Ai ya!
Thought so.
So, what else? Oh hai, the Showbiz Show is okay, though we don't make a point of watching it...
Or rather we tend to forget. Same with the Colbert Report. It's decent, but if we can't even remember to watch the Daily Show most nights... how can we remember this one?
Well then on Saturday mornings there's also Flight 29 Down on NBC... which is like "Lost" for kids...
...except that it kinda sucks. The girls are kinda hot, though. Specially Taylor. Who I don't like...

Anyway, then there's Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo. Which, the first episode kinda sucked, but the show kinda grows on you...
Yeah, though I don't always pay enough attention to it, I'm often doing something online while it's on. It's kinda funny though.
And then there's Yu-Gi-Oh GX... which is okay, but so far I'm not liking it as much as the original...
True that, plus I wish they would've held off till WB finished showing the original series. But hey, it's nice to have some dueling that isn't all end of the world type stuff...
I agree, for now, though I look forward to something serious happening. I mean, when Yu-Gi-Oh first started, I didn't like it till it started getting serious.
Word. Well, what else? Squidbillies is just sort of tolerable. 12 oz Mouse hasn't done much for me yet, but it has some short-term potential.

Hai, it has that funny randomness Adult Swim's original cartoons are famous for, but I feel like it would wear thin before too long.
Right. More importantly- they've finally started airing Neon Genesis Evangelion. Very popular anime for many years. We've both seen the whole thing, but Dave hasn't...
...So we must avoid saying anything to spoil it for him. Although he's been saying so far he doesn't think it's so great...
He did say he liked the second ep more than the first, and it has promise. Of course he'll stick it out, and I don't think he'll be disappointed. Of course, the fanservice...
Hush, Benny-san, this is a family show! Do not speak of such things.
Dude, are you sure? Nobody ever told me Nanika atta was a family show. I think you're wrong... either way, one would probably do better to get the DVDs, not that Dave could afford that...

Oh, and bakawaii-senpai was saying Gendo Ikari reminds him of the Venture Bros. somehow, but he can't remember quite how.
Guess he should watch some reruns, then. I'm sure I don't know, I haven't watched it in awhile, either. That's weird, though.
Well, what else? Um, I don't remember if we ever mentioned "Naturally, Sadie" on Disney Channel...
I don't remember either. Decent little show, nothing too great. Haven't seen any new eps in a while though. And that reminds me, we definitely haven't mentioned "Life With Derek."
Hai. Not a great show, but worth checking out. It really is funny to see the geek from Strange Days at Blake Holsey High playing a popular kid, and hottie.
True that. So, is he a hottie? I really can't tell, but they say he is on the show, so whatever... I think Casey is, though.

Well, I wouldn't say he's my type, Benny-san, but I don't think there's anything wrong with others finding him so. Oh! We forgot to mention Loonatics Unleashed!
Yeah. Bit of a disappointment. Better than Johnny Test, though. And I barely managed to force myself to watch the first ep of Coconut Fred, and never again.
Then there's Naruto, I don't think we mentioned that, either. Now that show's really pretty fun.
Yep. I do hope the title character starts acting a bit more seriously, though. But I love his catch phrase. Believe it!
And, um... The Batman vs. Dracula was fairly decent. Better than the average episode of The Batman, at least.
Yeah, it was a'ight, I guess. Oh, seriously looking forward to Kakurenbo tomorrow night on Adult Swim. Should be some fun for Halloween!

Hai, and to a lesser extent, I want to see Daughter of the Devil Sunday night on Adult Swim.
Yeah, that's worth checking out. Oh yeah, also on Nov. 5 is the premiere of IGPX on Toonami. Definitely wanna check that, though I really wish I could see the original microseries.
Bakawaii-senpai keeps saying the same thing. None of us saw the whole thing when it first aired a few years ago. It's a shame.
They really should show it on Cartoon Network sometime. But we should try harder to find a download or torrent or something...
Even if we don't, I'm sure it isn't really important for the enjoyment of the new series.
Yeah anyway. November 6, the delayed series premiere of Boondocks finally arrives. Greatly anticipating that...

