Welcome one and all to a horrific festival of depravity! Remember contestants, if you are NOT currently up in this round, you are to cast a vote for the team who made the best effort and produced the most humor. Drave will be the tiebreaker. Let's dispense with the formalities and get right down to business... here are the orders of the matches:

Round 1: Little_Kaufman vs Bazilla Firefly
Round 2: dj sparkyDexX vs fuzzyPerm (Can be delayed upon dj's request)
Round 3: Big Evil Fuck vs crabby Chicka
Round 4: kramer_vs_Namgubed vs The Blair dougan

Now, let the horror begin!

Round 1: Little_Kaufman vs Bazilla Firefly

You will have 72 hours to complete your collaborative strips following these rules:

1) Dostoevsky was right, people don't want personal responsibility, they want merely to be ruled over by someone strong. This is to be the theme of the comics.

2) Like traditional haiku, both comic strips must contain a word that
indicates the season in which it takes place.

3) The comic must have an even number of Characters in the comic, and any two characters sharing a single frame must have their backs to each other.

4) You may use *only* the following characters, and *only* to represent the following personas (Use as many or few of these as you like, but no other characters)

LadyJ, as baking maven Betty Crocker

Neal, as rice mogul Uncle Ben

Zoe, as the fishy Mrs. Paul

The WIGU hooker, as Sara Lee, hawker of edibles and underwear, but not edible underwear
( http://www.saralee.com/ )

Back-to-back Cthulus, as ice cream hippies Ben and Jerry
( http://www.benjerry.com/ )

Good Luck, and good stripping!

Skagg, you don't get a vote in this cup. You (and everyone else not in the Cup) should send some EVIL rules, though:

mail rules to both of us:
lara7@attbi.com
neo_drexle@yahoo.com

Currently, there are 4 votes for bazilla firefly and 6 votes for Squirrely kaufman. As this is close and a tie is still possible, fuck and a_chicka, please vote ASAP. Should there be a tie, DRAVE will vote.

*A One Way Trip to the Smoldering Abyss!* Provided courtesy of Infernal Travels, where the flames rise up to meet the sky.

Round 2: dj sparkyDexX vs fuzzyPerm

You have 72 hours to complete your strips. You have only two rules for this round, but don't rejoice until you read them:

1) Including the speech bubbles, narrations, and title, there are ten text fields. You must use seven of them, (The title is a given) and they all must share the same beginning letter and ending letter. Like if you wrote a text box that says "Wirthling Sucks, but Gabe Swallows!" you would have to make sure that all the rest of the text boxes begin with "W" and end with "s."

2) pentabubble: you must have five words in each bubble, no more, and no less.

Good Luck, all of you!

I am assuming that we can omit speech/thought bubbles completely. I mean, "all bubbles must contain five words", but if you don't enter any text for that bubble, it doesn't appear at all.

Right?

Drexle
March 21, 2002 7:56 PM

This is true of any bubbles you don't fill in, but notice in the first rule that you are required to use at least six bubbles (seven if you count the title as being one as well). This could be any combination of speech/thought/narration you want as long as it's five words per bubble used.

Drexle

Now that I think about it, cut that down to Four required text bubbles + title. That way it matches the theme of the "Pentabubble" rule.

I concur. Ive only just got online (havent been around the last couple of days due to work and having a social life). Thus , i suggest an extra 24 hours (it is the weekend).

And if you make it 5 bubbles and 5 words in each bubbly , it makes it "Pentagonal Double Bubble".

Besides , ive just written my comic based on the original rules.

Drexle
March 23, 2002 8:59 AM

Sure, another 24 hours will be fine given the circumstances.

DexX
March 23, 2002 6:50 PM

Now I am confused...

Is the strip's title included in the seven text field limit, and if so does it need to compley with the first-last letter thing? What pecisely does "the title is a given" mean?

Here's my part one strip. Does it comply?

62926

It will be easy enough to fix if the title is counted in rule one - I'll delete the "dark dingy bar" line, and rewrite the title to comply. I'd rather not, though...

WHERE THE FUCK DID SHE COME FROM??? My wife has just confirmed that Asian Girl 1 was _not_ visible in the third frame when I saved the strip. *grumble* Kind of ruins the "Tobor suffering alone in the dark" idea of the frame...

DexX
March 23, 2002 6:59 PM

There ya go. DJSparkyDog, take your pick...

62930

Now... which of those two is rules compliant? Judges?

Incidentally, I am assuming the rules do not carry between strips, so DJSD's text fields can start and end with a different pair of letters from mine. Is this right?

My strip was written with 7. 6 in speech bubbles and 1 in a narrative . Is this correct , or incorrect according to the rules , IE does the title count as one of the 7 ?

Ill post it anyway , lemme know if its correct/incorrect.

DexX: When I said that the title was a given, it means that something absolutely has to be typed in it, therefore it has to follow the first/last letter rule. The title *does* count towards the number of fields you must use.

Don't worry guys, your entries are fine rules-wise.
