What does this "bluelight" mean anyway? I'm not familiar with K-Mart and it's myriad of joys.

Bluelight is as in Bluelight special. For some reason, K-Mart uses a bluelight to gain attention to an item which is marked down for one day, when the rest of the things (our uniforms, flatbeds, ect.) are red. And I was mistaken, only certain people get the "Bluelight Always" nametags. Mine says "Customers Rule!" Shitty.

I really despair at the happy-clappy atmosphere they try to have in US stores. I remember reading about the "Wal-mart Wiggle" and shite like that. The store I used to work in was notorious in the company for the visible contempt we had for most of the customers, but they kept showing us videos from head office of the american branches, staffed by grinning lobotomised "How can I help you- have a nice day!" style automatons. If they tried to get us to wear "Customers Rule!" badges the management would probably get lynched, or at the very least the badges would be vandalised/destroyed.

It would take only a little bit of work to change "Customers Rule" to "Customers Puke!"

I have a green McDonalds badge , which i kept from when i was working for them 7 years ago.

You got stars for performance. I always thought this was a lame concept , so i stuck stars on mine anyway , and wandered around for 4 days before anyone in management cottoned on.

And during those 4 days , the respect i recieved was greatly increased. Until they realised you cant get stars on a green badge , as its a training badge.

Why do you think I haven't been to my job at K-Mart in two days. Oh yeah, I had them off. Anyway, I enjoy working. It's much better than daytime TV and gives me something to complain about to my non-working friends. They get fearful of jobs and then continue to live off mommy and daddy and therefore I have something else to make them fearful of: The at-home 35 effect. This is where you've never had a job (jobs are things where you go in regularly, not seasonally, and get paid on a certain day every week/two weeks, according to me), never been further than 50 miles from your house without your parents, and your parents still won't allow your girlfriends in your room (mostly because they're still teenagers and, well, you're not). In conclusion, I like the K-Mart Cheer because it gives me a chance to show my stuff to people who have never been to one of the Flames hockey games. I was such a cool cheerleader.

I can not even get fired correctly. They said they were going to fire me about two weeks ago and yesterday Paul, my manager, pulled me aside to offer me a promotion. Can't I do anything right?

My boss, Paul, actually was playing tricks on me the entire day of my 3 month anniversary. He even covered my eyes and said guess who. And he bought me a present, which was way cool :)
