Welcome to the most bestest new morning show ever, Ohayou Ohio!
For those who don't speak Nihongo, that means "Good morning, Ohio." Oh yeah, and "Nihongo" means "Japanese."
Hai. I am your number one host, Momoiro Nekochan.
Most of you already know "hai" means "yes," I bet. Your number one host's name more or less means "Pink catgirl." My name's Benny Iro. I'm your cohost, interpreter, and American perspectivemonger.
Hai hai. Benny's half Japanese, just like in that old Weezer song.
My esteemed cohost of course refers to "El Scorcho," and the lyric "Goddamn you half-Japanese girls, do it to me every time." The main problem with that being that I'm not a girl...

by bakawaii
4-19-05
But of course! It is just so difficult for me to know, with all you ainoko nissei gaikokujin.
Yeah, true dat. Not like with your bishounen Nihonjin guys back home, right?
Oh, Benny-san! You know I was just teasing you. I love all things and people American, this is why I become Issei, myself.
Yeah, I'm sorry too. I know not all Japanese dudes need to fly huge-ass mechas to compensate for looking like girls. Many Nihonjin totally look like they could kick my ass. Even without budou.
Uh... hai. Anyway... My konketsunohito nissei friend Benny and I will be bringing you the best in news and entertainment, every morning...
For sure we're gonna do the best we can. Cuz we're hoping to get picked up by a national network one of these days. Of course, then we'd have to change the name of our show...

by bakawaii
4-19-05
What would we call it, do you think?
Meh, let's cross that bridge when we come to it.
Hai. Well, you may think we'll be playing mostly to the otaku crowd, but you would be wrong!
Damn right. If we just concentrated on otaku, we'd be cancelled tout de suite. Seeing as there are probably roughly 15 otaku in the whold state.
Ha ha, that is true! So we will be bringing you all kinds of entertainment news and discussion. ...So, did anyone see Inuyasha last night?
Yeah... week ago they dressed up Sota to look like Detective Conan for his first taste of puppy love, and this week Shippou was totally infatuated with that little human girl...

by bakawaii
4-19-05
Right! Her pet cat that looked like Kirara, was it a youkai or just an ordinary cat that happened to have two tails?
I think it was just a cat. But I could be wrong. Anyway, I think Shippou should end up with Souten, not Koume.
Oh, me too! But who knows? Well anyway... hmmm. Are there any callers? What do our viewers think?
...
...
Yeah, maybe it's time to see if we can't think of a topic of interest to those non-otaku, like we were saying before...

by bakawaii
4-19-05
So... do you think Jane Campbell should be re-elected?
Dude, I don't have time to follow local politics! I can barely muster any enthusiasm for national elections.
Oh, we shouldn't talk about nationals! You know how glad I am to live in a red state...
And you know how desperately I wish I lived in a blue state.
Hai. But at least there's one thing we can agree on...
Yep yep. We'd both rather be shopping in Harajuku. Which reminds me, how close are we to booking Gwen Stefani on the show?

by bakawaii
4-19-05
Oh, Benny-san, you know that's just wishful thinking, until we go national.
Right on. Which is why we seriously need to think of something interesting to Ohioans, so we don't get cancelled before the national nets have a chance to notice us.
Hmmm... so... how about those gay marriages, huh? Good thing we'll never let that happen here, eh?
Dude, you're getting a little too red-state for me...
Hush, Benny-san! When in Rome...
Oh yeah right. Um, I mean, totally! Them sumbitch sodomites best not be gettin' hitched in my back yard!

by bakawaii
4-19-05
Benny-san, you know your back yard is too messy, they'd never come near the place!
Damn right! But hey, aren't we going to get any guests on this show? Maybe Jeff Foxworthy...
I'm sure he'd be right at home here in Ohio, the southern-most state in the Midwest!
Are we in the Midwest? And how far south are we, really?
I meant the southern-most of the northern states!
Aw yeah, okay. Well, we'll see if we can book him, if he and his Blue Collar buddies haven't gone too Hollywood...

