Time permitting, I'm considering giving Stripcreator a once-over rewrite/redesign kind of thing. There's a large list of small, back-end things that I'd like to tidy up, fix or add to hopefully make my life as webmaster a little easier.

I'd still like to see if implementing this change fixes make.php for Opera, Mozilla or Netscape users.

And I wish the search page did exact matching when searching favorites, because right now the search results for my name include people who don't have me on their favorites, but do have Big Evil Dan or Evil_Diet_Coke.

I believe I tried this, but there was another error deeper into the script that also broke.

Then I did some further investigation into it and Netscape 6 just doesn't support the DHTML trickery I'm using in the make engine, so I gave up. I'm not sure about the other browsers.

Yeah, there's a weird issue with this that will take some sorting out. It has to do with the goofy way I store the favorite lists.

The text bubbles are not the same thickness as the tables they point too. Maybe this should be adjusted

Here is my idea for repositioning comics in a simple way:

Select a comic in a pull down list
Select another comic in a pull down list
Comic 1 goes in position below comic selected

An alternative way to do this is to have a comic checklist:

Click all comics you want to move in a checklist.

select a comic in a pull down menu to put them after

Multiple comics are moved

It isn't exactly catagories, but it's very simple and easy to use.

I have another idea, I'll post it later

Search images: Search to see comics with specific backgounds, characters, etc... This could also be fun because you could use it's image output to find the number of comics using, jesus, for example.

Serch percentages: Automatically divide total comics by number of results found to output what percent of comics have said stat. For example, 2292 comics have dog about 0.02222% of the comics have dog in it.

Editing posts would not only stop us from slagging each other's spelllign mistakees, but people would just take the piss out of it so that you end up looking like a moron in a fight, it's better that you can read what people meant the first time they said something, before they backtracked out of the argument.

In the comic competitions thread, would it be possible for the Comic Cup threads to be bumped up when replied to, while the normal Comic Competitions stay in order?

Because sometimes Comic Cups are very long, but unlike the present Tag Team Cup, well envolved in and then people have to scroll down to get to the thread, and no-one can be bothered, and people stop voting etc.

I like almost all these ideas (except for editing posts -- that would turn the message boards into an unintelligible jumble of random statments. Imagine if you started reading a thread 5 days after it was created, when everyone had already edited the hell out of all their posts? The meanings would be totally opaque.

BUT aside from that, I like almost all the ideas here. But there are some ideas which are definitely better than others, and they can really be summed up by xACOM:

I have noticed that if I accidently get bumped off the page while I am trying to save a comic (clicking something wrong in druken stupor or the occasional web time-out) the comic information is lost if you back-page. I don't know if this has been brought up before and then dismissed as impossible to fix.

In addition the the characters not working it seems like I've encountered one or two others that don't show up, but you can't find out until the comic is saved.

I would also like a giant, rotating, constantly updated 3-d topographical translation of comic creation by volume over time, that was present on any page and could be dragged around and / or docked to the web page. Needs to be sound-interactive.

It would also be cool if you could customize your stripper's account front page a little bit, maybe with a selectible bio picture (instead of individually uploadable to cut down on taking up space) or custom background colors or um a neat-o background of cute puppies and midi music playing and blinking text and and and

Actually, I have to admit, the original word balloon style DOES seem more professional looking.

But since you have the new style online, you should keep it and make an option to choose between the two styles.

Although I quite like the look of un-bolded text, it doesn't look right with TOBOR, perhaps you could get it so only TOBOR talks in bold?
