Did these a loooong long time ago, though I still have the model and a recently reacquired the software so I might be able to do requests for poses if you ask nicely. If anyone cares to play around with these, feel free.

First, the pics...

Oops, missed a couple:

...and the originals, as they currently stand:

...plus some really big high-quality originals in non-web formats:

Jaunty
Prone
Facing camera
Arms out
In bright sun

Have fun, all. Anyone know how common the .3dm file format is? If anyone wants it I will post the original 3D model, which is in that format for Rhino.

Those are awesome, the NYC and Battlezone ones are especially appealing. Also, in true Aussie fashion, when I clicked on the links, the images started appearing from bottom to top instead of the other way round.

Isn't that weird??? It seems to be a .bmp thing.

Who owns the rights to the original Tobor art?

I do a bit of sculpting, and I mould a lot of the stuff I do with Q3481 rubber compound, so I can then cast copies out of plaster or resin.

It'd be fairly easy to make an actual 3-D Tobor, mould it, and turn out a bunch of copies.

He comes from Diesel Sweeties, but the author is quite happy to see Red Robot all over the place. I think he used to run a "sightings" page, documenting appearances around the place.

Wasn't it the Exploding Dog guy who came up with him originally? He personally knows the author of Disel Sweeties, so I think he just let him use it.

I'll send some e-mails away at some point and see what I can do.

In the meantime I made this last night:

I think you're right, rabid. I've seen red robot in a lot of exploding dog comics from forever ago.

You're right. I forgot. *slaps forehead* It was his site that had the sightings page.

Explodingdog also had/has a nifty "Red Robot" shooter game on it. (See if you can spot some familiar locales!)

Also, if I remember correctly, the red robot is basically a gift to the world. Kind of like what Tolkien had planned with Middle-Earth. Everyone jump on and do your own deal with it, sort of thing. A bit of, wossname, memetic dirty-bombing.

And now, 3D Tobor, ready for his debut on Stripcreator:

Actually, I just wanted to see if I could do it. I'm not suggesting that he be put on.