by bakawaii
4-19-05
Oh dear, Benny-san! I hope we are not offending any of our viewers!
I hope not, too. We don't wanna offend anyone. Especially me, cuz I'm liberal.
Wait, I thought red states were liberal?
What? No, red are conservative, blue are liberal. How could you not know that? That makes some things you've said make no sense. You know?
Feh, I'm an anime fan, what do I care about continuity or making sense?
I hear that.

by bakawaii
4-19-05
Well, that is all the time we have for our first episode. See you again tomorrow, Ohio!
That is, if we don't get canned after this.
I am sure we will not. A good time was had by all!
If you say so. Personally, I suspect the kids were all too busy playing computer games to watch TV.
But Benny-san, that's why we invented handheld games like the PSP! So the kids could play games and watch TV at the same time!
Yes, everyone should buy a PSP ASAP! Product placement is sure to keep us on the air! Well, sayonara for now, kids!

4-19-05
Hmmm, think I'll check some view mail...
Re: Episode Ichi. Subject: Dude, I thought you were supposed to be an interpreter. How come you stopped translating after like the first minute?
OMG, somone actually watched? Okay. Let's see. Ichi means one. Ainoko is a derogatory term for people of mixed heritage. Nissei is someone born to first generation Japanese immigrants to America...
Gaikokujin, or gaijin for short, is non-Japanese. Bishounen is beautiful boy. Nihonjin is Japanese person living in Japan. Issei is first generation Japanese immigrant to America.
Budou is Japanese martial arts. Konketsunohito is a not so derogatory word for a person of mixed heritage. Otaku is a dangerously obsessed person, an insult in Japan...
but in America, some anime fans call themseles otaku. Youkai is a demon. Let me know if you missed anything else. As a bonus, beniiro means red.
-Benny Iro

Ohayou, Ohio! And Ohayou to you, Momoiro-san. Well, our station has decided we won't be a daily show, we'll just be... "whenever."
Hai. And also they've decided it would be most thrilling if we alternate positions each time we're on. This is why today I am on the right!
Will the mad whirlwind adventures never stop? Speaking of being on the right vs. on the left...
Oh, Benny-san, I think our Ichiban episode proved we shouldn't talk politics!
Ichiban means "first." It can also mean "best," but I hope our first ep doesn't turn out to be our best.
Indeed, you are right! We must strive always for bigger and beter things. Also, thanks for changing the subject. Now, what shall be our new topic of discussion?

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Well, let's start with viewer feedback. So far we got two messages in our online forum. One of them appears to be a bunch of question marks. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean.
Iie, nor do I. The other comment was just ichi word, "kirai." This makes me sad!
Yeah, out of context, I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean either. Most likely, "dislike" or "hate," which I suppose means the viewer hates our show.
On the other hand, the viewer could be referring to a sea mine, though I hardly see what relevance that could have to our show.
Or maybe they meant "returning," possibly indicating they want to see more of the show!
Hai, way to look on the bright side, Benny-san!

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Hey, I'm Mr. Brightside. Which reminds me, are we close to booking the Killers?
Iie. You keep forgetting we're still just a local show with no viewers.
Oh yeah. Damn. Btw, thanks for reminding me, I was gonna say that "iie" means no. Though it sounds alot like "yes" can, in Nihongo. Or in Downeast.
You mean how they speak in southern coastal Maine?
Ayuh. Although it also reminds me of Uncle on Jackie Chan Adventures... Aiyaa!
*sigh* Btw, I wonder when they will ever finish the current season? It hasn't been on for quite awhile. Kids' WB's schedule certainly is unpredictable, to say the least!

by bakawaii
4-21-05
I hear that. Man, I'm all for luchadore, but c'mon, who even watches that whack "Mucha Lucha," anyway?
Probably little kids. Y'know, the ones Kids' WB is supposed to be for?
Uh... yeah, whatev. Hey, I guess I can't begrudge kids their cartoons. Though it does annoy me how everyone is always tellin' me I need to stop watching cartoons.
Agreed, Benny-san. Animation is for everyone! There's nothing wrong with adults watching it. It doesn't even have to be super-high quality storytelling, like the Incredibles, for example.
Dude, totally! As much as I love that movie, I also like more juvenile stuff, like Pokemon, Xiaolin Showdown, W.I.T.C.H., Yu-gi-oh, One Piece, Mew Mew Power...
You had me up until Mew Mew Power...

