Jim Ross wrote about ROH in his blog. Gabe replied, not in a very nice way, to point out that Ross had made a mistake by calling ROH "The ROH". I wouldn't think Mr. Ross will be needing that information now.
Nigel McGuinness: Whiner. Why you would you want your champion to be such a fucking baby. He complains about how he has it hard and comes across as the biggest pussy in the world, then he wins matches against the good guys, who are supposed to be our heroes. Great. Every contender in ROH must be a bitch too. Nigel broke Jimmy Rave's jaw because he hit him in the face really hard. Nigel knocked Johnny Fairplay (not a wrestler) out because he hit him really hard. It has been speculated that Nigel tore his bicep because he hits his opponents so hard in the fake sport. Uh oh torn muscle beep beep beep steroid alert.
Factions: Are great if your name is Dragon Gate and you know what you're doing. When they began consuming ROH is when I began losing interest. Now reading the reports it sounds like factions in ROH = factions in WCW.
Jimmy Jacobs: His soap opera with Lacey, BJ Whitmer and Colt Cabana in 06/07 was, as far as my enjoyment goes, perhaps the greatest period in wrestling that I have seen. I have heard that Jimmy comes up with his own stuff but if this is Gabe's work I will admit he did a marvellous job here. Jimmy exhibited such passion in interviews in this period that it was hard not to get behind him. His speeches were often the most exciting parts of the ROH DVDs. He was able to make himself the target of disdain, sympathy, disgust and hatred with his work outside of the ring. Then he was out with an injury suffered in a big grudge match against BJ Whitmer. When he came back he did not seek revenge on Mr. Whitmer because Gabe Sapolsky had to have his all-consuming faction war. Whitmer was a member of the Hangmen 3. Jimmy came back as the leader of the Age of the Fall. Jimmy's fantastic interviews no longer mattered because he had to babble the most retarded bullshit no one could possibly care about. This was a hit to Jimmy Jacobs that couldn't have been targeted better. Again, I've heard Jimmy uses his own ideas so this may not be Gabe's fault. The Age of the Fall became tag team champions but no one cared because their cause was retarded. The believability that drew interest in the Jimmy loves Lacey saga was gone. BJ Whitmer has now left ROH. He never had a singles match with Jimmy Jacobs since the cage match they were both injured in. They were on opposite sides of a couple of tag matches but nothing more than that because Gabe Sapolsky had to have his fucking faction war. Fortunately, IWA-MS was willing to capitalise on ROH dropping the ball and put them against each other in an I quit match and a no ropes barbed wire match.
Joey Matthews: I haven't seen much of him in ROH because I stopped watching before he showed up, but I did download (more on that later) the show he debuted on. He came out and basically said "Hi my name's Joey I was fired from WWE for being a drug addict but I'm on the wagon now, it's hard but my friend Jimmy helps". Fine. Except the people watching are supposed to not like the Age of the Fall and want them to lose. This was not the best way to go about it. I, for one, would like to see someone succeed after getting off the drugs.
Kevin Steen: Can't fight for PWG but can fight for ROH. Mr. Steen's choice I imagine but since I like PWG and not ROH this helps fill my bucket of anger toward Gabe and his mates.
Commentators: Like to laugh about how wrestling is fake. During a match involving El Generico and Delirious one of the commentators (I forget which, but it was the dumber one) said they could speak to each other in a masked man language. He later went on to say that maybe it is French. Ha, ha! French!! Because El Generico is a Mexican character played by a guy from Montreal. Great, you fucking cunts, except the commentary is part of the fake show and shit like this detracts from it.
Jigsaw: Made to take his mask off. Jigsaw claims he's glad to be out of it but I'm not sure he wasn't brainwashed by Mr. Sapolsky. Should have lost his mask in CHIKARA or at least on an ROH show, not on a feature on the internet that no one cares about. Without a mask on his face Jigsaw may as well put in its place a stamp saying GEEK, because he looks like every other guy on the pile. That's a career down the drain. Thanks, Gabe.
Austin Aries: Fell asleep on the steroid train and woke up in ROH. Will live out his life in obscurity and die by age 50 having gotten nowhere. At least Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Brian Pillman etc. got to become famous and make big piles of money before they died.
Motor City Machine Guns: Meant little to ROH. I would have thought an appearance by Homicide or Christopher Daniels would have meant more to the loyal ROH audience but I suppose they want someone to take turns doing moves with the Briscoes for 10 minutes after you think the match is over. Scott Lost and Joey Ryan are a better team than the Briscoes by the way.
Allison Danger: Raped. Like her legacy. Was on the first ROH show in 2002 but was thrown to the wayside, or quit, I don't know, when Christopher Daniels had to leave in 2007. Was brought back for ROH's 6th anniversary show. Gabe didn't want to honour one of his longest serving stars; he wanted Larry Sweeney to knock her out so Bobby Dempsey could rape her, so that the ROH followers would hate Larry Sweeney a bit more. The ROH fans in attendance cheered Bobby on and chanted "man up". Ms. Danger has not been seen in ROH since.
Japs: Fine, usually. Shingo Takagi? Cool. Naomichi Marufuji? Great, big star. Mitsuharu Misawa? Yes please, get Mitsuharu Misawa. Kota Ibushi? Kota Ibushi??? Who the fuck is Kota Ibushi? I don't have a problem with ROH bringing him in, but to act like he's a big star just because he's Japanese is a bit silly. He is better than most of the ROH roster but has no name value in or out of Japan. Go Shiosaki is not much either but ROH fans seem convinced that these are among the biggest stars in Japan.
I stopped giving this company money early this year when I realised I want them to die. Now on the odd occasion that I want to watch something, I download (steal) it and don't feel bad at all. Gabe Sapolsky is an obese, greedy, insecure, preening, massively overrated basket of dicks. I would rather give my money to Rob Feinstein than Gabe Sapolsky. ROH are losing money and I am happy about it. They have been running sales constantly since last year to try to suck in as much dough as they can but it is not working. I will dance a three-hour jig when this company capsizes in the seed of its fan base.