Hai, I've always loved the comic strip, even if I don't get to read it much. I know I could read it online, but... you know...
Yeah... I tried subscribing to it, but reading it in email just doesn't do it for me...
Well... looking forward to Chicken Little?
I'd sorta like to see it. I enjoy hearing "Dragostea din tei" now and then in the ads. But I dunno... More interested in Zathura...
Of course, it just isn't the same going to movies without bakawaii-senpai.
True. I wish he'd get hisself a damn job already...

by bakawaii
10-28-05
Of course, the new Harry Potter also starts next month...
Yeah, but even if he had money, Dave wouldn't wanna see it, cuz he's only seen the first one so far. Dude never gets to see movies, does he?
I'm sure that shall change eventually. Meanwhile, there's always TV. Nov. 19 is the season premiere of Ghost in the Shell, I think, and new eps of Samurai Champloo.
Hopefully, if Adult Swim hasn't changed their schedule again. And the 20th should be the premiere of Perfect Hair Forever.
Well, I think that takes us through most of the major things we wanted to mention about October and November.
Prob'ly. And good thing, too, this episode has been starting to get too long. And we haven't even said anything that interesting yet!

Hmmm... well, go ahead, Benny-san. Say something interesting, then.
Did I mention my new blog?
Hai.
Um... you planning on starting a blog?
Iie, I don't think so. I mean, I hadn't really thought about it. Maybe I'll wait and see how yours goes. If it's a rousing success, maybe I'll finally jump on the bandwagon.
Meh, even if mine sucks and/or nobody likes it, that doens't mean yours wouldn't be cool and popular. You know, with the shojo crowd... Anyway, Dave and I would surely read it...

by bakawaii
10-28-05
I know, Benny-san, and I appreciate that. Although I'm not sure what you meant by "shojo crowd," should I take offense?
Probably, but you know me, I was just goofin'. I'm sure anyone would like your blog, if you had one. And I'm not just aimin' fer the shonen crowd with mine, either.
Although I wouldn't doubt there'll be plenty of talk of hotties...
Hey, don't tell me you wouldn't talk about hotties in your blog, too.
Not as much as you would.
Dude... I've only done one post so far, and no mention of hotties. Quit raggin' on my blog!

Sumanai, Benny-san. Just trying to think of things to say till bakawaii-senpai says into our earpieces to wrap it up...
Yeah, why hasn't he told us to end the show yet? It's already long...
ZZZZZZZZZZ
Oh, dude, he's asleep! Ai ya! We're probably cuttin' into the next show's time by now! Wake up, Dave!!
Well, let's just end it anyway. It's a shame we haven't done anything entertaining tonight. I suppose it's not his fault he fell asleep...
Man, when a guy who practically has insomnia... ah, nevermind. Uh, yeah, so... oyasumi, America! See ya next time, and have a great Halloween!

Konnichiwa. Welp, our top story is yesterday's election, here in Maine. Some officials, well, I didn't vote for nobody cuz I don't know nobody. I just went for the initiatives.
Hai, and the one in particular that interested us was question one, upon which Benny-san, bakawaii-senpai, and I all voted "no."
"Do you want to reject the new law that would protect people from discrimination in employment, housing, education, public accommodations and credit based on their sexual orientation?"
Luckily, about 55% of the state agreed with us. As for the 45% who voted "yes," I think most of them aren't in favor of discrimination, they're just worried it will lead to the right to marry.
As if disallowing marriage wasn't discrimination.
True, I think it's discrimination. I know some people are more concerned about gay couples getting tax breaks than anything else. They just don't want to pay for it, y'know?
Hai, because money is a moral unto itself, and generally considered the highest moral in fact...

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Still, there are probably some folks who actually are in favor of discrimination. On the other hand, some who voted "no" are probably also against gay marriage, for whatever reason.
Hai, to an extent it doesn't really matter if you're for or against homosexuality in general, you just have to ask yourself what you're more against: homosexuality or discrimination.
Of course, despite what many people think, the law has nothing at all to do with marriage.
No, although one can understand how some might be worried that the anti-discrimination law passing (and subsequently failing to be repealed) would open the door for marriage in the future.
It is indeed a slippery slope. And while you and I may believe gays should have the right to marry, right now I'm not really worried about that....
Hai, for now we should just be happy they'll be allowed the same access to jobs, education, housing, etc. Denying them these things would be tantamount to denying them the right to live.

