together a script that will give you a list of the most frequently used characters in comic creation? Or do you already have something like that? If you do, what are they? How bout some nice graphs or something?

It's not like you've got anything better to do, I'm sure.

I was thinking about the idea of having a "currently online" thing, and the many difficulties associated with it. Hey, Brad, how about a little "posted in the past hour" page, linked to from the forums, and a line saying "x users posted in the past hour" on the main forum index?

Drexle, we all want ponies, but sometimes you can't have what you want, things cost money, and unless you're a millionaire, like Gabe, it's hard to get money for the pony. Then you start locking it up, and then the RSPCA complain about your cruelty to an animal, and unless you're a millionaire, like Gabe, you won't be able to bribe them, and get locked up yourself. So in closing, get a gerbil instead.

Gerbils are pretty difficult to look after. My sister used to have one, and they make surprisingly great demands on your time. Gerbils should stay in the wild or in parks.

As long as it counts towards saving the world, I have no problem with freezing gerbils, frying them, or vacuming them up.

That's because the gerbil (or was it a hamster?) would have drowned in the portaloo, so you needed to freeze it for a few centuries, then thaw it in the microwave (and put a little sweater on it, too).

The thing that always confused me was, when you were playing as Hoagie, if you shut the door to the freezer, when you went to Laverne in the future (was that her name?) it had closed, however, if you got Laverne to open it and switched back to Hoagie, the freezer had opened again.

Sorry, I played that game like 4 or 5 times.

I'm not sure... I never really played to THAT extent...

On the other hand I just beat Castle of the Winds II again... After retriving the Helm of Storms from the Demon Lord Surter, I didn't return it, but instead continued to play through the levels of the dungeon, killing all the monsters and collecting all items. I delt with the Abyess Fiends by using a Wand of Transmogify Monster and that used turned them into an animated marble statue. I managed to get my experiance level to 12 because I ran across a few of the Draught of Gain Level things, and I also bought as many of the best types of equipment I could. Some interesting ones were a sword that was enchanted to restore my mana when activated every 12 hours , and an axe that would restore my health the same way. By the time I was done, there were absolutely no monsters left in any of the 25 levels, though I think they may spawn if I leave it for long enough.

Last week I replayed Deus Ex on a better machine... the graphics were great. I'm not sure what I'll play now... though I would like to get a copy of either Return to Castle Wolfenstien or Max Payne. I havn't gotten a "new" game since Tribes though.

Oh yes, an AWSOME game that will be coming out is Star Wars Galaxies. Anyone hear of it? It's a massive multiplayer RPG like everquest and UO... I know I have to stay away from it otherwise I'll wind up like that guy in the news.

Get Dungeon Siege.

Bec downloaded the demo on a friend's recommendation.

She played it through and, despite the fact that it is a long demo for this day and age, finished it in a single 4+ hour session. Bec never plays computer games for four straight hours (well, except a few times with The Sims). I got onto it, and finished it in two sessions - total game time a bit over five hours. Then we installed it on the other PC and played it through again as multiplayer. Now Bec has started playing the single-player again on a higher difficulty level. That's close to twenty man-hours of entertainment out of a (hug, admittedly) demo. Pay day Thursday. Dungeon Siege session Thursday night.

Dungeon Siege looks awsome. I read a review in PC gamer and they said that its gonna have 3 worlds to play... instead of just the first origional one, you can move onto the second, harder adventure, and then they have a third world that's like 75% dungeon and less outdoors.

Some times it bugs me because my dad really doesn't like me playing RPG's... the one type of game i couldn't play.

However that may change when I am older and still a loser gamer.

Then again, I am the kind of person that would give up their life playing games. If I get away with it, I can spend 5+ hours playing games days in a row. I'm trying to recover now.

Today's demo's really piss me off. It used to be that there was such a thing as shareware- you got the entire first episode of a game for free, and if you liked it(which often people did) you'd want to finish the story, so you'd spend the money for the other 1-5 episodes. Now they give you a crappy set of levels that are usualy all buggy and you can't continue your progress from the demo into the registered game without starting a new game. You know what I mean? And then there's the programs that once you get, you find that they work on EVERYONE else's system but yours(though this problem was more frequent in older days). If you get a game that doesn't work, what do you do?
Download new drivers.
Look for a patch.
Re-install the game.
Wait on hold for tech support.
Finaly you bring it back for a refund to by the Add-on for a better game that you already have.
