Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I'm sure I like it better than I would this movie. And I've never cared for Jessica Simpson much at all...
But don't you think she's hot?
Meh, I prefer her sister. Jessica's too much about being hot, and that sort of thing always turns me off. Besides, she's no Catherine Bach...
And have you seen the video for "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'"?
I know! ...She's no Nancy Sinatra, either...
Do you find it interesting that we're talking by far the most about the movie we're least interested in seeing?

by bakawaii
7-21-05
Hey, I'm the full irony alchemist, remember? ...Or should that be, full irony talk show host?
I believe bakawaii-senpai discouraged that line...
Oh, hey, speaking of Dave... now that we're through with the trailers... and can you believe there were only 3?... it's time to discuss his review.
Oh, hai. Batman Begins! First, we can all agree it was a wonderful movie!
Always a pleasure to see Katie Holmes in anything... I wonder if we can get her as a guest on the show?
Hmmm, I think bakawaii-senpai was going to try to get Tom Cruise...

by bakawaii
7-21-05
Dude, it might be tough for me to wait to steal Katie from him until after he's introduced me to Dakota Fanning...
Benny-san, don't tell me you're into her, too?
Don't be ridiculous, Momoiro-san, she's just a child! Yeah, I think she's a lovely girl with definite potential a few years down the line, but now, I basically just think of her as a terrific actor.
On this point, we can agree. She is quite talented. I've been impressed with her work for years. Which is impressive, considering how young she still is...
But we digress. We should get back to discussing Batman. First of all, it's not a relaunch of the franchise, but the launch of an entirely new Batman franchise.
Hai, and I think this one will be much better. Although I loved the first movie, liked the second, and didn't really dislike the other two, as some fans did... many of them hated them...

by bakawaii
7-21-05
Yeah, same here; I mean, I didn't hate the movies, but I didn't really like them much, either. It would've been nice if Tim Burton could've made all of them....
And, of course, if the writing could have adhered more to the comics.
And, as Dave said, not packed so many villains into each film. And I think everyone would've rather had Patrick Stewart play Mr. Freeze.
But again, Benny-san, we digress. We could of course talk for a long time about all we would have done differently with the old franchise...
When we should be talking about the new one. Well, Dave said Bruce was training in Bhutan. I'm not sure where he was training...
But I think he said that because parts of the movie were shot in Bhutan. So, maybe that's where it was supposed to be, I dunno...

Anyway, as Dave said, the comix themselves haven't always been consistent, but nevertheless, I think this movie was still pretty faithful to them.
Hai. Joe Chill killing Bruce's parents. Batman working with Jim Gordon. Bruce working with Lucius Fox. Things like that, which are so important...
And even the deviations, while annoying in an abstract way, were still cool, cuz they worked pretty well with the story, and didn't really mess up anything important.
And of course, director Christopher Nolan, and all the actors, all did brilliant jobs.
Yeah they did. Bruce Wayne definitely seemed more human, more realistic, than ever. The whole movie was actually pretty believable.
As bakawaii-senpai said, that has always been one of fans' favorite things about Batman, that he could really exist. And I think this movie took great pains to make it all seem so believable.

Well, there's alot that can be said about the movie, but I suppose by now, most of our viewers will have already seen it, anyway...
Besides, we're running a bit late, and should wrap things up...
Of course, Dave ain't here, so we should be able to run as late as we want...
Hai, but Benny-san, what of the other shows on the network? They need their time, too.
http://www.angelfire.com/ weird/ektomage/feature/comix.html
Oh, snap, hadn't thought a that! Well, i was running out of material, anyway. Seriously, Dave already said it all in his review...
We provided the URL the other day, but we'll provide it again, in case they missed it... Well, sayonara for now, America!

