Boy, for a bunch of lovey-dovey people, christians sure hate Satan a lot.
Satan loved God, wanted to be like God. Satan tried to be like God once and God cast him into the pits of hell.
Man loved God, man ate an apple and became intelligent, which brought him to a higher level, closer to being like God, but still not as good as the angels. Later, man built a tower to be with God sooner, and god destroyed the tower, and made the people speak in hundreds of different tongues. Man's still on earth, has a chance to get out of being thrown into hell, but poor ol' Scratch only got one chance, and blew it with hero worship. Some have said Satan's only crime was that he attempted to become enlightened, and better himself. To me, the bible is one big anti-settlement protest. Look at all the villains and bad guys in the Bible. The good guys are the ones who wander around in tribes, and never settle, the bad ones are the ones who've settled. Even the good guys turn evil when they settle. It seems God hates society more than he hates homosexuals. It does explain a lot if you think about it that way. Why he destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah for one, and if you take Cain and Abel as groups of people (Settlers and wanderers), it makes pure sense...
That's my take on it, take it or leave it. ;)
