Aw. Those big guys in Hallowe'en masks were scary, weren't they? Good thing you had your big sister there for moral support.

In all seriousness though, I was Leatherface.  That video is only the tip of what we did to her. We had her surrounded so no matter what way she looked, one of us was there. And if that wasn't enough, we would poke her or grab at her -- anything to get a reaction. And she wasn't the only one. The Keene Pumpkin Fest is attended by thousands of people. We had hundreds of people stop us for pictures (we had a friend with us that tried to take a dual photo every time someone else took a picture of us, but her memory card ran out after about 200 pictures), and had tons of people -- mostly teenage to young-twenties girls -- so terrified of us. It's so much fun! My friends and I are like local celebrities once a year, as we do this every Pumpkin Fest for four or five years running now.

It looks lame. Real lame.

That's the cross I bear, but seriously people. When did this become a safe haven for teen america? This site used to have teeth!

Where's all the gnashing? Come on!

I think you're a little confused.  I'm not Teen America; I'm Pathetic, Lonely, Mid-Twenties America.

The only thing lamer than teens getting overzealous at halloween because they live in small towns and get excited for pumpkin festivals are mid twenties adults who don't seem to see a problem with participating in such events. It isn't even about how amazingly uncool, the whole thing is, it's also that.... Come on! Just, come on!

Also, Leatherface? The people were probably scared because they thought you were Dick Cheney. Am I right? Anybody? No? Whatever!

You're half right.  Halloween is always fun, and if you do it right you can probably fuck teen America well into mid-30's America.

But Leatherface?  Nothing is lamer than people dressing up as horror movies characters for Halloween.  How about applying three seconds and maybe a couple of dozen IQ points to come up with something original?

I said I was pathetic and lonely; I admit it.  You wanna know why my StripCreator character works at "Pimpburger"?  Because I work at McDonald's.  I'm 26 years old, single, living in an empty apartment, and working at McDonald's.  For one day a year, though, I'm loved.  I'm like a local celebrity.  Thousands of people show up to this event every year, representing all 50 states, and even other countries.  And hundreds upon hundreds of them ask to take a picture with us.  I feel important for one day out of the year, so I don't care if it's "lame" or "unoriginal".

I love McDonald's! Thank you for your contribution to society.

I have so many questions, legitimate questions, I'm a bit of a McDonald's enthusiast. What is the special promotion going on at your McDonald's right now? My local is pushing that 'Make your own breakfast for cheap' deal real hard. It always mentions a la carte only, so I have no interest. What are some of your local specials? We get the McRib yearly. Do you have the same there? I was on the east coast around 2001ish and they had lobster tail value meals. What if any is your local specialty?

Also, last, but not least, you aren't famous at all. You're just scenery. That being siad, there is nothing wrong with having a good time and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm gonna do some further research on this Keene Pumpkin Festival and see what I can come up with for a 35 part series. It could make great fodder for the envitable return of the Barnstorming experiment.

Right...  well, according to the ever-so-reliable Wikipedia:

The Pumpkin Fest previously held the record (as recognized by the Guinness World Records) of 28,952 [1] set at this celebration on October 25, 2003, but this was broken when Boston, Massachusetts collected 30,128 on October 21, 2006. [2] At first it was believed that Boston did not have an official count, merely a sign-in for each pumpkin. But it was later determined that each pumpkin was indeed registered and counted, causing Guinness to confirm the record in a certificate issued to Camp Sunshine, the event beneficiary and organizer of the festival. Camp Sunshine is a national non-profit retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

The organizers attempt yearly to beat this record by encouraging businesses and individuals to create and donate jack-o'-lanterns which are displayed on many enormous banks of shelves and all available surfaces around the center of town.

The festivities also include fireworks, music, and food, and draw in people from all over New Hampshire and adjoining states.

Almost immediately after the pumpkin festival is over, the jack-o-lanterns are hauled away by volunteer work crews and given to pig farmers.

The event is held on a Saturday in mid- to late October. Pumpkin Fest 2009 was held on Saturday October 17 and an estimated 70,000 people attended the event, which boasted 29,068 lit pumpkins. [3] By comparison, the population of Keene is nearly 23,000.

I also have a million mcQuestions.

Does your mcDonald's force customers to pay for extra bbq packets???? Cause the ones I frequent sure do.

(They also have signs that warn against using "funny money")

Have they remodeled recently and adopted a trendy look?????

I can't think of any more questions so...I changed your costume to make you scarier.

I also changed your friend into Mayor McCheese, I like him better that way.

Yes.  A 4-piece/6-piece gets one sauce, a 10-piece gets 2 sauces, and a 20-piece gets 4 sauces.  3-piece Selects get one sause, 5-piece get 2 sauces, and 10-pieces gets three sauces (stupid, I know).  Any extra sauces cost twenty-five cents.

There was a remodel last year.  Not for a new trendy look, but to make space for the new "McCafe" machine.

How often do you get the McRib? Aren't the Arch Burgers fantastic? I had a mushroom swiss for dinner last night and I didn't wake up with a horrible case of the squirts. How popular is this whole McCafe thing? They try to bring me in with free coffee on Monday's, but I want nothing to do with it. I eat about5 McGriddles a month on average and can't get enough of the little god like cakes.