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Word. Talk about your passive aggression... some people might not be willing to go out and beat up a gay, but if you allow them to be denied housing... dude, in Maine? Winter coming...?
Sounds like murder to me.
No joke. ...Ahem, but speaking of jokes... it may be about time to change the subject to lighter fare...
This is an entertainment show, after all. Which reminds me of last night's Boston Legal, the case about the clown talking about global warming and whatnot...
Yeah, I totally think it was fair of the company to fire him. If he wants to talk about that stuff, let him get a damn news show or something. Maybe he could work for Linda Ellerbee...
Hmmm. Maybe you watch too much Nickelodeon, Benny-san...

A'ight, what else is there to talk about? Things are getting good on Gilmore Girls. I so can't wait for next week's big reconciliation between Lorelai and Rory!
Oh, I know! Fans have been waiting all season, in fact since the end of last season. I know I'll have my tissue box handy, how about you, Benny-san?
Meh, I'm sure my eyes will water a bit. But I shouldn't need tissues. Unless Lorelai and Rory are in negligees when they make up...
What are you talking... Oh! Ai ya! You're so gross! Can you even say something like that on television?
Oh, I've heard a few jokes like that before, on broadcast even, let alone cable. Anyway, hell, Dave was even saying one of these days we might all do the show drunk.
The censors would surely love that... oh, wait, I forgot. Jacuzzi doesn't have any censors, said they couldn't afford them... But what about the FCC?

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Well, you know, my opinion of the FCC is best illustrated by the movie "Pump Up the Volume." Pirate radio, cable TV, it's all the same.
You think we'd be better off if the FCC didn't exist?
I think they serve a useful purpose. I just think they need to lighten up. Which is just what I was saying, coincidentally, after this past Sunday's episode of "Family Guy."
Right. Anyway. But like it or not, they have power. You think they'd let us drink on air without any repercussions?
You've never seen people drink on TV?
Well, I mean... you know, being drunk... more to the point, real people, not characters... on a talk show... It seems sort of wrong.

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Jeez, Momoiro, forget the FCC, you're the one who's gotta lighten up!
Fine. Remind me again how we got on this subject?
Um, a joke about tissues...
Oh, hai. And where have you heard jokes like that?
Well, this one time on Veronica Mars, Weevil said something to Logan...
Oh, right, I'd forgotten. Anyway, speaking about Veronica Mars, tonight I think is the long-awaited episode that features Joss Whedon!

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Right on! Joss Whedon is a god. I can't wait. I mean, I can never wait for a new ep of Veronica, but I especially can't wait to see Joss...
I think it's a very minor, walk-on sort of role...
That's as may be, we'll have to see... but I can still hardly wait. Oh, speaking of Veronica, new issue of GIANT came in the mail today...
Hai, I saw bakawaii-senpai mentioned this earlier on his board. Interview of Kristen Bell with sexy pictures. A one track mind, you have, Benny-san.
Dude, my mind's 8-track at least! Or actually more of a CD mind. Or DVD. Man, I totally gotta buy season one of Veronica Mars...
Ai ya, you're getting to be as bad as bakwaii-senpai, when it comes to stream-of-consciousness!

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Right, okay, so what else were we going to talk about?
I notice your blog isn't getting many hits.
Gee, thanks, Momoiro-san. Btw, I notice you haven't replied to any of my entries yet.
Oh, hai... um... well, I've been busy. You know. Um... so, how's the website coming? Not to change the subject, or anything...
Of course not. Well, yeah, that's another thing I wanted to mention. New job as webmaster for Jacuzzi's new website. It's... slow. I've got a bit done about our show, but nothing else yet.
You really need to add some other of the network's shows and stars, company profile, etc.

by bakawaii

http://www.geocities.com/jacuzzi_central/
Yeah yeah. You can't rush genius, my friend. Besides, today I just had an idea. I want to add an episode guide for our show. Like on TV Tome!
You mean TV.com
Man, don't even get me started on TV.com, Momoiro-san! You know...
Hai, I know, Benny-san. We all miss TV Tome.
Anyways, we need to talk about TV shows on other networks. Um... the pilot of Viewtiful Joe was... interesting. Although it wasn't really the pilot.
I know. I so wish Kids' WB would have shown the first episode. Still, I'll keep watching the series. Should be funny.

