Wait, are we supposed to say "ur faves" OR just "comment on my comics," or the whole thing as one phrase?

Good question. Saying one OR the other has more of a sing-song quality when used as a chant (suitable for directing at a bowl of incense and summoning demons). I said the entire phrase, so I can't say if only one part of it gave my the euphoric hi I felt.

Easel, a clarification please.

I'm hung up on how to pronounce "ur".

I.e., a Norwegian.

My grandmother was Norse and my grandfather was worse. When they got into arguments - which was all the time - he would end it by calling her a damn swede.

I love how quickly we all rush to mock newbies. Such a big happy family.

Anyway, Deisel, to answer your frequently asked question:

It's not just entertainment, it's an important part of ensuring that only the strong survive. Of course, occasionally we scare off someone really nice, and occasionally we get some tenacious asshole like crabby who hangs on and sticks around... but for the most part, being mean to newbies is a time-honored and useful tradition.

No one even half-heartedly mocked me, never mind rushing to do so.
Incidentally, do u like my comic strips?

It has to do with the fact that you innocuously slipped in under the radar and just started trying to go with the flow instead of drawing attention to yourself. It's what *I* did as a newbie too.

Don't worry. We hate you both, too.

I was lucky to make it here before there was much of clique of elitist fucks. But now that I'm one of the elitist fucks, I don't care too much.

I'm with Drexle. The only newbies that bother me are the ones that draw attention to themselves, because usually it's a sign of a big ego, and often they don't even throw in some modicum of politeness like a "Please check out my strips". I also slipped in under the radar -- just found a thread I wanted to respond to and started posting -- and I have to say, my newbie experience here was one of the best I've had anywhere.

The few newbie delurks I've had in the past all went pretty well, mostly due to what you mentioned. It's kind of like hanging out at a bar and listening to a bunch of people you don't know talk.

If you wait a while, get the jist of what they're talking about, then add in a comment or two of your own in the right place at the right time, people just sort of accept you.

If you burst in to the middle of a conversation and ask someone if they want to look at your Elmer Fudd tattoo you might get beat up.

Today on Mystery Science Theater 3000, our heroes will be subjected to an "entertainment" so fiendishly fiendish that... well, see for yourself.

Yeah... I just posted a strip to a contest and let my genius speak for itself.

(Normally I keep my genius bound and gagged in a dark closet, but for this, I let him out.)

Boorite, you rule.

And I've never gotten to see a Mike episode of MST3K. In fact, even though I write MSTings, I've only seen about 12 episodes of the MST Hour, since I don't have cable. Sigh.

I had a big ego, but I used it to win me a comic contest right after I got here. Even when I didn't realize that I had to make the rules to the next one, the worst I got from anyone was "Hey! You're supposed to run the next contest!"

And now I've been here most of the time the Stripcreator's existed, so I'm in an unassailable position of, um...

Gee, actually I don't do anything. Wait, I'm the unofficial Newbie-tolerant Person. I don't even hate crabby. But that's because I like easy targets.
