I was listening to the radio last night and forced myself to sit through at least three songs. I will name them here:

AFI - Silver & Cold
Story of the Year - Until the Day I Die
Living End - Who's Gonna Save Us?

I felt progressively more nauseous after each song. How the hell does such garbage become so fucking popular? When is Mallpunk going to die? Every time I think the influx of Good Charlottes and Newfound Glorys are petering off, new shit gets vomited out into my ear. It seems like I have to sit through two hours of this pure feces to get to Korn, Perfect Circle, Tool, Linkin Park, and even some mediocre shit like Audioslave and Nickelback.

Well, I hate the new AFI. The Boy Who Destroyed the World was an awesome song, but all their new stuff (with the exception of Girl's Not Grey) sucks. I went out and bought the cd, but i was so disappointed. The Living End grows on you sort of, like a foot fungus.

On another note, UnknownEric speaks the truth. 75% of today's music scene sucks my left nut. They shouldn't be allowed to touch the classics, especially one like The Cure's "Love Song". And for the record: I truly believe that 311, the dumbfucks who remade "Love Song", are the worst band ever. Flame if you wish, but these guys just go around ruining music for everyone. They are an embarrassment to Rock and Reggae.

PS: AFI's new stuff is really good. They went deeper than being a cliché punk-sk8-hardcore band. Some people just dont have an open mind, or possibly the brainpower to understand any song that doesnt have the word "Fuck" nowadays.

It's grime time.

While I hate bands like Good Charlotte (bands who destroy the name of music), I only dislike the bands like AFI. The difference is that AFI has talent in their genre as compared to Good Charlotte. AFI has deep lyrics IMO. That's one of the things I love about black metal(AFI is not black metal, I know)...no one ever checks the lyrics. Its not always god-hating bullshit. Like heres a passage from a recent song I've been listening to: (This speaks out to me at least)

Lay thorns on my grave (Ironic it is that that was Emperor's last song...)

Also, my tastes in music change frequently. Usually every week in a half or so. So right now, my 5 song playlist is:

Seriously, other than the occasional release on Matinee Records (and of course the new Morrissey album, which I'll buy even if it sucks), I don't buy modern stuff. I've been digging into the classics (and pseudo-classics) for a couple years now. I just lost interest in the music I was hearing from now. I'm sure the interest will come back eventually, but...