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Hey, you're a pink-haired catgirl. How can you not like Mew Mew Power?
Well, besides the fact that Zoey is so damned annoying, the whole thing just seems like a total rip-off of Sailor Moon.
Yeah, but you can never have too much mahou shoujo!
Mahou shoujo, btw, means "magical girls."
Woah, talk about role reversal! You're doing my job, now!
...Anyway, it's one thing having hot teenage girls in anime, but those girls are pre-teen.

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Yeah, and they're barely hot at all! Sheesh!
Um... maybe we should change the subject.
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!?
Uh... iie. Maybe something that doesn't help explain why you haven't got a girlfriend.
Harsh. Well, what did you think of last night's Smallville?
Oh, it was good. I'm so happy Chloe won prom queen! She's always been my favorite character on that show! Pretty ironic, though. Winning because she wrote an article decrying the nature of the Prom...

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Yeah, she's always been my favorite, too. Kinda hard to believe so many kids at school seemed to agree with her. Although seriously, that Dawn bitch... How stupid was she?
I know! I thought it was unbelievably stupid to be driving and not paying any attention to the road, but...
...But to honestly believe all those years that people liked her? And that she was being what they wanted her to be?
Exactly! What was she thinking?
Thinking? It's like, what's thinking got to do with high school, you feel me?
Hai. Anyway... more importantly, Jason sure did surprise me...

by bakawaii
4-21-05
True dat! I mean I never 100% trusted him, but man! I at least thought he was probably OK. Oh well, that's what makes the show interesting. And when Lana finds out...
...Chances are we're in for another season of Lana and Clark pining for each other and never doing anything about it.
Hey, Dawn was right about one thing. Those two are so last year! Anyway, unless the writers are as untrustworthy as Jason, next year Clark will be at Metropolis U, and Lana will be in Paris.
One can but hope, Benny-san! Personally, I'd like to see Clark and Chloe hook up.
As would we all. But true fans know Lana is the love of his youth, and Lois is his future. But as much as I've enjoyed Lois on this show, I still think it was a mistake to introduce her so soon.
Hai, they shouldn't have met till he started working for the Daily Planet after college. When she'd already be a veteran reporter. But right now, she has no interest in reporting!

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Ah well, it's just a TV show. Even comix have countless incarnations, so it doesn't have to be entirely faithful, as long as it upholds the spirit of the comix.
Hai, I suppose you are right. Well then, how about Revelations?
Meh, so far I'm only really interested in the bad guy, and he doesn't get nearly enough screen time. But at least it's only 6 eps, I think I can stick it out. Eyes is pretty cool, though.
Oh, I very much enjoy that. But I can't think what to say about it.
Me neither. Tres cool while I'm watching, then it's out of sight, out of mind. Well, I also enjoyed Life on a Stick and South Park.
It is so good to have VCRs. Since we can't afford TiVo. But... Benny-san, do you ever think we watch too much television?

by bakawaii
4-21-05
Hey, TV is just one part of my life! I'm very well rounded. I also read books and surf the internet. And... um... eat, sleep... go for walks... hmmm, what else? Do DVDs count as watching TV?
Do you watch them on your television set?
Well, duh. Oh, I guess that's a "yes," then. Damn. Okay, I also read magazines, comix, listen to music, go shopping... do laundry... uh, shower...
Enough, Benny-san. We don't need a list of every mundane activity in your life. Besides getting dangerously close to TMI territory, your list is also starting to get very sad.
Oh well. At least I don't watch too many TV shows about watching TV.
But there's no reason our viewers should not do so. Alright, kids? Anyway, that's all the time we have today. Sayonara!

