We used to have the ability to view our actualy scores, rather than rankings, but that was in the halcyon days before the Great Fall. Life was simple and happy then - we skipped and played in the green fields, surrounded by flowers and friendly furry animals, content that we could view our comic scores whenever we wanted.
Then came the Great Fall, the time of dakness which drove us from our homeland. I was only a young child, but I still recall fleeting memories of that terrible time. One clear image haunts my nightmares to this day - our village elder, Johnny, keeper of the scores, falling to his death from a cliff face, his descent followed closely by the black-winged creature which had caused the fall.
Now we live here, in our valley of sanctuary. Life is harder now, but we have escaped the monsters that roamed during the Great Fall. The soil is dry and unforgiving in our new home, and during the years of famine it is often hard to recall those sunlit days in the lands of our birth, and the freedom to see the scores our comic strips had earned. One day, perhaps, a hero will come among us who will lead us back. I have heard there is a prophecy, spoken by Johnny in the hours before his death, that a leader would arrive in our village from the wastelands. The details are unclear, but we watch for the signs.
