Me, too. Except I voted for Libertarians.

I'm also sick of this "throwing your vote away" crap from people who hear I vote for a non-major party. Voting for the Ds or Rs is really throwing your vote away. The only difference between them is that one happens to be in power.

Fuck 'em both.

i voted. with my dick.

it was a horrifying scene, as you can imagine.

oh and the "a vote for X is throwing your vote away" is a bullshit rationale. your vote is important, even if your candidate loses - you expressed your opinion at the ballot box and that's what matters.

Even if it doesn't result in anything.

I still have fond memories of the 2000 election when my mother told me I could vote for whoever I wanted because Wyoming is a red state and my vote doesn't matter.

I left a lot of bubbles blank. I had no idea what the mineral trust crap was about and I don't know anything about our state supreme court justices. All I cared about was getting the corrupt assholes out of out city government.

Also, I voted for the judge that married me and boorite because he was a nice guy. And some other people because they were women. And one guy because he had a funny name like "cuntlicker."

I voted straight Democrat, but just before I could confirm my choice the Diebold voting machine mysteriously shut down and a trap door opened beneath my feet. Next thing I knew, I was in some kind of dank tunnel being sluiced out over a cliff and out to sea by a raging underground river. I will be lodging a formal complaint in the morning.

I sense something similar occuring again while trying to e-mail the good people of Diebold.

So YOU were the other person who voted for Gilmour? A whole 2% of us did!

I didn't vote completely libratarian, but there were a few on my list.

Nathan was laughing at me all night while I kept saying "I won" when the things I voted for passed.

This makes me so sad because I spent 3 hours researching each and every issue and candidate on the sample ballot they posted. And I hate politics.

I spent all day researching and I still couldn't find out half the info I needed. The paper had NOTHING. The websites had NOTHING. The best information was political signs on the corner lot.

I hate this town.

Hay u guys!

I didn't vote. I am teh suck.

When it came right down to it, I decided that the choice between Asshole A and Asshole B wasn't much of a choice after all.

But I'll be there with bells on in 2008. Even if it's all assholes again.

My city is great because they had what the measures actually were and what they entailed on the ballot.

I felt my time researching the propositions was wasted and cried for ten hours.

I voted against an amendment that would make a 1% sales tax increase to increase the city budget. The lousy city can't handle what they have as it is. They keep spending it on crap and then wonder why they don't have enough money to keep schools open or fix the streets.

I did vote for an education budget increase. Though they'll probably find someway to use the funds for something retarded like replacing all the new streetsigns with brown "historic" signs. Oh wait, they already did that.

I voted against an amendment to Virginia's state constitution that literally said, and I quote:

quote:
The Commonwealth will neither create nor recognize the legal status of any unmarried individuals in or attempting to create a union that confers the same rights, privileges, and or status as marriage.

The proponents for this bill said it was to prevent gay marriage, even though same-sex marriages have been illegal in Virginia for over 30 years.

I love how Colorado voted Democrat then not only failed to pass the bill for domestic partnerships, but passed a state constitutional amendment saying marriage is between one man and one woman. Well, last I checked anyway. Apparently there's some issue with the whole voting process in Denver and the mayor is all pissed off...

Democrats swept the election not because people really like the Democrats or what they believe in, but because they DISLIKE the Republicans enough to vote for them. So don't expect people to change their puritanical views overnight. They voted against the Republicans; they didn't vote for the Deomcrats (slogan: "Hey! At least we're not Republicans!").

And those gay people don't threaten my notion of the sanctity of marriage - Britney Spears does.