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Nanika atta, America? ...You know, Benny-san, there's something we meant to mention before we even started this new series, but we forgot....
Right on, Momoiro-san. A great milestone in Dave's life. Few weeks back... he had some Pocky! Strawberry, I believe it was...
Hai, that is correct, Benny-san. Though he said he might have had some once, in '99... he doesn't remember for sure....
Yeah, well... that's basically a year he'd like to just forget ever happened, anyway....
So then, we shall not speak of it. It doesn't count! Yes, this year, then, bakawaii-senpai has finally had Pocky for the first time ever!
Yep, a very important step towards becoming a true otaku....

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Anyway, Benny-san, I must say, I may be mistaken in saying bakawaii-senpai should write the show... Just this morning he was complaining about something...
Yeah, he wrote down a note to himself sometime after our last episode. "Characters USA." Something he wanted us to discuss, but now he has no idea what it was.
I reminded him that we discussed the character aspect of USA's shows a couple episodes back, but he's sure that's not what it was. Exactly.
Right, because he wrote the note after that episode. Or as I said, after the next one. Not sure when exactly.
Hmmm. Do you think he could've wanted to compare us to those characters?
Hard to say, Momoiro-san, the way Dave's mind works. Anything's possible. Although I suppose that'd mean he thinks we're the only reason to watch this show, and the show itself sucks...

by bakawaii
7-29-05
I don't know, Benny-san. Alot of people in our viewer forum seem to hate the show, but I haven't seen any talk about us specifically, one way or the other.
I guess we don't make much of an impression. Yep, talking heads, that's all we are...
In any event, I don't think that's what the note was about. Maybe it was some further insight into the characters on USA?
Look, Momoiro-san, I haven't the foggiest, and I don't care. I've already lost all interest in the subject, and I think we've wasted enough of the show talking about it.
You may be right, Benny-san. It seems pointless to speculate. Only bakawaii-senpai could know what his note means, and his memory sucks, as he himself often says.
True dat. I'm sure he'll never remember. And I'm sure it wouldn't have been interesting if he did. He's got some good ideas, but he's also got alot of crap ideas...

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Benny-san, is that any way to speak of our producer?
Dude, the last two times I've spoken, I was just repeating what Dave's been saying in my earpiece.
Really? How about just now? Did he say that too? That doesn't seem like him... it seems like scripting, which he doesn't want to do.
It's not scripting. It's just like Christof, in the Truman Show.
Benny-san, you know bakawaii-senpai loathes Christof with a passion, and everything he stands for! Why would he ever act like him?
Um... pay no attention to the man behind the curtain? The great and powerful Oz has spoken?

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Are you even listening to yourself? You're not making any sense at all...
Hey, Benny- um, I mean I- am on a mental lunch break. I - I mean, Dave- doesn't have any choice but to work on the fly here. It ain't easy. I- Dave's a fiction writer, he likes to take his time...
Bakawaii-senpai, please return Benny-san's autonomy. It's not fair to do this... if he gets a mental lunch break, I want one too!
...
Dammit, dude, you're such a ruiner! Now I have to think for myself again!

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Sumanai, Benny-san. Anyway, did you have a chance to think of anything to talk about on the show, during your break?
Not really. Being on autopilot is more difficult than you might imagine. Although I think I got an idea for a movie... The Passion of the Christof....
I'm not even going to touch that one...
...Speaking of Conservatives, I read in the paper this morning that it looks like Maine's gay rights law is probably going to be repealed.
Ah, this harkens back to our discussions on the old show about red states vs. blue states. You said Maine was just barely a blue state...
Right, and now it looks like it might cross the line to red. Gorrammit.

by bakawaii
7-29-05
*sigh* Benny-san and bakawaii-senpai and I are fairly liberal, of course. So it's a shame to hear this news.
I think Dave even voted for the law when he was in collge, though that's before we ever met him. Or maybe it was something similar, I'm not sure...
Hai, it's true that bakawaii-senpai rarely has terribly clear recollections about anything...
Well, maybe someday we'll move production of the show to Hollywood, or New York, or somewhere metropolitan.
More importantly, if we lived in a big city, there'd be a better chance to see anime movies in theaters, go to conventions, etc...
Oh yes, of course... lest we forget, entertainment is always more important than real life. Honestly, it's amazing I let the news intrude upon my consciousness at all...

