I have just begun this new strip which is about a fictional morning TV show I have just made up. Check it out and tell me how much it sucks, or whatever.

IMO, these strips overall

a) feel forced to the point of being not amusing
b) overexplain things to the point of being not amusing
c) have deliveries that are boring or just don't work out

I so far only found one strip amusing, that being Ichi 8, and only the last two panels of that. Considering the number that have been released, it's not a good ratio of smirkworthy to unsmirkworthy.

(And no, the above isn't multiple choice.)

Yeah... see, I'm trying to pretend this thread is a forum for the TV show that I'm pretending my strip is. It'd be nice if anyone who reads my comix could pretend to be viewers of the show. But whatever, this is good stuff, I can use this... I'll be working stuff about the responses here into the show/strip.... thanks.

You know, usually I feel honored to be mentioned by someone else. However, in the case of this strip, I feel violated, and I don't mean violated in an amusing, feel good, TOBOR kind of violation.

I request that from this day on you never use any comments I have made (up to and including this one) in your strip, and I will reciprocate by not commenting about how lackluster, tedious, and boring of a read your comics are.

I just made a strip but didn't save it, because I was just making a banner for my discussion board... so the only way folks can see it is by coming to Volcano Mountain's Artists' Studio forum... not that anyone here would bother, since you all hate my strip anyway... but I'm a glutton for punishment, so I thought I might as well mention it.

I just drank half a bottle of whisky in an hour. And your comics still look shit.

I liked my comic when I started it. Then I think it went downhill for awhile, when I was trying to incorporate stuff from this forum. And even after I quit doing that, I was only half-hearted about doing the comic, and I think it was still suffering. But now it's back on track, I'm happy with it again. I do need to try to work on it less often, though. You all may continue to hate it, and so shouldn't read it. I have a few readers who like it, though they haven't posted here.

Well, I need to rename the comic in the next month or so. I'd welcome any input from anyone who doesn't hate the comic...

the 4-part "Chatting" is the best thing I've ever done in this strip. Okay, only the last two parts of it are any good, but still... the rest is like, part of the set up, or something.

Just what you've all been waiting for! The show, which was cancelled over a month ago, is now back, it's gone national, and been renamed "Nanika atta, America?!" So far it sucks as much as ever, but it might get better...

I read the first few, and was going to read more until I saw how many there were. I was shocked. Why? Why so many for something so...bland? Why? Why why why?

Well, I do what I can... I think more people would like my comics if they really were a TV show, as I like to pretend they are... with real people... although then I wouldn't have the subtext of Benny and Momoiro knowing they're not real, and Benny secretly resenting me for being real....

You know, it sounds cute! but seriously the anime community overall has become severely Gay! I mean that litterally! I cannot walk into a con without hundreds of guys grabbing each others priveys under sailor scout uniforms and making out all over the floors!

And im from Texas which is a very conservative state! I could see it happening in California!

Well, I've never had a chance to go to any kind of convention, anime or otherwise. But I'm straight, and I love anime. Although I've never seen yaoi or yuri...

In any event, there are jokes in my comics. Sometimes they're subtle, and may go unnoticed. Sometimes they're just plain lame, but I like them anyway. Sometimes, though, I do want there to be jokes, where there aren't any. But I think it's more about banter between the cohosts, and banter always works better on TV talk shows than in comics. So I think the comics work better if you don't read them as comics, but as a TV talk show. Of course, not everyone enjoys banter on talk shows, and so they wouldn't like these comics. I often find banter annoying, but I generally enjoy the banter that I write in my comics, so, to each their own....

Well, I will definately change it to thuper in the film version! I am hoping to get it shown on IFC along with a short yaoi scene of Gay Anime Cowboys eating pudding!

however, the reason I am ranting on Yaoi is simply because there was a time when I could go to a con and simply find 1-2 drag queens and get a good laugh out of it! Now the Drag Queens outnumber the men dressed as men about 10 to 1 in most Conventions!

Oh yeah sorry to double post but I forgot to mention the reason that drag queens became so popular was a viscious cycle of "Glomping Fag hag Fangirls" who would follow homosexual fanboys (yes I know... thats a double negative if used that way) around in hordes and worship them like Gods for being so Cute and effeminate (in a yaoi sort of way).

These same girls adopted the same sexual preferances as their Fanboy Dieties (who for some reason call themselves fangirls... and sometimes Rabid Fangirls... ).

How do you spot your average homodiety or Male Fangirl?! So Simple!, Just look around for a spikey haired anorexic guy with glasses being tugged around by a spiked collar by 4-5 female fangirls who probably think the world begins and ends with the boys from fushigi yugi and Gravitation (affectionately named "Rotation" in my previous comic, symbolic of "Sitting and Rotating" probably on an enormous penis shaped sex toy or the real thing)

Now this Homodiety may not claim to be Gay, in fact he may well not be totally homo and even possibly is a Bi Metro.. we know he swings a little over the rainbow no matter what!! 4-5 fangirls at your becon call might sound nice unless you have to watch gay porn with them all day and write "Slash fics"...

Well, somewhere in the midst of all of this! Anime Changed to the vast majority as almost 85% of all Female Anime Fans have slowly compromised any previous moral beliefs to simply obsess over male homosexual sex!! Your average "Female Slash Fan" Lives, and breathes Homosexual intercourse! There is nothing more important to this person! And no matter how much she likes watching guys have sex with each other! she wouldnt touch a guy if she had to! Shes a lesbian! They all are! Like the Male Fangirls they may not admit to it! But believe me! the reason they are always all over their fellow fangirls is simply because they are a couple of lesbians getting ready for some red hot flaming lovin! Oh yeah and there will be the idiot in either group that will step in totally straight trying to fit in! If thats you! Get out!

oh, at gencon i met some folks, mr and mrs hash, who run hash.com, where they sell software for turning your comics into anime. couple hundred bucks. or, get a webcam, $20 at walmart or soemthing better, find a sidekick and webcast your talk show. maybe not this week, but it's something you can plan for.

Well, I would have wondered, would a true otaku even go to a convention if it means leaving the house? Perhaps this is an answer... hmmm. But surely there are a great many straight anime fans who don't even go to conventions, so you can't judge all of fandom by convention-goers. In any event... it's a good thing, I guess, that anime fandom's population doesn't require direct procreation to expand, because anyone can become a fan, or even a full otaku (gay, straight, or bi) regardless of heredity....

well now, it's been quite awhile since I updated my comic. I was going to do so today... but then I switched gears, and instead started a blog for Benny, which I may keep updated alot more often than I do the comic. But it also might inspire me to work on the comic more often...
