My boyfriend knew all the information surrounding my baby better than I did, let's see if you do too. Without asking your girlfriend, how many of the following questions can you answer? (And I'd also like to know the answers as well)

1. Date and time of birth?

2. Weight?

3. Length?

4. Number of nurses in the delivery room at time of birth?

5. Hours of labor?

6. Breast or Bottle?

7. Number of visitors in entire hospital stay?

The last one is only important because my son and I both made records at the hospitals we were born at for "most visited".

No, but seriously, it certainly has a lot more power when a white man uses it to describe a black man than vice versa. I find the odd use of the word and the word used in certain jokes to be pretty funny, but it most certainly is exclusively a black thing.

Just because whiteys use it now and black people refer to each other with it does not erase the horrendous things done in America to the black people under the umbrella of that label.

Keep in mind, I am not calling dcom a racist, because I don't think he is. I generally get what he's trying to say. But I don't agree that it's not exclusively a black thing. Calling a white guy a nigger won't do anything to him unless he's a white supremacist. But a white man can not go up to a black man and say, "What's up, nigger?".

So if I was to say I was a Gay Nigger From Outer Space, I am not neceserally saying I am black or referencing black at all. Though that is what I meant since I stole it from the film "Gay Niggers From Outter Space", which is about gay black space guys.

It may hold different meanings for different people, but I say it is exclusively a black thing because no one but a black person has any right to be offended by hearing that.
