They failed to mention that these statistics were gained directly after a soccer game.

No, that's England you're thinking of. Look up "Tartan Army" on Wikipedia, Scotland have won the FIFA fair play award several years in a row for the good conduct of our fans.

Now I'm definitely coming to visit.

Since I'm American, will people assume I have a bazooka in my pants and refrain from assaulting me?

In theory there's nothing stopping me coming to Glasgow tomorrow. Having said that, maybe some kind of notice is more appropriate, so Kajun can barricade his flat and arm the population of Falkirk. I feel I owe him some kind of binge given that we were such pussies in St. Louis. We will speak of this at another time perhaps.

As far as return journeys to the US go, if I left tomorrow for Denver I only pay about $300 return, while booking a year in advance costs about ten times that. Despite this though, the States has not seen the last of Jes.

Oh hell yes, I would if I could - spirit's very willing but the bank balance is weak. There'll be a new "Who wants a visit from" thread posted when I can definitely afford to come over again without being deported or ending up like Tom Hanks in that airport film. Next summer, defo.

Meantime mi casa es tu casa. Except for that Fuj character.

September-October 2006 for me. *sigh*

Wow, it was two years ago almost to the day that I arrived in the US and stayed with Wirthling and Wirthette. *sigh* That was the trip of a lifetime... wirthling, kaufman, evil_d, boorite, pita, bunnerabb, ladyjdotnet, lara7, gabe_billings, and a brief chat on the phone with Drexle.

I really miss you guys. :(

...and DragonXero will kill me if I don't visit him next time.

Anyway, Sept-Oct 2006 for Burning Man in Nevada and the HP Lovecraft Film Fest in Oregon, with Mrs DexX (aka bluebexq) this time around, with side trips all over the fucking place.

Once I get back to the States and get my housing arrnagements straightened out, any SC members are free to stop by so long as I have prior warning and you bring and offering of good alchohol. No American Beer unless you want to be shot on the doorstep.

I would like to mention that those of you who do not drink are exempt from the alcohol tithe, but minty and/or chocolatey foodstuffs are welcome if you still feel obligated to come bearing gifts.

Hell yes. Next time I'm visiting I'll have a couple of kegs of Kronenberg sent over ahead of me to be installed in the nearest bar. Possibly some Tenents aswell, just for the feel of it. You guys probably have Stolichnaya vodka in abundance over there but I'll bring some of that too, even if just to keep in my pocket.

America has great beer these days. You were just shopping in the wrong place. I'd put Pike Pale next to any Brit Isles beer, except maybe Belhaven St Andrews Ale. And Red Hook ESB is widely available.

Palates as fine as Kajun's and Jes's even found the ubiquitous Samuel Adams agreeable.

There's a Beerfest going on in Laramie about now. It's basically a bunch of microbreweries and home brewers getting together to give away free beer.

Doesn't anyone else find it funny that Glasgow is known as "The Friendly City"? Good news concidering i just started University there. Scottish people are normally really friendly, theres just a culture of "Neds".

For those of you who dont know what a Ned is feel very lucky, neds are basically high pitched talking hash smoking buckfast drinking knive wielding arseholes that listen to hardcore techno and hang around on street corners late at night thinking their gang is "pure mental man"

But almost everyone else is pretty decent, even me.......sort of

There's still plenty of jokes left about his Maw though (she wis shite, no' even worth the two gingae boatles ah paid fur her etc etc).
