For the winter, I'm driving an 02 Ford Explorer, but for the Summer my dad bought me a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 that I'm planning to soup up. My dream car is probably a Ford Mustang GT 500E, one of those Carrol Shelby specials.

I hate you.

I drive a 1994 Geo Metro (standard) hatchback with 3 cylinders, no air conditioning, and a tape player that only works on alternate Thursdays. Even the radio has crapped out.

Before that, I drove a 1990 Toyota Tercel (standard) hatchback that was so abused, by the time I got to it, it drank a quart of oil for every 300 miles, stalled randomly, and was going to cost $4000 in repairs.

Before that, I drove a 1980 Toyota Corolla (standard) hatchback that had been rolled and crashed a bazillion times by my mom, the body was literally falling apart around me. The seats were shredded, the AC blew only dust, the body was dented and various shades of pumpkin pie. Eventually it was sold for scrap, not because the engine died, but because the brakes had rusted shut and rates ate the wires while I was away at college. The engine was still perfect. Other than a slave cylinder and alternator, it's never needed anything more than an oil change (which I do myself).

God I miss that car.

Oh yeah...I hate you.

And my dream car is a 57 Nash Metropolitan convertible in seafoam green.

Your Dad bought you a new car...you bastard...other than the Corolla which was handed to me because Mom had other cars by then, I've paid for all mine. The Corolla was 16 years old when I started driving it. The Tercel was 10, and the Geo was 8.

You bastard...

*goes to stare wistfully at cars that can go faster than 35 up hills*

I bought all my cars myself. My first was a

1985 Firebird...it was about a year-and-a-half old, and I got it off a guy who needed money quick for some reason. My parents put up half the money since they felt guilty for moving me to a new state before my senior year, but I had to pay them back.

My second car, I bought new and drove the hell out of. It was a

1991 S10 Blazer. I had a few company cars during the time I owned the Blazer but I kept it because it was handy and I liked driving it. (I won't count the company cars, but they were a 1994 Buick Skylark GT--yes, GT--and a 1995 Taurus, which was such a pussy going up hills, I referred to it as the Cli-taurus.) I'm glad I kept the Blazer, because I was too poor to buy a new car when I quit my last company car job.

I sold it in 2000 and bought my parent's 97 Bonneville. Yeah, I looked like a pimp.

It had the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in in a car, because they were adjustable 9 different ways. The panel for all the seat adjustments looked like it was designed by NASA.

Now I own a 2004 Saab 9-3.

I like it.

My dad owns a car dealership (Ford), so my present car is:

2003 Ford Explorer in that color

Some of the nicest cars I've driven:

2004 Mach 1 in Azure Blue, 5 speed manual

2003 Red Focus SVT, 6 speed manual

And if I get straight A's by the spring:

mwahahahahaha!

First car: '74 Plymouth Valiant. "Shitbox Dodge" indeed. I miss that car.

2nd car: '81 Toyota Corona. Sold for $800 in 1994 with about 220k miles on it.

3rd car: Plain white 1992 Toyota pickup, std, plain white cap on back. Could park it anywhere and people would assume it was the HVAC guy or whatever.

Two old Econoline vans in there somewhere. Band wagons. Last one threw a rod through the engine block in 1996. Total loss, like everything about that band.

Now: 1993 Toyota Corolla Wagon. Had 30k-something on the odometer when I got it a few years ago. Now over 100k.

Dream car: '68 S/S Barracuda, 426 Hemi. Failing that, '68 Dart, same engine. Pass anything but a gas station.

My first car was an '86 Dodge Diplomat affectionately known as the Brown Buffalo. It could comfortably hold at least 8. HUGE fucking car. Never broke down on me once.

My current car is a '92 Mercury Grand Marquis, white. LS. Big pimpin' yo... or at least big elderly-liking in. It was a hand-me-down. Can't say no to a free car.

I drive a 98 Mercury Mystique, which was finally paid off in May. Only 71K miles on it too. Before that I had a 80 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Those are the only two cars I've had in the last 9 years.

Before that, however, it seemed like I went through at least 1 or 2 cars a year. My first car was the only one ever bought for me, a 78 sky blue (eww) Ford Pinto (double eww), which caught fire in my parents driveway when I was 18.

Other cars I've owned, almost all of which cost less than $1000 :
80 Chevy Malibu
76 Ford Gran Torino - Landbarge on wheels.
84 Ford Escort
80 Chev Monte Carlo - My favorite car, old but reliable, no rust, clean, and drove like a dream. This car was used to jumpstart 3 cars (including a brand new Ford pickup) one morning in February 1994 when the temp was -28 F.
85 Olds Cutlass Ciera 4 door - This is the car my ex talked me into trading in the Monte Carlo for. She said we needed a "family car".
79 Chev Camaro
83 Olds Delta 88
90 Geo Metro - One word describes this car...yuck.

I know I'm forgetting at least one or two.