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Although, Benny-san, this news does put me somewhat in mind of recent talk in the forum, about how most fans at conventions now seem to be gay...
I wouldn't know, I don't get to go to conventions. I don't even get to watch any yuri, or shoujo ai, or anything...
...or yaoi, or shounen ai...
Yeah well. That's all well and good, but not my cup of ocha...
Benny-san... by the way, do you know any gay people, personally?
Sure. I know... ju nana! ...Sorry. Extraordinarily lame joke I've been waiting for the remotest chance to sneak into this episode....

by bakawaii
7-29-05
*rolleyes* Seriously, though...?
Meh, I don't get out much. More than Dave does, but you know... most of my friends are online. Some of them are gay or bi or whatever. I don't give it much thought, though.
Iie, I suppose I don't, either. Well... what else has been in the news this week?
I read that in mid-October, TV Guide is changing. No longer a digest, but a full sized magazine. More articles, less listings, no more local editions...
Hai, and the cover price drops to $1.99.
Dunno how long that'll last. Anyway, Dave remembers it being less than half that price. Heh... he's old.

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Anyway, I'm not sure how I feel about all this.
Neither am I. Guess we'll wait and see. Meanwhile... new season of Tripping the Rift started this week on Sci-Fi Channel.
The ads say it's like South Park in space. Personally, I find it more vulgar than South Park. Not nearly as amusing, and no redeeming social messages that I can see.
...Ah, but while all that may be true, it has the distinction of being among that rarest of shows- one I don't so much mind watching cheifly for the hotties.
Even you wouldn't watch a show you hated just for that.
True dat. I don't actually hate the show. I think it can sometimes be sort of amusing. And the whole thing is interesting to look at just for all the CGI....

by bakawaii
7-29-05
I must admit, I did enjoy the original short film. But I don't think the series ever was as good as that. Or maybe the joke just gets old if it goes on too long.
Yeah, granted, the short film was better than the series. Except that the film only had Six, and the series has her plus lots of other impossible CG hotties...
I tire of this subject. There was something of greater interest in the news Yesterday...
Yep. Sometime this summer, and I wish it would've said when, but NBC is going to air the finale of American Dreams- this time with the alternate ending.
It is sad that the show is over, but I certainly look forward to that other ending, set some time later, to wrap things up more neatly....
Ah well... all good things must come to an end. And now, maybe Brittany Snow can get some other good roles. Something I wanna see, unlike "The Pacifier."

by bakawaii
7-29-05
Hai. Well. I think that about wraps this up for this episode. I can't really think of anything else to say, right now...
Hmm, let me think... been digging Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central... Might check out Weekends at the DL tonight...
Benny-san... do you ever watch any shows on our own network, Jacuzzi Central?
Maybe I'd remember if TV Guide would list that channel...
They have anime, you know...
I heard rumblings to that effect... Oh wait, I forgot. We don't get the channel on our cable. Shoot. Oh well. Um... anyway... I guess, sayonara for now, minna...

Nanika atta, America? Your old pal Benny Iro, here. Hisashiburi. So... what's up with you, Momoiro-san?
Well, Benny-san, I have found a job in a florist shop. Since this job doesn't pay enough to make ends meet.
True dat. We've complained alot about not getting paid. Well, we finally have, but since we seem to so rarely make new episodes, the checks are few and far between.
So, how about you? Have you found a supplemental income yet?
Bike messenger. But I'm thinking of becoming a professional blogger.
Can people truly make money at that, Benny-san?