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Ohayou! Benny-san, I was just at the forum. Those question marks you mentioned yesterday had mysteriously turned into special characters!
I noticed that too. Also, someone offered us $5 to stop doing the show forever.
You can't seriously be considering accepting the offer, can you?
I dunno, Momoiro-san, there's a used DVD of Treasure Planet I've had my eye on at the Exchange. That five bucks would come in pretty handy...
Even so, Benny-san, you know the money would go to our producer, not us.
Oh yeah. Hey, we haven't introduced him, yet. He could be our first guest!

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Ohayou, bakawaii-sama!
Yo, what up, m'man? Viewers, this is our producer, Dave. He calls himself bakawaii, a compound word he made up from "baka," which means idiot, and "kawaii," which means cute.
That's right, Benny. Our viewers should know it's not because I think I'm cute or stupid, but rather because I think when I try to say or do cute things, those things tend to seem stupid, instead.
You mean like this whole show?
Right on, good question, Momoiro-san! How 'bout it, Dave?
Very much like this show, I'm afraid. And on that note, I'd like to discuss some of the points made by viewers in the forum...

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Lay it on us, m'man!
First of all, if someone gave me money to stop doing the show, I'd just use it to cover production costs, which rather would defeat the purpose of them giving me the money in the first place.
Yo wait, hold up. What production costs? You saying this show has a budget? I don't even get a paycheck!
Well, right now there are no costs, because I have no money. But if I acquired some, I'd use it to make the show better. Maybe book some of those big name guests you're always asking for.
Right on, and then one of the nets might pick us up and throw some real money at us...
Yeah. Of course, no one's gonna give us any money now, cuz they hate us. Which brings me to my next point: Try to make the show suck less.

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Hai, this is why you are here today. To discuss the issues viewers have brought up...
Item one: the show feels forced to the point of being not amusing. Item two: I overexplain things to the point of being not amusing. Item 3: we have deliveries that are boring or just don't work out.
Well, it doesn't feel forced to me. In fact, I toyed with the idea of writing as well as producing, but instead I opted to just let you two talk naturally about whatever you feel like, unscripted.
Like Regis & Kelly?
Now that show feels forced and unfunny, to me. Personally, my favorite morning show ever was Fox After Breakfast. Ya had ta love Bob the Puppet! Plus Laurie was a total hottie...
Both valid points, but the important thing was it was just really loose and fun and sorta bizarre. Although I would imagine both shows had writers, anyway...

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Anyway, we're totally improvisational. So I guess whatever feels forced or unamusing is just a matter of personal taste. What're ya gonna do, eh?
Right. So, the next point was that you explain things too much. Well, being an interpreter was in your job description, it's just part of what you do. Like explaining my name, bakawaii, today...
But maybe Benny-san can do less of that from now on. I do speak pretty good English, after all. You'll notice I don't even say "Engrish."
True dat, Momoiro-san. I've noticed many such things about you, like how you always say "television" instead of "terebi," for example.
So, we'll give the viewers that one, I'll cut back on my translating. Although we are anime fans, so we'll likely use some Nihongo now and then....
...Which doesn't mean you need to always translate it. Just try to use your best judgement. Now, about your deliveries being boring...

by bakawaii
4-22-05
C'mon man, if you're not gonna pay me for this gig, I gotta make a living somehow. Can I help it if people order boring toppings on their pizzas?
... ? ... Oh. Deliveries. Pa-dum-pum! Dude, that one was awful.
Juuuust giving our audience something to compare my usual performance to favorably, m'man.
*sigh* Alright. Whatever. Anyway, I think the main problem is people fail to grasp this show isn't really... about trying to be funny. It's a morning talk show. Humor would be nice...
...But it's not the point. I know that, and you know that, and Momoiro knows that. If people want guaranteed laughs, they can flip to Comedy Central or something.
On the other hand, if they simply want light-hearted conversation about matters that interest them... Come to think of it, maybe we should ask them what topics interest them. Clearly it ain't anime...

