Yo! Brad! Could you possibly change the posting replies so all the previous ones don't show up during the preview phase? Cause even with my DSL, it takes forever to load a page in the comic competitions pages (with all those comic entries and all...judging CC223 was a nightmare for loading pages) and I hate to think what those poor souls on dialup have to deal with. Just preview the post you (you=user) make rather than all the others along with it.

I would enter more comic competitions if I didn't have to set aside time to wait for the page to load.

I wouldn't just mind the option of bypassing the preview. Not all of us are as patient as thou, Brad.

I just tested it out and it's pretty quick here. Showing the rest of the thread is how pretty much all UBB-style message boards behave. Is anyone else having problems with this?

No, it should be left in. They are very handy, especially if you need to double check what someone said.

Even better, an option to skip the preview. Like what online postcard services use. Preview button and send button.

That's basically what I was trying to suggest.

I don't like that, people would just fuck everything up, and with no edit feature.

...and there's the other thing we need.

I'm on 56k and the comic competition pages are just unloadable for me. So a couple of months ago I enabled the "do not show comics in forums" feature on my Edit Account page and now the pages load lickety split. I just open each comic I want to read in a new window. It's a hassle, but not nearly as big a hassle.

You may want to think about doing it too if it's keeping you from entering comic competitions.

I don't find it a problem -- by the time I hit preview, it's all cached anyway. Now those vapid "Pictures of ..." threads are another story.

I can't even get to that point. My page will either take 5 minutes to open or it will freeze and crash my browser.

And, for me, those "Pictures of..." threads load slow, but not nearly as slow.

Go figure.

I like the preview option, but adding the save feature to the first reply page would be a good option. I would always use the preview feature, but for the people with slow-ass, neanderthal connections, this will save them the angst of waiting for the pages to load. Like ObiJo, because his comics are usually worth it.

I agree with the sentiment. Adding a direct "save" button, and an "edit" function would be nice. :D