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Oh, Momoiro-san, this is America! People can make money at anything here!
Even producing low-rated cable shows on networks no one's ever heard of?
Well, now that you mention it... Dave's own paychecks have been a bit less than ours, haven't they? What was it, exactly...?
Mu. Maru. Rei. Zero.
Ah yes. Not much of a negotiator, is he? Well then, what is he doing to support himself?
As I understand it, so far no one will hire him. Not even McDonald's! That is pretty sad...

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Yeah. I know how desperately he loathes depending on anyone, even family, for anything. He must be going out of his head by now, it's been almost 3 months.
Hai. And yet, he doesn't seem to do much about it...
The thing you've got to understand about Dave is that his head is totally screwed up. He's really just a high-functioning autistic person, with dashes of a few other emotional problems for flavor.
Depression, mania, social anxiety, inferiority and superiority complexes, paranoia, self-loathing, world-loathing, otakuphrenia, OCD... the list goes on and on.
...and yet, as he himself has said, he's so high-functioning that sometimes he could just pass for aloof. But really, some of the simplest things are nearly impossible for him.
Also he's lazy, and a world-class procrastinator.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Yeah, that too. Plus, he wastes a great deal of time working on his homepage, and other online projects.
To take his mind off the problems in his real life, he says.
True, but it doesn't work. Plus, he'd still find time to do that stuff even if his life was perfect.
You'd think he might get a job working with computers, building websites or something.
But his skills are somewhat rudimentary, and he has no formal education or experience.
Which makes him perfect to produce this show!

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Why do you say that, Momoiro-san?
I dunno. It was my turn to say something, and that's all that came to mind. Do you think anyone will mind if it makes no sense?
Neh. I don't think anyone who tunes in to this show is looking for a whole lotta sense-making. Besides, it serves as a nice segue to get back to talking about the show, or whatever...
Hai. So, what did we talk about last time? It was a little over a month ago, now...
I believe we said Tripping the Rift has no redeeming social messages. Then I saw an ep that sort of did. I guess sometimes it does, and we just tend not to remember it.
Hai, because it doesn't seem to do much of it, and it tends to make it harder to discern, hidden in all the crudeness, than even South Park.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Plus of course, as we said, it isn't nearly as amusing. Anyway, we also mentioned that NBC was supposed to air the series finale of American Dreams with an alternate ending, this summer.
Hai, and we still haven't heard anything further about that. It would be nice to know when or if it is actually going to happen.
Yep. Yep yep yep. Nobody tells us nuthin. Which reminds me, Dave's been working on his calendar, and worries that he can't find good sources of info for cartoons and such.
But he does alright. He's just paranoid that he's forgetting things. Even though it is kind of hard to find news about some things.
Yeah, and usually if you find news, it's from fans on some message board or something, and there's no telling where they heard it, since official sites tend not to have any info...
It's truly hard being an animation fan. But it's ultimately worth it, I think.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
True dat. Anyway, I also said I'd check out Weekends at the DL. I tried watching the first few minutes of it, but I was bored to death, so I gave up and never watched it again.
You should always give things more than one chance, Benny-san.
I know that, but I watch too damn much already. Honestly, I need time for the Internet, and that quaint old pastime called "sleep" never seems to go out of style, either...
I don't know. Some people seem to think it's overrated. They say, "I'll sleep when I'm dead!"
Yep, and that'll be alot sooner than they think, Momoiro-san.
True dat, Benny-san!

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Well, that pretty much catches us up with our last episode. So what have we done since then? There was issue 2 of the Serenity comic, and issue 3 comes out next week. That should be fun.
Hai, and then just a few weeks till the movie! I'm very excited. Also, it's just about a week after bakawaii-senpai's birthday!
So he should actually have enough money to go see the movie, maybe! Anyway, the old man's turning the big three-oh. And his Peter Pan syndrome's still in full swing.
Ah, hai, always a kid at heart. Younger at heart than most real kids, actually!
...Which, btw, is another thing I should have included in that list of his mental problems.
Hai, it may not be such a bad thing, but it does make it hard to get by in this world....