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Hai. You go post a question about that in the forum, bakawaii-sama. Benny-san and I will get on with the show, now. Until we're told what's interesting, we'll continue to discuss our own interests.
Right on. So, The O.C. was good last night. Trey's off the hook on that drug thing. But the way he was talking with that girl at the end of the ep, well... I hope they were just talking about sex.
Hai, it would suck if Trey actually started dealing drugs. But more importantly, Ryan and Marissa seem to be back together.
Yep. Course I still miss Lindsay, I really liked her, plus I thought she was the hottest girl who was ever on that show. But I guess the fans mostly prefer Marissa. Oh well.
Well, what about Tru Calling? I'm concerned that even though Tru won, Jack did nothing to restore the balance. Maybe next week-
Hold up, there is no next week. Was s'posed to be the last ep, but FOX ain't airin' it. They're replacing it with The Simple Life. Can you believe that shit?

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Surely you are pulling my leg, Benny-san! There's only one episode left, and they can't spare the series a single week before putting on more so-called "reality" crap?
I'm afraid it's true. I don't get it either. I've never been a fan of any kind of reality TV, but some shows are worse than others. I wouldn't touch Paris Hilton with a 10-foot pole.
Agreed. But... dammit, Benny-san! One week! it was so short a season already, and delayed... All we ask is one more episode! Why???
My new theory is that all these shows get yanked prematurely to boost DVD sales. Fans miss one ep, or several, and then they have to buy the DVDs, for closure's sake.
But surely that must mean... the networks are aku!
Evil, yes. And these are the sort of people we want picking up our show? Btw, thanks for reminding me... I still haven't gotten Samurai Jack on DVD.

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Ah yes, because I said "aku," which is also the name of Samurai Jack's nemesis. And Jack Harper is Tru's nemesis. It all comes full circle.
Uh... whatev. Speaking of Samurai Jack, created by Genndy Tartakovsky, who also made Clone Wars... I have CW vol. 1 on DVD but I haven't watched it yet.
How about season 3? Or volume 2, as it may be called.
I have it on tape, but haven't watched it yet. Don't worry, I'll get to it all before Episode III hits theaters. I've got time. Anyway, I saw all the volume 1 eps when they were on TV before.
http://www.nowplayingmag.com/
Since we are speaking of Clone Wars, I should say I just read an article about it in Now Playing magazine.
Yeah, I been reading the first issue of that mag, too. It's pretty cool stuff. Anime, comic book movies, fan films, all kinds of Asian pop culture, video games, action movies, etc. It totally rocks!

by bakawaii
4-22-05
Very good, Benny-san! We are doing now more of the product placement! Hopefully someday one of the products we plug will give us some money.
That'd be swell, though I feel obligated to say it isn't necessary. We wouldn't mention anything unless we liked it. So why bother paying us for mentioning things we'd mention anyway?
*sigh* That is a good point, Benny-san. Oh well. Um... well, we're almost out of time. Did we have anything else to discuss, before we go?
Maybe we should say something funny. You know, to placate our "fans."
...
Yeah, I got nuthin'. Maybe next time. Sayonara for now!

by bakawaii
4-23-05
Dude, I had the worst nightmare! I dreamt that our show was actually a webcomic!
I suppose that would make sense, considering our show isn't censored.
True, but still...
Still what?
Sorry, lost my train of thought. I'm kinda depressed that everyone hates us.
Untrue, Benny-san! It is only the people in our forum who hate us! And people who respond to things in online forums are notorious for hating everything!

by bakawaii
4-23-05
I guess you're right, Momoiro-san. Besides, everyone I've talked to on the street say they like the show.
This has been my experience as well. However, people who talk to celebrities directly are notorious for... how do you say...?
Kissing up?
Hai, something like that.
Hey, all my friends say they like it, and they say their friends like it, too. They have no reason to kiss up, since they know I can't do anything for them, and I'm always broke.
Perhaps they were just being polite?

by bakawaii
4-23-05
Ha ha, good one! ...Oh, wait, you were serious. Yeah, I forgot, you've never met any of my friends. Let me explain something... they're not polite. More importantly, they're not liars.
Oh, please forgive me, Benny-san! I would never suggest your friends would tell untruths!
Yeah, well, maybe they just have bad taste. Anyway, there was something you said earlier I wanted to say something about... what was it? Oh yeah, do you really think we're celebrities?
We are on television, are we not? Even if it is a low-rated local show. People can be starstruck by anyone these days.
True dat. Well, moving on, we were going to discuss some of the latest posts in our forum...
Iie, Benny-san, I fear we cannot. The people have asked us not to, and so bakawaii-sama has ordered us not to discuss the forum any more.

