I wonder if anything is going on in the real world?
TV - what we watch while the world goes to crap...
Nah... couldn't be more exciting than BayWatch!

PROBLEM: Stateless third world groups are desperately poor and powerless and are resorting to Terrorism.
Don't these countries feel a bit oppressed when we come over and bomb them, or lob the occassional cruise missile into their backyard, or manipulate their economies?
No they like it, we haven't taken any polls, but they want us to intervene into their heathen world. You can tell by the way they lovingly burn our flag.
SOLUTION: Bomb a country into submission, arbitrarily select a country on humanitarian grounds that we conveniently ignored up until now, and will continue to ignore from nations that "play ball".
I mean, here's a Xmas present for you, a shitload of troops right on your doorstep and an impending war because we didn't get the last one quite right.
Oh I'm sure that won't be taken as a threat or insult, if Iraq lined it's soldiers along the Canadian border we wouldn't be worried at all.
RESULT: A worsening of the humanitarian conditions, to a population that didn't want your help, who are now even more impoverished and hardened against you.
At least stop fooling yourselves. You are certainly not the "good guys" and them the "evil doers"... I mean who was behind Panama, Hiroshima, Dresden... who funded Iraq, Iran and trained Osama!
Ok how is this: "We are the biggest bully, you do what we say, or we fuck you up!" Simple. And that goes for you too, Commie, I mean, er, Terrorist.

What about "collateral damage"?
Terrorism is easy to define: "The killing of civilians"
OK, "The purposeful targeting and then killing of civilians"
What about Hiroshima? 50,000 dead, many more injured and irradiated for generations... almost all civilians?
Even though the war was effectively over that was still wartime
"The purposeful targeting and then killing of civilians in peacetime"
But these Terrorist groups have declared war (or "jihad") on the US long ago?
But they are stateless, they have no authority to start wars! "The purposeful targeting and then killing of civilians in peacetime or by stateless groups"
Whoah thar buddy... thar bettar nat be sullying Indepence Day I tell ya! The answer is simple, Terrorism is easy to define: "The killing of Americans" - damn tootin!

Osama Bin Laden is a fool.
What are you talking about? I struck a mighty blow against the infidel!
Oh great, and now you have handed them a license to do whatever they like in the Middle East. Exactly what you are meant to be fighting against...
OK so the whole infidel thing is a bit of an excuse, I just like the killing.
Where exactly did you get the training to pull off this operation anyway? How the hell did you pull this off without being noticed?
Say anything, but don't say CIA...

But by and large your religion is totally against what you do. Why are you really doing this...
We kill for religious reasons...
...and to fight the oppressor.
Do you really think those little children you kill have anything to do with the decision made to bomb and sanction your people...
Well revenge basically...
...and an outlet for my blind hatred.
You monsters are the very thing you claim to be fighting against!
Well, no, but they started it, and why should those bastards have it so good while I starve...
...and this cycle of violence keeps me in a job.

One of the actual real leaders in the US, Dick "Would I lie?" Cheaney discusses control of the world's second largest supply of Oil.
Clearly, I can give you plenty of sophisticated economic arguments for why we aren't in Iraq for Oil. Oil has nothing to do with it. It's not like it's a multi-million dollar industry or anything.
Absolutely no propoganda here, move along...
Plus they actually *have* WoMD.
So why aren't we policing North Korea who has plenty of WoMD and a rogue mentality?
There's no oil there.
Plus the Russians actually *aren't* a pushover.
What about Chechnya, where the Russians have re-invaded a sovereign nation (like the Kuwait invasion) that they promised peace with when they lost there in the 90's?
There's not enough oil there.

Don't understand the 3rd war in Iraq? Listen as Dick Cheaney explains...
Our invasion of Iraq was nothing to do with oil.
But the first thing you secured were the oil fields and the oil HQ, instead of museums and hospitals.
We were just securing the economic future of Iraq for the people of Iraq.
The people's whose arms you didn't blow off?
Now your catching on...
Look, we blew your country to crap, but here are all these US companies exclusively rebuilding it!
Paid for with Iraqi Oil - they might as well be US oil fields for the next 10 years!