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Well now, I can't think of much we've been doing in the past month that we haven't talked about before. So what else is coming up this month?
Tons of television premieres, of course! Sept. 10 should be the premieres of Magical DoReMi and G.I. Joe Sigma 6 on 4kidsTV...
Saw the sneak peeks of both of those. They were okay, might check out some more eps, but not really expecting to stick with them too long.
But no doubt you are more interested in the season premiere of Mew Mew Power, the same day.
Oh hells yeah. I'm so tired of all those reruns, which i don't even watch, of course...
Oh, I've just remembered that the first season of W.I.T.C.H. concluded recently. That was great. I'm really looking forward to season two!

by bakawaii
9-02-05
As am I, but alas, it's one of those things neither Dave nor I have been able to find any info on. No telling when it'll start.
Meanwhile, there are new series starting on its networks, Toon Disney and ABC Family. "Get Ed" and "Kong" on Sept. 19 (Toon Disney) or 24 (ABC Family)...
Yes, and A.T.O.M. on Toon Disney Sept. 26, but we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Back on the 10th, we also have the premiere of Naruto on Toonami!
Hai, and that is probably the new anime we're most anxiously anticipating...
Yep, at least for this month, but there's plenty of more anime and cartoons coming in October and November. We'll talk about them in a later episode.
Meanwhile, Sept. 10 is also the premiere of a movie we want to see on Sci-Fi, "Man with the Screaming Brain." We'll watch just about anything with Bruce Campbell...

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Oh, hells yeah we will! Bruce is the frickin' man! But, moving on... Sept. 11, I think, should be the season premieres of Simpsons and Family Guy.
And American Dad, not that we care much...
Yeah, might as well tune in, prob'ly nuthin better to do, but whatev.
Sept. 13 is the premiere of Bones, starring David Boreanaz, formerly of Angel, so we want to check that. Also Gilmore Girls, House, and the new show Supernatural.
I am truly looking forward to the TV Guide fall preview, so I can have a schedule grid. Chances are there's gonna be alot of stuff we can't watch...
...Hai, unless we get TiVo. But it is worse for bakawaii-senpai, who also must share his TV with his sister, whose taste is far different from ours.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Sept. 13 is also the release date for the first volume of the Cowboy Bebop Remix DVDs. Personally, I wanna wait till they're released as a box set, you feel me?
Hai, I feel the same. Of course, I'll have to sell my old Bebop DVDs, I suppose. Anyway, Sept. 14 is the premiere of Head Cases, which stars Adam Goldberg, whose work we've always enjoyed.
Yeah, but still no telling if the series will be any good. Fall's always such a grab bag, or more of a crap shoot, really. You just never know. That's part of what makes it all so exciting!
Oh, we forgot to say Sept. 8 is the premiere of the O.C., and also the new series "Reunion."
Yeah, looking forward to the O.C. and wanna check the other out, too. On the subject of Sept. 8, that's also Star Trek Day.
Hai, but who ever celebrates that? And what is there to celebrate this year? Other than the cancellation of Enterprise?

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Burn! ...Moving on, Sept. 15 is Keiro no Hi in Japan... Respect for the Aged Day.
Benny-san, do you know any aged people to honor on this day?
You mean other than Dave?
Burn!
...Nah, not really. Do they still make old people?
I... think... so. But I don't think I know any, personally...