by bakawaii
4-23-05
Oh yeah. He told me that, I forgot. And he had such great plans for responses, too! Oh well. Btw, he also mentioned he wishes you'd stop calling him -sama.
Hai, he has told me this, as well. It is difficult for me, since he is our boss, and I wish to address him most respectfully. But I shall try to change. Perhaps bakawaii-senpai?
We'll see. So, what else to discuss? Joan of Arcadia was cool last night. Sure hope it gets picked up for next season, I'm interested in seeing how this new direction plays out.
Hai, though it seems a radical departure from form, I understand it was always meant to go in this direction. It could be interesting.
Seems a bit like they're mixing in elements of many other genre shows, like Tru Calling, Buffy, et al....
Could be. Oh well, perhaps we should write to CBS and tell them how much we like the show...

by bakawaii
4-23-05
Check. Let's see. Um... Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi was fun. And Avatar: The Last Airbender.
*sigh* I enjoyed them both, also. But I can think of nothing to say of them. Even I'm starting to agree with our detractors, that we're not funny.
But we're not trying to be funny. I thought we cleared that up yesterday. We're just trying to discuss shit we like.
We don't have to be so boring about it, though. Perhaps I'm just disappointed that many of our viewers don't share our interests.
So why the hell do they bother watching? Hell, I don't want anyone watching us if they don't like the show. There are plenty of people who do like us, let them watch.
Hai, I suppose the others can watch something they do like. It's a free country, as you Americans are so fond of saying.

by bakawaii
4-23-05
Right on. Now, did you see that Whiscash on Pokemon this morning? Dude, I totally loved how it ate that master ball at the end!
Hai! *giggle* When the fisherman threw it, i was like "Why did you bother battling if you had master ball?" And then the fish ate it! Ha ha ha!
Yeah. Well, at least Ash got his badges back. It'd totally suck to lose them after all the hard work of earning them.
Agreed, of course, Benny-san. Speaking of fish, I also enjoyed Jack Spicer's koibots on Xiaolin Showdown this morning.
Cool concept, even if they seemed even weaker than his normal Jackbots. Still, that ninjabot was a nice touch. Occasionally Jack does something right.
Hai, I like Jack. It was also nice to meet Kimiko's father. And in the second episode, to see Jack mock Wuya when she lost against Kimiko.

by bakawaii
4-23-05
Totally! Well, anyway. What else? Um... I've got some shows taped I need to watch. And later there's Andromeda, Duel Masters, Rave Master, Zatch Bell...
Hai, and One Piece comes to Toonami tonight, as well. I would like to see if it is less edited than the dub I've been watching on the WB.
Yeah, me too. Hey, what up with that, btw? 4kidsTV, formerly the FoxBox, is s'posed to be on Fox. Why has it always been on the WB, in some markets?
I am sure I don't know, Benny-san. I am also fairly confident that I do not care. However, I think tonight's rerun of Teen Titans may be an ep I missed, before.
Okay. Have fun with that. *sigh* I'm getting bored. Is it almost time for Adult Swim?
Of course not, it is still many hours away. And it is raining out. And cold. I too grow depressed. This has been our worst episode ever! At least it was a bit shorter than usual. Sayonara!

by bakawaii
4-24-05
Ohayou! Well, I enjoyed last night's Teen Titans rerun which I had not seen before, immensely!
Me too. Especially the commercial... "the makers of Azarath and Metrion are proud to introduce... Zinthos." That whole bit was great.
Totally, as you are so fond of saying, Benny-san!
Heh, y'know, Momoiro-san, sometimes you kinda remind me of Starfire.
Arigatou! And you may remind me of Robin, with a dash of Beast Boy!
Jeepers, thanks, Momoiro! Now let's see, what other shows were on? Andromeda was cool, they finally got Rommie back! Diggin' the new dominatrix look, too.

