I was going to start this thread a couple months ago when I saw Stereolab, but I forgot. Tonight, I saw The Lemonheads in an outdoor venue in London (Sommerset House). They were great. The Lemonheads' lineup has been a revolving door and is basically a drummer and bassist playing with Evan Dando, so that's what I saw tonight. Even the ballads rocked--looks like Dando has gotten over whatever was in him when he released his solo album a couple years ago.

Best Song: "Confetti" from It's A Shame About Ray. Second-best might have been "My Drug Buddy."

Best Part: While Dando played solo tracks and new songs, they didn't wait until the end of the show or encores to play hit songs.

Taking Lemons and Making Lemonheads Moment: Dando and the bassist weren't exactly on the same page on the vocals for a cover of Neil Young's "Powderfinger", still, the cover rocked.

Hope for the Future: They played songs from their "forthcoming album." That would be the first new Lemonheads CD since 97, I think.

So that's the last show I saw. Stereolab before that was very good, and Jonathan Richman before that is always great--even if the knuckleheads in the venue do everything they can to spoil a good show.

What was your last show?

Ivy and I saw Son Volt at the Aggie in Ft. Collins.

Awesome.

The sound for the openers blew ass because of where we were sitting. We went and stood behind mix position and everything was better.

Jay Farrar is the groovy.

Gogol Bordello when they came to St. Louis. They put on such a good show, I don't like the CDs anymore.

Don't make fun of me but...

I saw The All American Rejects with my girlfriend two weeks ago at Summerfest. In the past I've seen a bunch of shitty bands (Fallout Boy, Relient K, Panic! At The Disco, etc.) that my friends have dragged me to see with them, but my favorite concert so far has been Ben Kweller.

It's been a long time since I went to a concert. The next-to-last one I saw was Van Halen right after their first album came out. The last one I saw was Devo in the mid-eighties. They were both pretty awesome concerts.

I saw a couple of guys dressed in matching clothing and opposite burgundy hair playing electronica stuff, then another, much less interesting band playing more electronica stuff, then the show got closed down by the cops before the band I went to see got to play.
Teh laem.

He came to my school and played in front of a crowd of probably 200-250. Seems like he only plays at small places across the states. But yeah, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him again.

That concert sounds rockin', choady. As you know, I'm a huge fan (of the band and of choad).

I guess maybe the last concert I saw was Elvis Costello or maybe the Pixies. My brain is fuzzy on which one was last. The highlight of the Elvis show was Emmy Lou Harris coming out and them doing a set with him.

But what's MORE important is who I'm seeing next, and that's Mr Tom Waits. I'm freaking STOKED.

The last show I went to was Sonic Youth. They played a bunch of songs off their weak new album and were generally unexciting.

The last GOOD concert I saw was Helios Creed down in Laramie, WY in early April. Me and my friends drove all the way down there from southern Montana to see Helios and there were only like 4 other people there. It was awesome though. Helios was playing at over 800 asses kicked per second. Almost 30 years playing and he's still space rock's underground overlord.

I didn't remember Laramie was Ivy and the gang's stomping ground though until after we left. I'd have looked you up.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ween in Idaho in a few days, that'll surely rock.

I went to the Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee, which was chock full of really good shows. The Radiohead show was really spectacular, but the secret best show of the festival (featuring dozens and dozens of artists) was this Swedish band called Dungen, whom no one has told that it is no longer the 70s and that hard, jamming, stoner rock is dead.

I also missed a free Flaming Lips show in Philadelphia on Sunday night, which makes me sad.

My last concert had Danzig as the headliner, who still looks about 26 years old through a combination of virgin sacrifice and botox.

Mortiis was there too... I saw him without his elf makeup on. I was scarred for life.

Last concert I saw was Mötley Crüe's Carnival of Sins reunion tour. I wouldn't have gone myself, but my friend is a die-hard Crüe fan. And, hey, boobs!

Before that I saw the DJ Williams Projekt live at Plan 9 (record shop) in Richmond, VA. Liked them so much I bought their CD.

Wish I'd gone to Bonnaroo, but that was the same weekend I went to Atlanta with a couple of buddies to catch the Red Sox at Turner Field. We'd had the trip planned for a long time.
