A short list of anime I've seen and liked:

G1 Transformers (a favorite of mine)
Original Dirty Pair ("Flash" gave me a headache)
Urusei Yatsura (still the best Rumiko Takahashi)
The Big O
RahXephon
Read or Die OVA (TV series was meh)
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Fullmetal Alchemist
Hellsing (TV and OVA)
Black Lagoon
Death Note
Excel Saga
Dokuro-chan
Dai Mahou Tenge
G-On Riders
Genshiken

I watch a lot of anime, but I try to only sit through the good stuff. I'm not one who thinks all anime is good just because it's from Japan.

I used to be ridiculously into Love Hina. I even have this ultra impressive statuette of Narusegawa that I bought a million years ago. You don't even WANT to know how much it cost me, and I'll never say. I haven't touched the anime in a long time, but the manga's still one of my all time favorite comics.

Dragon Ball Z is pretty mucht he only Anime i've ever watched with any kind of consistency, and as much as I enjoyed it, it annoyed me with the pointless side stories and episode long shouting matches "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH I'M GETTING REALLY STRONG NOW AAAAAAHHHHHH"

I can see from your lists that I have alot of violent Japanese cartoon porn to catch up on. Can anyone recommend a good way to see some of this great stuff without breaking the bank? The video stores around here are just the usual chains with crap selections.

Strip clubs are inside, just like being at home is inside.

Plus, I can dance around in front of the mirror and take my clothes off.  Why pay for something I can do myself?  And I can give myself a lap dance, if I just use my imagination.  Like Dondi says:  "'Magination can take you places faster'n rocket ships!"

Is the original Transformers really anime? Isn't that like saying Rainbow Brite, He-Man, and TMNT are all anime? I know TF was originally Japanese, but what was played over here wasn't the Japanese version. There's a lot of differences.

Fuck, I think I just exposed my nerditè. Now to pretend I'm a wrestler or something more butch.

I just got the last DVD of Samurai Champloo from Netflix a little while ago. It was pretty cool.

And I'm not sure what's anime and what's not, but as far as movies go I love all of Miyazaki's work. I think Sprited Away is my favorite.

In all honesty, I was president of Macalester's anime club for a time. I tended to enjoy the fantasy anime more, clockwork mecha and the like. Though I did enjoy plain ol' mecha shoot-em-ups. I haven't really watched too much of it since then though.
