Had an idea today, might be fun...

Basically, someone kicks it off by posting an image. Somebody else does a pic edit using that posted original and another original. They post ther new edit, plus the extra original they used. The next person uses just the new original posted by the previous person, selects another original, and makes a pic-edit with those two, also posting their edit and the new source image they used to make it.

That's all very convoluted, so here is a demo...

- Archie posts a cute pic of a puppy.
- Bob posts a pic of the puppy being eaten by a shark, and posts his original source pic of the shark.
- Claire posts a pic of the shark popping up out of George W Bush's coffee, and includes her original of Dubyah.
- Donald posts an edit of Dubyah being fed into a meat grinder, and includes the original of the meat grinder...

Getting the idea? Now, two questions...

1) Would anybody be willing to do this?

2) If we do it, should it be a case of the first person seeing it calling it and having two hours after posting their call to post their edit, or should we just have a schedule of participants like we do with the serial comics?

If you have some suggestions on other ways we could run it (I like the idea of taking the last person's edit and adding to it, but it would get very crowded very quickly) please suggest away. This is just an idea I have been pondering over the past few days. If there aren't many people who think it will be fun, I won't be terribly disappointed to see it die off. It might be fun, though...

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about, skagg. Besides, I can't send an e-mail attatchment that's more than 150K, and most .psd files are far larger, correct?

I'd rather count myself in than miss out on what might be a great little game, however, I can't promise that when it's my turn I will be able to do anything as I'm really backlogged with work at the moment.

Okay, nudging the underside of 4am here. I'll kick this sucker off in about ten hours, after I am up, showered, dressed, and breakfasted. Now all I have to do is settle on a good original to start with (and I feel I should do an edit with it, too, in the spirit of the activity).

If you arrive late, stress not - you can add your name to the end of the list as it is running.

hmmm can we delay till the weekend, i forsee myself having zero time in which to do this until saturday afternoon

Don't stress - chances are that it won't be your turn until Friday or Saturday anyway, unless the guys before you go very quickly.

If your turn comes around, and you aren't around, we can just knock you back one or more places until you turn up.
