not to create strips but to display maybe the top rated comics per refresh or once a day or something

that'd be cool!

Does the stripcreator RSS feed not work on facebook?

That would surprise me.

I looked into the facebook API but I couldn't think of anything really worthwhile to do with it.

thats too bad...i'd like to be able to impliment my strips into my profile with ease. not to mention im sure the advertisement for this website would be intense. can you imagine how many people will want to make comics atfer they see it on FB?

Agreed. I, too, would add said application, were it to exist.

OH! I know what would work well...

Could you do a random stream of top rated comics wiget? either for facebook or just for vista and/or mac?

I guess its more advertising than anything... but people could display their favorite comics from the site there, or set it to random maybe? Also, random comics by a favorite user(s)?

Well, I played around with it a bit this evening and got a Stripcreator app that displays comic strips. But Facebook isn't wide enough and cuts off the right side. Not sure if that can be fixed or not.

Do you want to be able to display your strips or just update your timeline when you post a new one? I'm not very facebook savvy so I don't know what most of the apps out there do.

well you could add multiple options. you will be able to creation a section for the user to select choose options.

im not sure what you could do about the size issue. maybe have the strips in a vertical placement, but then that will ruin some comics. maybe take the comic and turn it into a jpg or gif and resize it a little bit...?

Anything new with this? Is a sc. app still out of reach? I'd love just a simple way to repost comics on there much like I can with youtube vids.

If theres some dumb ass bumper sticker application where people can post bullshit images that mom's forward back and fourth to each other's AOL mail I'm sure theres a feasible way. If brad succeeds I will donate to him 5 WHOLE DOLLARS.

I was struck with inspiration today.

What if you could make an App in which you can enter your username and password into your profile, and then it's kind of like the main page in where it will show the first panel of one of your top rated comics and people will have an option to be taken to this site and see the whole panel?

I think that if it was possible to pull off, it'd be a great way to let us show off our comics to some of our friends AND it'd get some great advertisment in for the site since it'd be sending people straight here.

Would this be possible? It's just a suggestion.

That would be a great idea considering the way I do my part and advertise is by running up and down the streets of my neighborhood yelling "STRIPCREATOR.COM"

Actually, Brad, it seems to me that a good idea would be to work on a Stripcreator iPhone app.

Hear me out: I hate iPhones.  I will never get one.  This is not about me getting to make comics on an overly-expensive paperweight.  This is about rolling in that sweet two dollars a pop goodness that is an iPhone app from the app store.  Think of how many hookers and how much blow you could buy with that.

TENS.

Literally, tens!  Granted, I have absolutely no clue how you'd program one and get it submitted, but hey, I'm just an idea guy.  Obviously the artists would need to consent (doubt they'd mind) but in general, it could be a really cool way to make enough money for your tropical island while leaving enough for a manservant.

Actually, I think a good facebook app would be an option to post that you've just created a new comic with a link to the strip on your wall.  I have a few iPhone apps and of course we've all seen web pages that will post links to your wall notifying the world that you've done something or you want them to link to a site.

So you make a comic, click the facebook button, enter your user name and password, and then it automatically posts on your wall, "[Name] just made a comic on stripcreator.com.  Create, save and and share your own comic strips!" or something like that.

I think that could drive traffic and donations to the site tremendously.

Does Facebook not allow you to display RSS feeds on your "wall?"

What I've been doing is making pngs of my best comics and posting them in an album on facebook. I have a link back to my stripcreator page in the caption of each image.

It does seem like a good idea obviously it's great advertising (as half a dozen people have said already) but also it would be a great way to show off that special kind of funny that no spoken joke could ever capture to your friends. And make your family totally disgusted with you in the case of many strippers