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Anyway, Sept. 15 is also the premiere of the Showbiz Show with David Spade, on Comedy Central. That could be fun.
Definitely want to check that out. The 16th is Mexican Independence Day, so we should get some cerveza. It's also the premiere of Reese Witherspoon's new movie, "Just Like Heaven."
We love her! it's also the series premiere of "Twins," starring good ol' Sara Gilbert, and "Threshold," which we might want to check out for some reason. Oh yeah, Carla Gugino!
And of course, Brent Spiner, one of our favorite actors from Star Trek: The Next Generation. So there's something to celebrate, I guess.
And Sept. 17 is a big day. Plenty of premieres on Kids' WB, both season and series. New shows Coconut Fred, Loonatics Unleashed, and Johnny Test.
The only one of those I'm really looking forward to is Loonatics... a sort of anime version of Looney Tunes, where they're all superheroes in the distant future.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Same here. Dunno anything bout Coconut Fred, and Johnny Test looks like it's probably a lame rip-off of Johnny Quest. But in like October or November I think, there's another new show, Viewtiful Joe..
Hai, kind of looking forward to that one. But on the 17th, there's also season premieres: Xiaolin Showdown, Pokemon, and I believe, The Batman.
Right. And there's good stuff at night, too. On Hallmark, there's a TV movie I wanna check out, Mysterious Island. Plus on Cartoon Network, the season premieres of JLU and FMA.
While Justice League just finished recently, it was a very interesting season, so it will be good to see where it goes from here. And we've been looking forward to more Fullmetal Alchemist for months!
Right on. Since the first season started and ended at the same time as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, I thought they'd start the new seasons at the same time...
But, alas, Ghost in the Shell's 2nd Gig doesn't start till November! I also wonder when the new season of Teen Titans will be?

by bakawaii
9-02-05
I wonder that, m'sef. Anyway, Sept. 17 is also the start of Oktoberfest. Another good time to have some beer. And the 18th is the season premiere of King of the Hill.
Which, coincidentally, is always a good excuse to have some beer.
Yep. And the 19th is, I think, the season premiere of Code Lyoko, on Miguzi. Been a long-ass time since there've been any new eps of that.
It's also the series premiere of Surface, plus How I Met Your Mother, the latter of which could be good, because it stars Alyson Hannigan.
And we bloody well adore Alyson Hannigan! But we still may not get to see it. It's also the season premieres of Arrested Development and Two and a Half Men.
The former of which we quite like, the latter of which we can take or leave. And as we said earlier, it's also the premieres of "Get Ed" and "Kong," on Toon Disney.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Unfortunately for Dave, it's also the season premiere of 7th Heaven, which he can't stand, and which happens to be his sister's favorite show. Which means he has to choose just one thing to tape.
Well, Arrested is on at 8, and How I Met Your Mother is on at 8:30. He'll probably tape those instead of Surface, and Kong will be on ABC Family another day, anyway.
Sweet! Let's see... Sept. 21 is Dave's birthday. Then the 22nd is the premiere of Everybody Hates Chris, which I wanna check out mainly cuz i like the title, a play on Everybody Loves Raymond...
Hai, but also, it seems to have some good buzz. It's also the season premiere of Joey, which I'm mildly interested in.
Same here. Then the 23rd has some movie premieres, Cry Wolf, Flightplan, and most importantly, Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. I'm seriously jonesing to see that one.
Who isn't, Benny-san? There is literally no chance for that movie not to completely rock.

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Right on. Now, as we said earl ier, Sept. 24 is the premieres of "Get Ed" and "Kong" on ABC Family, if you don't catch them on Toon Disney on the 19th.
Hai. It's also the premiere of Wulin Warriors, on Toonami. I haven't heard anything about that, so I don't know what to think.
But of course, if it's on Toonami, it deserves a look-see. Oh, gosh, I think we forgot some things on the 23rd. The premiere of Ghost Whisperer...
...Which will probably be lame, but we do sort of like Jennifer Love Hewitt, especially you...
Yeah. And it's also, I think, the season premiere of Malcolm in the Middle. But I could be wrong.
We shall see. And the 25th is the season premiere of Desperate Housewives. Which reminds me, we somehow overlooked the season premiere of Lost, on the 21st!