Let's see... I thought Kakurenbo was pretty cool, very atmospheric, as Dave put it, but still, neither of us enjoyed it quite as much as we'd hoped to.
Agreed. Could've stood to be scarier. But the animation was beautiful!
You're not wrong. I'll probably get it on DVD someday just for the artwork alone. But also I wouldn't mind seeing the story again, trying to see if it makes more sense the second time.
Not that anime has ever had any particular need of making sense...
True dat. I'd just like to get a better sense of who the characters are, and what's going on. And I'd like to see all the oni. There are supposed to be 4, but I only ever saw one or two.
Okay. Well, then there's IGPX. Seems okay so far. Not sure what else to say. Um... I like Amy and Luca...

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Gosh, a human and a cat who link up cybernetically? Who woulda thunk you'd be interested in that, Nekomimi?
Shut up. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the show?
Well, I think it should be interesting to see if this whole American-Japanese anime co-production thing can work out, it should serve as a valuable harbinger of things to come...
If it's successful, it could represent a new artistic & business model for future anime production and storytelling, not to mention international licensing.
Plus, it looks like it'll have plenty of hotties. I'm already quite liking Liz...
*rolleyes* I was getting scared there, for a minute.

by bakawaii
11-09-05
It's also got plenty of cool voice talent. Takeshi is played by Haley Joel Osment, Liz by Michelle Rodriguez, there's also Mark Hamill, Lance Henriksen, and Tom Kenny, to name a few.
Always fun to recognize familiar seiyuu.
Dude, I didn't say I recognized their voices. I just read about it. It's a shame, I'll have to listen more closely from now on.
Okay. Anyway, what next? Oh yes, Boondocks! As bakawaii-senpai has said elsewhere, they use the N-word too much, but otherwise it's pretty cool.
Yeah, not as good as the strip yet, but I liked the first ep, and I look forward to more. I'm sure it'll improve. And I think it's impressive they can actually say the N-word on TV.
Albeit late night cable with an MA rating. And while I don't approve of the word, at least its use makes the show somewhat more realistic, which I can appreciate from an artistic standpoint.

by bakawaii
11-09-05
Welp, anyway. Here we are, coming to the close of our 20th episode. Not our best episode, but I think it's definitely better than the last one.
At least it's shorter. That's a plus. Um, I can't think of anything else to say, I guess.
Me neither. We'll probably think of something later and kick ourselves. Oh, that girl Kole on saturday's Teen Titans? Sooo kawaii!
OMG, I can't believe we almost ended the show without you saying that! it would have been a national tragedy!
benny.iro@gmail.com
Y'know, apropos of nothing, if Hollywood ever made a movie based on Nanika atta America, I wonder who would play us? Something to think about.
Maybe viewers could email us their suggestions, and we can discuss it on a future episode. But we're out of time for now. Sayonara minna!

Ha ha!
Ha ha!
Ha ha!
Ha ha! Tachikoma are so great!

Dammit, I made that last strip while logged in to a different damn handle. How the hell did it get posted in this strip?

Konbanwa, Benny-san! And America... nanika atta? ...America isn't answering. What's up with you, Benny-san?
Welp, my blog still not getting alot of viewers, let alone feedback. But if anyone did read my blog, they might learn a few things sooner than if they wait for the show.
Such as?
Like, I ain't working on Jacuzzi's website anymore. They don't feel the need for a website. This doesn't bode well, I fear.
Oh my, do you think we'll need to look for another network to pick us up, Benny-san?
Well, my cat-eared friend, unless you're also part koi or something... I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Oh, Benny-san, are you saying we have no chance of getting picked up, if the network goes under? Could this be the end of Nanika atta, America?!
Well, kid, I think we're lucky to have lasted as long as we did. I mean, I dunno... there are a few new anime-based networks, maybe one of them would be interested in us...
Perhaps... *sigh* But maybe it's time to give up the ghost, after all. What does bakawaii-senpai think?
Dave, you know, he's a pessimist. I think he's prepared for the worst. But, we haven't been cancelled yet. No sense dwelling on what might be.
Hai, it reminds me of the story of the Three Sillies.
I guess it does, yeah. But this is no time for fables and fairy tales, either. We've got more important things to talk about...

