MIRA SORVINO RETRACTS "BAD JOKE"

Film star Mira Sorvino thought it would be funny to kid an interviewer who asked her what she thought about child pornography last Friday.
"Child porn is nothing new to me," she said with a mock-solemn expression. "My father [actor Paul Sorvino of "Goodfellas" fame] had sex with me at least fifty times before my sixteenth birthday."

In the aftermath of her tasteless "joke" Ms. Sorvino has found it necessary to scramble to perform damage control for both her and her father's careers.
"I meant it as a joke, nothing more," she told Katie Couric on "The Today Show" Monday morning. "I didn't realize it was such a sensitive subject, and had no idea that people would get their panties in such a huge bunch."
Lisa Kudrow, Sorvino's friend and co-star in the film "Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion", had this to say yesterday about the controversy: "I don't see what the big deal is. Mira's father had sex with me about fifty times, too, and sometimes it was a three-way with him and Mira." After relaying this shocking revelation, Kudrow then giggled and said, "Psyche!!! Just kidding!!!"
Paul Sorvino has yet to be reached for comment.
