Explaining Vegetarianism

What made you decide to become a vegetarian?
I just think eating animals is kind of gross.
I don't get it.
Let me put it this way: Would you eat the Japanese delicacy shirako - fish semen?
That doesn't sound so bad to me.
I think I'm having this conversation with the wrong person.