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Oh, hai. Another thing I remember from your blog was you were going to tell us about schedule changes on Adult Swim!
Right you are, Momoiro. Well, to begin with, the weeks of Christmas and New Year's, they're all screwed up, which isn't surprising.
Beyond that, things get fuzzier, when they should be returning to normal. On a positive note, it seems Inuyasha will have its season premiere, which is good. It's been gone awhile now.
However, it's on the night of Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 12:30am (so technically January 4). It's not listed on the next Saturday, which is about as far as the schedule shows so far.
So I dunno if it's going to be new episodes every Tuesday, or what, but if so, it'll be really weird not watching it on Saturdays.
And speaking of Saturdays, here's the lineup on Jan. 7: Boondocks at 11, Stroker & Hoop at 11:30, Fullmetal Alchemist at midnight, Ghost in the Shell at 12:30, Evangelion at 1, and Bebop at 1:30.

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Ai ya! Bebop again? Really, I love it to death, but I almost never watch it since I've already seen it so many times, and I'm planning on buying the Remix DVDs once they put out a box set...
I feel ya, Momoiro, and Dave and I feel the same way. Still, get keeps getting good numbers, so of course they're gonna keep playing it.
Anyway, what becomes of Samurai Champloo?
Well, on its page at adultswim.com, I don't see episodes listed past Dec. 23; however at TV.com, I see it listed on Jan. 5. Meanwhile, adult swim's main schedule does list it on the 4th...
The 4th? So I presume it's after midnight, hence both sources are in agreement, despite appearances to the contrary.
That's the way I figure it, Momoiro. Wednesday night at 12:30am, or if you prefer, Thursday morning. Either way, it's one night after the season premiere of InuYasha, in the same time slot.

by bakawaii
12-20-05
So then, will it be on Wednesday nights from now on?
Presumably. TV.com has it listed every Thursday through January 26. After that, who can say?
Benny-san... is there really much point in telling us things we could all just look up on our own just as easily? These are hardly industry insider sources you're quoting.
Yeh, but what's the harm in saving our viewers the trouble? I may not have inside sources, but I'm still performing a public service, here.
I guess so. So, what about s-CRY-ed?
Well, I guess it's over, but I know Dave missed the last ep cuz of some SNAFU with the timer... And I do see it listed Mon-Thu nights at 1am, at least as far as Jan. 9. That's where the schedule ends.

by bakawaii
12-20-05
So if that keeps up, hopefully eventually he'll be able to catch the ep he missed, hmm? Anyway, are there other changes to make note of?
Meh, I dunno, there's reruns of all kinds of comedy and action shows throughout the week. Sunday seems essentially unchanged for now...
What about Aqua Teen Hunger Force?
Should still be on at 12:15am, though it'll be reruns. It sure was nice though, to have 3 new eps recently. Man, did that rock! No telling when we'll get more new eps, but they're working on the movie
Oh, hai! I am so looking forward to the Aqua Teen movie! When will that be out?
I'm afraid I have no idea. Sometime in 2006, I guess. Wikipedia says Spring, but I don't think that's confirmed.

by bakawaii
12-20-05
So, now that that's out of the way, is there anything else worth talking about?
Hmmm... did I tell you I caught a wild Gengar one day in Pokemon Yellow?
I read about it in your blog. Hurrah for game glitches, I guess. Done anything else interesting in the game since then?
Not that cool. Seriously, wild Gengar just don't exist! It's impossible!
Don't tell you're still "geeking out" about it?
Neh, haven't thought much of it recently. But, y'know, since you brought it up, I thought I might as well show a little enthusiasm...

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Actually, Benny-san, you brought it up. I merely asked if there was anything to talk about.
Oh yeah! Heh, sorry about that. Well let me think. Um, I guess our last ep was prior to the season finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender. So we should mention how much that rocked.
It totally rocked! How much exactly would you say it rocked?
It rocked like an earthbender!
*rolleyes* Oh, Benny-san, that joke sucked. But I suppose that's what you were going for. Anyway, when is the next season?
I wish I knew! Could be January, February, March, Summer... who knows? It's impossible to find anything conclusive. Can't find anything about the next season of W.I.T.C.H., either. Really bugs me.