by bakawaii
4-24-05
Oh, Benny-san, you are always too much the talking about the hotties!
You know what they say... those who talk about it usually ain't gettin' any. Or words to that effect. Well, I figure, I ain't ever gonna get the girl, so I might as well enjoy the talkin'.
And, obviously, the viddying.
You gots that right, my droogie. Which reminds me, someday I totally gotta get me the Kubrick Collection on DVD.
Hai. It's good to have dreams, undreamable though they may be.
Yeah, whatev. Anyway... I'll always have TV. Let's see, Duel Masters was hilarious as ever, with all the ridiculous dialog and pop culture refs. Though I miss Sayuki and Mimi. They're disturbingly hot

by bakawaii
4-24-05
There you go again! What about Rave Master?
Way cooler show, though not as funny. Sad about Haru's dad dying, but of course, Elie's really hot, and that ain't disturbing. One track mind!
More importantly, it looks like next week's ep may answer some big questions about her. Or not.
Yeah, hard to say, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. At least it should have some answers about Resha Valentine, whether we find out her connection to Elie or not.
Say, Benny-san, have you ever thought how interesting it is there are so many characters in anime named Valentine?
Yeah... Resha, Mai, Faye... probably lots of others that escape me at the moment. And not just characters. Y'know, Gundam SEED finished last week...

by bakawaii
4-24-05
Hai, and of course, the Bloody Valentine massacre of Junius 7 was what started the war, 11 months prior to the start of the series.
yep, that's what I was goin' fer. Well, I guess anime loves its Valentines.
Which reminds me, you never got me a White Day gift this year.
Dude, that's cuz we didn't meet until April, and White Day's in March. I mean, it's not like you got me any Barentain's dei chocolates, either.
Oh, silly me! Gosh, Benny-san, I guess it just feels like we've known each other forever! Oh well, there's always next year.
But hey, it's cherry blossom season now, and in that spirit, I'll fix you a cup of Gevalia's Ancient Cherry green tea....

Oh, Benny-san, I love that tea! Alas, there are no cherry blossoms around here. The past two days have been so snowy, and today there have been power outages in some areas.
I know. Weather like this is a total bitch after a few weeks of such summery weather, with all the snow long gone, and seemingly done with for the year.
Hai. *sigh* But at least a cup of hot tea is nice on a cold day. And also you got in another product placement! Plus, we are lucky that our power did not go out.
True dat, I dunno what I'd do if I'd missed my shows. Which reminds me, Zatch Bell was decent last night. That new girl was a hottie. Shame her mamodo had to lose so soon...
Which probably means we won't see the human girl again. How will you deal with the loss of your newest beloved "hottie"?
Ah well, that other blond girl from earlier eps will no doubt be around quite awhile, she's nice too. So was that botanical girl last week. And Susie's nice, even if her face is a bit... underdrawn.

Oh, Benny-san, sometimes I wonder if you'd even watch anime at all if you didn't have a thing for all the anime girls.
Hells yeah I would! My appreciation of anime girls' beauty is just a bonus. I really watch mainly for the stories. Or in the case of something like Duel Masters, for the humor.
It is good to know this. So, after Zatch was One Piece. What did you think?
Yo, I tried to watch, but I couldn't. I wasn't interested, since I'd seen it before, plus the early eps weren't that good, anyway. I just kept it on in the background while I surfed the web.
Well, I watched, and I must say, I didn't notice any less editing than on 4KidsTV, so I probably won't watch any more on Toonami. But you're right, the later eps are definitely better.
Welp, that's all the anime for now. I taped Adult Swim, I'll probly watch Fullmetal Alchemist, GitS:SAC, and Inuyasha on the tape later tonight...

