Sorry to interrupt the festivities with something this mundane, but I'm trying to unload some furniture -- actually, a whole living room set -- prior to my move into a new townhouse. I figured that maybe one of the Marylanders might be interested or know someone who is interested.

Here's a description of the living room set:

- one full-size, poofy, green couch
- one poofy, green loveseat
- one poofy, green chair
- one poofy, green ottoman
- 1 glass coffee table with neo-classical base
- 2 glass end tables with neo-classicial bases
- 2 non-descript large lamps

The material on the poofy pieces is sort of like velour. There is an ink stain under the seat cushions of the sofa, but otherwise the furniture is in very good shape. We hope to get $1000 for the whole set, but we are extremely willing to negotiate. OK, fine, let's start the bidding at $750. (I suck at this negotiation thing.) The whole set cost about $1800 when it was bought new 3 years ago.

If anyone is interested at all, I can post some photos of said living room set. If nobody is interested, I'll just curl up into the fetal position and cry...

How much after the donkey stains are removed?

Alas, this Marylander is not in a green poofy velour phase.

Maybe you should just paint the townhouse poofy green and then it'd all match.

You're from Maryland too? And boorite? And how many of you other yahoos? You're starting a cult aren't you?

We currently have two living room sets and only one small living room in the new townhouse. The big living room set (the one for sale) won't fit, poofy green or not. We'll probably end up having to give it all to GoodWill if we can't sell it.

In the late 80s I knew a dominatrix that liked to be called Mistress Maryland - 5'7" white skin and long black hair. She must be in her 40s by now - hard to imagine.

Is that your sister, wirthling?

How about I bring along a lovely 9-piece living room furniture set?

Advertise it on Yahoo's ads. We sold our furniture set, two TVs and two VCRs with no problem. Oh... and a car.

I'm sure that if you're thinking about giving it away somebody'll buy it for a few hundred bucks. And you could always burn it and claim it on your renter's insurance.

I'll have to work on that later. My wife placed an ad on Yahoo (thanks, Gabe).

Here it is.

Somehow my skewed color sense was thinking 'lime green' when you said green. These aren't half as bad as I thought. If I was in Maryland and furniture-less, I'd buy 'em.

I thought you were color blind.

Hmmm. Well, I can burn down Gabe's house, but I'm not sure how to get him to Maryland. I'll have to work on that angle.

Oh crap. Did I just type that out loud?

Hence the reason the first thing that pops to mind when he mentioned 'green' was Kermit the Frog. It's not like I see in black and white, just sometimes things get mixed up. Which is why my wife won't let me pick out my own clothes anymore.

My wife doesn't let me dress myself sometimes, but it's not because I'm colorblind. It's just that I'm stupid and have no taste. That's what she tells me, anyway.

My wife sometimes dresses me, but that's because I can't get the saddle on without her help.