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Well, is there anything going on we do know about?
Let's see... saw The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. That was way awesome! And of course, Susan's kind of a hottie, I think. The White Witch is hot, too. But cold!
I thought Lucy was the best character.
Oh, totally. Such an adorable little kid, and the sense of wonderment on her face just made me feel like I was a kid again, myself.
Exactly. Anyway, I'm greatly looking forward to sequels being made of all 7 books. Meanwhile, what other movies are we interested in?
King Kong I wanna see, and definitely Memoirs of a Geisha. Dave said he wanted to get some cherry green tea from Republic of Tea in a special Memoirs tin. I hope he finds one. Ooh, product placement!

by bakawaii
12-20-05
I bet I know the three main reasons you wanna see Geisha...
Right on. Their names are Ziyi Zhang, Gong Li, and Michelle Yeoh.
Does it bother you having Chinese actresses play Japanese roles?
Meh, a little, I guess. But dammit, they's all so hot, it's hard to care too much, y'know?
And what about Ken Watanabe?
Dude's cool, always happy to see him. Not as happy as you, I'm guessing...

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Well, perhaps. Anyway, we haven't had a chance to see the movie yet. I hope it will be as good as... well, as I'm hoping!
Yeah, me too. Anyway... oh yeah, also wanted to say I enjoyed the special holiday eps of Monk and The Dead Zone.
Hai, they were good. I especially liked Martina Sorbara singing "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" at the end of The Dead Zone.
Right on, her rendition rocked. Dave sent me the mp3 the other day, too, but we both wanna get it on CD.
What about The Triangle? What did you think? I know you were looking forward to it for months...
Damn, man, stupid machine didn't tape it! Now I have no idea when I'll catch reruns, if ever! They'll prob'ly put it out on DVD, but I ain't gonna buy it sight unseen, y'know?

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Sorry to hear that, Benny-san. I wish I would have taped it so you could watch it.
Meh, I'm over it. I still hope to see it someday, but whatev. I'm sure there's other stuff to discuss. Oh, Moral Orel! You see that?
Hai. It was... okay. I still wanna check out the series, whenever it starts. But, I dunno...
Yeah, same here. How 'bout Perfect Hair Forever?
Definitely interesting. Kind of stupid, but still funny. I like how it seems to simultaneously mock both anime and Williams Street randomness.
Right on. I don't think there's enough Gerald in the show, usually, though. And there's definitely not enough Brenda...

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Please don't tell me you think she's hot! Everyone in that show is so ridiculously drawn!
Listen, man, otakuphrenia is a sickness, okay?
*sigh* Whatever. So what else is there to discuss?
Serenity comes out on DVD today. I'm totally gonna get that, as should everyone.
Hai, me too. Um... okay, how about the Chrismukkah episode of The O.C.?
How could Chrismukkah ever fail to totally rock? Come on!

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Right. And then there's the Doctor Who Christmas Invasion special on CBC on Dec. 26, that should be fun.
Oh, you know I'll totally be watching that! And I dunno when the next season starts, but I'm totally looking forward to that, too!
Totally?
Totally! ...Okay, and Dec. 27 Nowhere Man comes out on DVD, Dave wanted me to be sure to plug that, even though I've never seen it.
Maybe he'll get himself the DVDs and we can all watch them together.
A'ight, sure, sounds like a plan. If he ever has any money. Of course, we can always enjoy the annual Twilight Zone New Year's marathon on Sci-Fi Channel, no charge!

by bakawaii
12-20-05
Except for the cable bill, of course, but that gets paid anyway...
Right, well, let's see... Battlestar Galactica returns from hiatus January 6. I think Bloodrayne comes out the same day, but I'm not sure. I'd kinda like to see that, though.
And on January 10, The Flash comes out on DVD. I know bakawaii-senpai wants that, as well.
I'd definitely like to see it, myself. I have only the vaguest impressions of having seen it when it was first on.
And I've never seen it! Well, yet another thing the three of us could do together sometime.
Right on. Now, Jan. 13, Monk returns from hiatus on USA. And I think that day they also have the premiere of Ben 10 on Cartoon Network, though its regular timeslot premiere is the next morning.

I do want to check that out. Could be cool, could suck. But I definitely want to check it out. Also on the 13th there are 4 movies opening that I'd like to see.
Right, actually three of them are just opening wide after limited release, Hoodwinked, The New World, and The Producers.
One might think we'd most look forward to Hoodwinked, being animation, but of the three of those films, I think the one I most want to see is The New World.
Yeah, I wanna check out that Kilcher girl whose first name I can't remember. Except that it's not Jewel. Not in the slightest.
I'm not even sure what that means, Benny-san, but I thought you liked Jewel Kilcher.
Meh, I used to. I guess I've nothing against her. No, I don't even know what I meant. But anyway, I wanna check out this girl, that's all I'm sayin'.