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Must've been all our excitement over Dave's birthday. But we mustn't forget our second favorite new series of last season!
Iie, we must not. We're very much looking foward to its second season. Also that day is the premiere of Invasion, from creator Shaun Cassidy.
Speaking of whom, American Gothic is coming out on DVD October 25. Seriously looking forward to that.
Hai, but back to our September preview, the 27th is the season premiere of Boston Legal. And the 28th is the season premiere of our very favorite show last season...
That's right, Veronica Mars, baby! Damn, we love that girl... and that show. They both totally rock. So looking forward to seeing who was at the door.
...which, coincidentally, reminds me once again of American Gothic. "Someone's at the do'..."

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Yeah, anyway. Well, the 29th is the premiere of Smallville. And also the new show Night Stalker, based on the old Kolchak series, which I never saw.
Neither have I, though I've always wanted to, or at least since the 90s, when everyone was talking about it being a big influence on the X-Files.
Right. So it should be on DVD soon I think, if it isn't already, and I wouldn't be surprised if Sci-Fi ran a marathon or something...
and then we have the last day of the month, Sept. 30. Movie premieres. Oliver Twist. Plus MirrorMask, which I understand is akin to Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal!
Yeah, I think the Henson Company is making it... and it's written by Neil Gaiman... all of which makes me intensely interested in seeing it.
However... the 30th is a date long-since reserved in our hearts for the opening of Serenity. Nothing else can touch that movie, this month!

by bakawaii
9-02-05
Right on! What can possibly be said? Firefly was totally wicked, and Serenity is bound to be at least as cool as the series. Joss Whedon is a frickin' god.
Hai. He even has a fansite dedicated to him, called "Joss is a Hottie."
And I thank you for bringing up the word "hottie," Momoiro-san! It begs me to mention Jewel Staite, Summer Glau, Morena Baccarin, and Gina Torres!
You're welcome, Benny-san. And if I might be permitted to add, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, and Ron Glass.
Dude, Ron Glass? How should I put this... wouldn't you rather honor him on Keiro no Hi?
Oh, I could think of a few ways to "honor" him, Benny-san...

Whatever you say, kid. So, um... anyway, I guess that about wraps up our preview of the month. What else was there to talk about, anything?
Well, there's always Katrina. It's very sad.
And we don't like to talk about sad things on our show. That's mainly because Dave can't deal with that sort of stuff. Especially since he feels so helpless.
He can't articulate his feelings to his friends, especially if they're actually affected by such disasters.
http://www.redcross.org/
Right, and he hates himself for that. He also can't afford, obviously, to donate any money to relief funds. And he hates the world for that.
Nevertheless, he, and all of us at "Nanika atta, America," wish to express our sympathy and best wishes for those affected, and encourage you to donate if you can...

Konbanwa, Benny-san. It's been awhile since our last episode. So, anything new to report?
Yep yep. Today I finally got around to starting my blog. Ain't no one gonna pay me fer it, but I hope to have some fun with it. And I hope someone actually reads it...
You know that bakawaii-senpai and I surely will!
Yeah, I don't doubt that, Momoiro-san. And I appreciate it. But I dunno if any viewers will read it. Or any just like random netsurfers.
Well, time will tell, Benny-san. Meanwhile, any other news?
Well, as usual, we must review subjects from our last episode, and see if there are any updates to discuss...

I guess the first major topic last time was bakawaii-senpai's ongoing joblessness. Which even now continues!
Yeah, he does keep looking, and he keeps not getting hired. I'm starting to agree with his long-standing theory that the Universe hates him.
Could be. But I'm sure he doesn't want us to dwell on this subject...
I'm sure too. Because he said it into our earpieces.
Um... hai. You sure do love to spoil the magic of television.
Oh, sumanai. I didn't realize there was magic going on. I'll try to be more careful about that in the future...

We talked about upcoming premieres last time, anyway. Like Magical DoReMi.
Yeah. Well, I haven't kept up with that, but Dave has. Surprise surprise.
He did say it's nice to finally find an animated show where he isn't attracted to the underage girls.
Um, yeah. What better reason could there be to watch a show, after all?
...Followed by Mew Mew Power's second season, where he gets to be disturbed by his attraction to all the girls except Kiki.
And btw, folks, that means he's not attracted to her, not that he's not disturbed about it. he's disturbed about the other girls...

