I am quite happy to be wrong. Portugal have been fairly shit so far and I had no hope that they would even contend with England. My dad even phoned around the 70th minute to say that he didn't see them scoring. Thankfully both of us were wrong, as is the way with football.

Okay, so they had a goal crossed off, I could probably on some level agree that it should have been allowed, but only if you stripped me of the fact that I'm Scottish.

They lost because they were the second best team on the field tonight, they lost because they deserved to, and hopefully the needless killing that happens in Portugal tonight will be punished properly and we wont see an England side even trying to qualify for Euro 2008.

The England supporters are the biggest disgrace to football, always have been and it would seem that they alway will be.

Can't argue with that. I deliberately stayed out of the pub; the atmosphere was ugly after France. There were riots in Thetford. Bloody hell. RIOTS. Over a freaking game of football!

And apparently the goal was disallowed for a push on a defender and the whistle had gone as Campbell, Terry and the cocky shite who scored the winning penalty jumped for the ball, but doubtless the whinging will continue for a few days yet.

I watched the England-Portugal match with an extraordinarily level-headed English business associate on a bar in Copenhagen with mostly English patrons. They were all quite enthusiastic, but everyone were quiet and caused no problems at all when the match was finally over.

As my English guest said before the match "The best team deserves to win, but I hope we will win instead".

Can't realy blame Beckham for missing, the penalty spot was terrible looking. Holland vs Sweeden game was shit enough. I was glad to see Holland win on penalties seeing as they've lost their last four penaltie shoot outs.

It really was the most boring game I can remember watching. It ended up with me counting down the seconds until the pain was over, I felt as if I was in an endurance race in the end.

I would say I was upset that Sweden went out, the thought of either Portugal or Holland being in the final stinks, but Sweden were just awful yesterday.

Denmark played well in most of the first half, but the Czech once again showed that they don't fear anyone. I think they'll win this tournament.

I just wish they didn't have to give us that slap in the face. 3-0 is tough to get over.

Denmark should have been more effective in the first half when they could have been, I'll miss them. I hope they qualify for Germany 2006.

Gronkjaer's dive was awful, yes. But so have half the things that have been given, that dive wasn't any worse than any other dive. Sure, it was more blantant than some, but that doesn't make it anymore stupid than the "discrete" ones.

Well the final is tomorrow. It's been an excellent tournament. I think Greece may just sneak this one since they've worked hella hard and have already beaten Portugal, but I want Portugal to all click and reduce the Greeks to tears with stepovers and drag-backs.

Also, I am wholly disappointed with the Czechs. One player does NOT make a team, but when Nedved weent off, it was as if the rest of them decided they weren't allowed to play.

I'll be at a wedding reception when the final is on - should be interesting.

So that's it. Bit of an anticlimax, but then again, I didn't see any of the last games.

Just goes to show you that unlike the Premier Legue or any other domestic competition, any team that has First division* rejects, but some guts and incredible coaching, can win a major tournament.