Okay. Anyway, more than any of the other movies opening that day, it's Tristan & Isolde that I want to see.
Yeah, me too, I guess. I mean none of them are things I'm desperate to see, but yeah. I also sort of want to see Nanny McPhee, I guess.
Me too. Plus there are a few TV series premiering in January, like Love Monkey, Crumbs, The Jenna Elfman Show...
Yeah, maybe even other stuff, I dunno. Nothing I'm terribly optimistic about, but it couldn't hurt to check them out, if we get a chance. Meanwhile, I'm really looking forward to getting Avatar on DVD
Hai, but they're just putting out vol. 1 of Book 1 in January, I don't know about the others. I think I heard vol. 2 is in March, and there should be 3 more volumes after that.
Yeah, I always like to wait for a full season set, but it's going to be a bit of torture... Oh hey, did you read Dave's little Avatar fanfic? The first and so far only thing he's put on fanfiction.net

Hai... it was... interesting.
Aptly put. Well, I think... that's about all there was to talk about this time, which...
Yo, wait up, my man! You said you'd have me on today to read one of my poems!
Oh, Joe-san! We forgot! I'm so sorry!
Yeah, dude, you should've spoken up sooner! We're all out of time, now!
Well, I don't like to interrupt, you know? I mean, what is this, like, Politically Incorrect or something, with everyone, like, constantly interrupting everyone else, or what?

America, this is Joe Beats-san, an old friend of our producer, bakawaii-senpai. He's a real live beat poet!
Right on. He was totally going to be like, our first guest ever! And possibly our last...
Well, you know, man, it's cool. A talk show just ain't a talk show unless someone gets bumped at some point. Glad I could help in at least that respect!
Oh, but Joe-san, I was so looking forward to hearing some poetry! It might give this show a little touch of class, for once!
Hells yeah, man. Besides, a talk show ain't a talk show without ever having a single guest on, either! Maybe we could make a little time for you. The network's pretty loose about its schedule..
Dig! My man, I totally appreciate that. ...One little thing, though, I suddenly realize I kinda forgot to prepare anything, anyway!

Oh, but we absolutely insist! I'm sure someone as talented as you could come up with something on the spot!
Yeah, dude, seriously! Someone dim the lights or something! Change the backdrop, I dunno...
Well, okay, if y'all insist, I'll see what I can come up with...
Dig! What stage is this, whose backdrop changed, so late the show can be running? For poetry to be read, at the behest of pink-haired girl most stunning?
This, this is Nanika atta, What's up, America? the title asks in greeting. Its run, they say, may too soon end, just as all life is fleeting.
26 is anime's magic number, so here's wishing for 5 more eps of a show this toony. But even if such count it does not reach, tonight's time is up, so for now I say... oyasumi!

Ah, time to settle my brain for a long winter's nap...!
Benny... Iro...
That's my name, don't wear it out!
Benny... Iro...!
Dude, I said don't wear it out! You deaf or sumpin?

Sorry, man, sometimes I get stuck in a "mode," you feel me?
Yo, whatev. So what's your deal, anyway? Who are you, or should I say who were you? And what are you doing in my crib?
In life I was your partner, um... you know...
Jacob Marley?
Nah, dude. He was Ebenezer Scrooge's partner. I think we pretty well established that I know your name's Benny Iro...
Ah yeah, my bad. So um... I dunno, like maybe I should mention I never had a business partner? Unless you count Momoiro, but I'm pretty sure she's not dead.

Right, okay, I wasn't your partner. I was...
...
...Still waiting.
Okay, gimme a minute, I'm thinking!
Kinda hard to do without a physical brain, I gather. So I get it, man. Just... you know, try to speed it up a little. I gotta get up early to open presents, y'know.

Okay, look. I'll be honest. We've actually never met. They sent me in here to do a job, didn't give me a script or cover story or nothin'. I told them I don't do improv, but noooo...
Who exactly is "they," if you don't mind my asking?
...Well?
Um... y'know that script they didn't give me? Yeah, their names weren't on it.
Makes sense, I guess. So what's the job?