And it turns out none of us have any interest in "Get Ed" or "Kong." And that "ATOM" thing never happened.
Meanwhile, enjoying the new season of plenty of old favorites. And new shows, too...
Hai. All 3 of us agree our favorite new show of the season is "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS. It's so funny!
Especially Neil Patrick Harris as Barney, OMG that guy cracks me up! And of course it's always great to see Alyson Hannigan...
Then there's Everybody Hates Chris, which we got to see a bit of while the O.C. has been away. It's... okay.
Yeah. Not as great as all the critics say, but pretty decent. Still, it'll be nice to get back to the O.C. next week... Maybe catch more Chris in reruns later.

Prison Break remains interesting. Then there's all the creepy shows that started this year...
Threshold: an alien invasion procedural. Interesting concept. Not sure what else to say.
Invasion: not as good as American Gothic was, but Dave's a funny character, and the story seems to be picking up a bit, finally.
Yeah, definitely getting better. But my favorite entry in this genre is Supernatural. Pretty good stand-alone stories each week, and an interesting overarcing mystery.
Hai, not that they seem to be doing much with that. I'm sure we'll get more answers eventually.
Also enjoying Close to Home, with Jennifer Finnigan. Damn she's purdy. Plus the stories are okay. Oh, and Commander in Chief is good...

So, Benny-san, would you vote for a female President?
Momoiro-san, you cut me to the quick! Need you even ask?
...Well, Geena Davis is kinda pretty, so...
Damn, woman! That isn't even an issue! The only thing I care about is, you know, the issues...
And?
Well look, Mackenzie Allen seems like a great leader. I'd totally vote for someone like her. Male or female, ugly or hottie.

Hai, me too. There's just one problem... she's an independent.
Yeah. A female President I can believe in, but a third party? Total pipe dream.
Say something to relieve my sadness now, Benny-san, please!
Um... Viewtiful Joe starts November 5 on Kids WB?

Oh... hai, I've been looking forward to that. That totally makes up for the problem of living in a country where only 2 parties stand a chance of ever winning an election...
Well, it's hard to say. We'll have to wait and see. Meanwhile, season 2 of Code Lyoko has been utterly rocking!
Oh, indeed... XANA stronger than ever, Aelita in the real world, Jeremie keeps making improvements for our heroes... plus the Franz Hopper mystery...
So much cool stuff going on... but there's more to discuss... let's see... no Wulin Warriors yet...
But we did see Serenity... and it was incredible!
Hells yeah, just like we knew it would be! Of course, there were some very painful parts, but they served the story, I think. Or at least the unpredictability, the drama...

Hai. And ultimately, I must say the movie is even better than the series, Firefly. Which is really saying something. I just hope there's a sequel...
Domestic box office has been disappointing. I really expected it to do alot better. But there's always foreign, plus DVD sales...
So, we mustn't give up hope. There's always a chance. And if we don't get a sequel, we must be grateful to have even this one movie...
Well, I was thinking of sending a letter to the head of Universal: "Look, you either greenlight a sequel, or I'll sic a pack of Reavers on you, dong ma?"
Oh, Benny-san, you know that was bakawaii-senpai's idea!
Yeah. I just said I was thinking of it. Because Dave suggested it. I think we should all do that. All the millions of fans. Dong ma?

Hai, I understand, Benny-san. But you sure do like using "dong ma" alot, don't you? Do you even know any more Chinese, or is that it?
Ai ya!
Meaning "damn." Is that all?
Pretty much. Dude, it's complicated. It's hard enough trying to learn a fair number of Japanese words and phrases, I can't do Chinese too!
Alot of people learn more than two languages, Benny-san.
So how much Chinese have you picked up, Momoiro-san?

Showing page 5.
