The premise is a simple one - superheroes. I want you to invent superheroes, turn SC.com regs into superheroes, turn your most hated politician or pop singer into a super-villain, whatever you like. This page might give you some inspiration.

Judging will be in roughly three and a half days - Saturday afternoon my time, midnight-ish Saturday night SC.com time. As usual, judging will be a based on a combination of editing quality, originality, and humour, so even if you're not much of a photoshopper, please enter anyway - a really clever idea in a less-than-perfect editing job stands a good chance of winning.

Have fun.

Bit of an underwhelming response... did I make it a bit too vague? Should I have posted some pictures to use?

this was actually a really good contest, I just can't hink of anything to do for it.

I'm a bit pressed for time right now, and unlike the video game contest, this one actually requires concious thought on my part (as opposed to having ideas literally pouring out of my ears) to come up with something good. I like the idea, I just can't devote the energy to it that I'd want to.

I blew my creative load on the last one... need to recharge my batteries.

Ugh, that's a visual.

Need... 1950s... advertising...

Just had an idea (yeah, I know I can't really enter and/or win, but it's fun to participate anyway) and I need some images from 1950s advertising...

A scene from the upcoming superhero movie, The Amoeba...

...famous among superheroes for being the easiest to draw.

I knew that there was something evil about that thing. Everytime I go downtown, there are people sitting by it. They must be communicating some kind of evil.

How about a nemesis? In the immortal words of Bricktop in Guy Ritchie's Snatch - "Do you know what `nemesis' means? Nemesis is a righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent, personified in this instance by an 'orrible cunt ... me."

Okay, judging time. My favourites are:

fuzzyman - The Pixel, who is only slightly harder to draw than The Amoeba.

TheElPaso - Captain Unobvious, who looks far more like a superhero than his more obvious alter ego.

skagg - Minuteman, though that entry may well have come from Captain Obvious...

Blew_Crabs - Dex Men. Lots of work went into that one... and I really want X-ray vision!

Drexle - Ubermench, bringing a level of intelelctualism to the proceedings. (I want to know, though - after spending all his time fighting monsters, in which issue does he himself become a monster?)

fuzzyman - X-Man. You deserve a special mention just for sifting through all the piles of gay porn, looking for source pics.

fuzzyman - Supersnuggles, mainly because the world doesn't have enough superpowered pets.

...but who gets the nod? I suppose the winner will have to be fuzzyman for the comhined coolness of all of his entries, though Blew_Crabs is a close second with Dex Men. Well done, fuzz.

Probably the one where his inner monologue says: "Thou Goest to Wonderwoman? Don't forget thy whip!"