As well, I suppose, as Mew Mew Power and One Piece on the WB, which you will no doubt have taped this morning.
No doubt. Well, what else? Hmmm, you see Enterprise this week?
Oh, Benny-san, you know I haven't watched that since the first season. I was so disappointed with it! It is not real Star Trek, in my mind.
Yo, I think of it as glorified fanfic, myself. Mostly it isn't that good, especially compared with previous seasons. So I tend to consider it apocryphal, but it has its moments.
Hmmm, apocryphal, you say?
I picked that up from Dave. He mentioned that Roddenberry considered Star Trek V apocryphal, so Dave decided to consider any individual episodes of any series he chose as apocryphal...

Wait, did you say "compared with previous seasons"?
Huh? Oh, yeah, guess I did. Sorry, I meant previous series. Anyway, Dave considers pretty much all of Enterprise to be apocryphal, and I concur.
So why bother watching it at all?
Well, like I said, it has its moments. Plus, of course, Hoshi's totally hot.
*rolleyes* And what of T'Pol?
Meh, not really my type. She's okay, but... that whole thing where writers and producers try to sexy up their shows for ratings, it just turns me off. Especially on Star Trek shows.

But Benny-san, I thought you enjoyed fan service? Didn't you recently say of the Kim Possible movie, "Kim and Shego fighting in evening gowns, now that's what I call fan service... Disney style!"
Heh heh, yeah... Oh well, I guess I only enjoy it in anime and cartoons. I'm sick like that.
Indeed, Benny-san.
Anyway... I like lots of real live girls. On TV. Lot of Trek girls. Like Hoshi. Of course, I've also got a thing for Asian girls, though I suspect everyone does. Even if they aren't aware of it.
*sigh* What are we going to do with you, Benny-san?
Whateva you want, Baby! Just kidding. I'd never compromise our friendship, nor our professional relationship.

Most assuredly, you would not. For I certainly would not. And I do not appreciate such jokes.
All apologies, Momoiro-san. I just thought it'd be okay for friends to joke about stuff. We do it all the time, right? Like how you razz me for not having a girlfriend...
You are right, I know we say such things without intending offense, and none is generally taken. I'm sorry if I seem overly sensitive. I didn't mean to be.
Aw, that's okay, pal! How 'bout a hug?
Iie. Nice try, though, horn-dog. Now, was there anything serious you had to say about Enterprise, or did you just want to talk about Hoshi being hot?
Oh, right! Well, this week was the first of a 2-parter, a mirror universe episode. The first time this series has done that, and it rocked...

How so, Benny-san?
Well, it starts with a scene out of First Contact, at the end, when the Vulcan ship lands and the Vulcan greets Zefram Cochrane, right? Only then, Cochrane pulls a gun and shoots the Vulcan!
Oh my! How violently un-Treklike!
That's how they do things in the M.U., bitch!
M.U.? Ah, I see, Mirror Universe. You made like it was the O.C. Very clever and amusing.
Meh, not so much. But I try. Anyway, then the humans all rush the ship and steal it, and thus is born the Terran Empire. Credits roll, but it's a whole new T.E. opening sequence...

Mirror! Benny's on the left now! He should be on the right in this episode!
Yeah, complete with violent images and dark theme music! It was so cool! And no one from our Universe was in the episode at all! Plus Hoshi was even hotter than usual. She was the Captain's Woman.
Oh my, Hoshi and Captain Archer?
Neh, Archer was a commander. You know Admiral Forrest? Well in the MU, he's captain of Enterprise. Though Commander Archer mutinied and was in control for awhile...
And Hoshi?
She went whichever way the wind blew. Say, you remember the Captain's Woman from the original series' Mirror episode? Marlena Moreau?
Sort of...

Well I was talkin' to Dave, and he says he has like a 9" doll of her, he got from Kaybee Toys.
Oh, bakawaii-senpai! Not you as well! Have you too been infected by Benny-san's, um, hottie-over-appreciation disorder?
Not so much. I do share Benny's taste in women, for the most part, but... I try to talk about it less. Then again, I have less luck with the ladies than he does. Because I don't even try.
Why not, bakawaii-senpai?
Just because. You know. What with the hating myself, and all. But it's complicated, far too much so to go into here and now. Besides, viewers will lose interest if I stay on the show too long.
Surely not! Still... I suppose they do tune in expecting to see Benny-san and myself....
