First a small speech - Thanks for the win!

Right on with the show. Next tuesday is Shrove Tuesday in most parts of the world. This means Pancakes will be feasted on and kittens will be sacrificed. So in coming up with this comp I decided to keep it topical and go for a Shrove Tuesday theme for my part of the bargain. Seemed too obvious.

Anyway there are no rules, other than the first 2 panels remain the same, you do WHATEVER you want to finish the comic in the third (other than photoshopping).

Let's roll...

212998

And I will judge it next Wednesday Night, the first day of lent (whatever).

Just to add -

Bonus Question!

There is a pancake restaurant in london that I visited a few years back on pancake day. What is it called?

(I doubt its famous but use your skills to track it down)

Also known as Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday). The day before Ash Wednesday, which is 40 days before easter. This 40 days before easter is known as lent, which is where you deprive yourself of something for those said 40 days. So on the tuesday before lent in some parts of the world, you eat pancakes. In other parts, you get drunk and show your boobies to people for beads.

You mean I could have gotten beads!?

Okay, now I want to know where the term "shrove" came from. Is it past tense for shrive? Or is it one of those Latin words that keeps popping up? Or a derivative of another language? (like Easter = Eostre).

Bah. Too many things in my head...

Apparently in years gone by, the people of England used to confess their past sins on Tuesday before the start of lent. Therefore shrove being the past tense of shrive.

They would then feast on the pancakes in the evening after their confessions of foul play and sexual perversions.

Pantastic.

Making pancakes was the best way to get rid of all the butter flour and eggs that the masses would be fattening up on before giving up something for Lent.

The French also did this, but called their celebration "Fat Tuesday" or "Mardi Gras". But then you already knew that.

Shark, it's not your fault. None of the previous FTC threads are loading the images, either. Does anyone know what happened to kaddar? If not, is there anyone with enough free webspace who can host the rules and awards?
