Okay, I have Big Evil Dave, uh, Dan and kaufman waiting to be drawn, and as far as I know I have no other outstanding requests for character art. However, the offer is open indefinitely. If you are a forum regular and want a character of yourself drawn up, just like in the forum_users character section in the strip creator, follow these rules...

1) Email me a picture or two, or URLs to the pics. The address is down in my .sig.

2) Try to keep any pics to send me under 50KB if you can, with 80KB being the upper limit.

3) Try to make the picture big, clear, and in colour. If the pic is B&W, small, or obscure, include a lot of text description to help me out.

4) If you don't have access to pics of yourself, you can send a detailed description of yourself. This is not the preferred option, but I'll do it if necessary.

5) In any case, include one or more suggestions for what you want your character to be wearing, and what pose you want it in, including colours. This doesn't have to be really detailed.

6) If you want a character, please email. I have a folder for these emails in my mail client, and I need to have them where I can read them easily. If I am trying to draw or colour, I don't want to be digging through the forum looking for details. Mention it on the forum, if you like, but make sure you email me directly if you are serious. Forum postings tend to get forgotten about.

I don't want to sound unfriendly at all - I enjoy doing this, and I am happy to include everyone who wants to be a part of it. As such, don't be shy - I won't bite. :)

Oh, LadyJ, this applies to you too. :)

Could you please choose a couple of pics that you feel capture the way you see yourself and email them (or their URLs) to me, along with a description of what you want your character to be wearing, and what pose you want her in.

Thanks. :)

There's no rule that says the forum_users art group is mine, so submit your self-portrait, by all means.

Did you check the "submit art" page for image specs? Oh, and did you reduce the GIF palette to the smallest possible number of colours to reduce the image file size?

The gif ended up being 5K... since he said not to send anything in larger than 500K packages, I figure it would be fine. I suppose I could try to make it smaller, though. How small are yours?

I would still actually think it a good idea if you did a portrait of me simply because it's consitent with the rest of the art.

In all seriousness Diesel, I think you would be well advised to make a better impression on the board before you ask to be immortalized as a character in the stripcreator. Because unless you like abuse, you're not going to enjoy seeing your likeness on here.

Just letting you know in advance.

DexX - I have those gif images Brad approved of using zipped into two separate files:

Bear.zip is 89kb
doc.zip is 113kb

I tried putting them on my f2s site, but they don't allow for downloads, even if I make a page with download links on it. Should I email them to you one at a time?

Once in the early 80s I got drunk on the worst of American beers, Old Style (some call it Dog Stool) and went to a White Castle burger joint around 3:00 AM. They have a thing there called a slider - a burger about the size of a saltine cracker fried with onions. It is so greasy it slides through your intestinal track. Well, I ordered a baker's dozen and ate them on the walk home.

The next morning I got up about 11:30, walked into my bathroom and emptied. I mean my rib cage sank. Suddenly I was hungry.

Deisel, you are welcome to that toilet seat.

What you sent me was just fine. However, I have had a shitty... well, month, culminating in having a collision with another car a few days ago. Sad fact about me is that I cannot do anything creative when I am really stressed or feeling down, and I am in a mix of both right now. As such, all outstanding character art requests might take a while. Sorry!

Let's see if I can remember. What wasn't the problem?

There was a clutch problem, which accounted for the shuddering. I would have reognized the sensation, except that a) I've blocked out all the times driving manual as being to traumatic, and b) that sensation never happened at anywhere near that high a speed. There were a bunch of other problems. Sam's dad has all the receipts and stuff in case something else major goes wrong.

As it stands now, I paid a little over $3000 for a 93 Taurus with 83,000 miles on it. If it ever stops having little things go wrong, I'll even go so far as to call it "in good condition". The color is a little pansyish, but I'll live.

By the way, the car has a name. Her name is Lola. No, she's not a showgirl.

Blecchh, of all the shitty luck! We had a similar (but cheaper) experience a few years ago when we bought (the late and lamented) George. I haggled and got it for a few hundred bucks less than the asking price because it didn't have a Roadworthy Certificate. Silly me... The electrics were buggered up, so it would not idle - whenever the revs dropped, it would stall. Turns out that the very nice job that had been done putting in a reconditioned head had been followed by the world's dodgiest rewiring job. The thing that really cost us some cash, though (apart from the actual RWC itself) was that it had been sitting in a driveway for untold months, and the brake mechanisms in all four wheels had rusted to shit. We had to put in four new callipers, plus new shoes and pads.

She also said... Would a blow job help?
Ohhhhh, crabby! C'mere!

Sure, I'm game - anything to stop him actually talking for a while...

And... I hope your life gets better soon.

It already has - you may have heard in the news about the seemingly endless numbers of Middle Eastern asylum seekers currently arriving in Oz by the boatload. Well, my wife has been offered a temporary but long-term promotion to help sort them all out. The cool thing about this, apart from the modest per-hour payrise, is that it will involve a lot of plane travel, and she'll get a hundred bucks a day whenever she has to go interstate, which will only be every few months but will be a week or two at a time. Yes, someone is looking out for us.

There is a weird thing that goes on in my family - we always seem to have strings of rotten luck, followed by a Deus Ex Machina of Wellsian proportions that makes everything okay. If only we could cut out the first step...

Oh, and Gabe said... Actually over here they're called Kellogg's Rice Zingers. The mascots for the cereal are Snip, Krinkle and Peep, who are these fat, little gnomes who wear pointy hats and masks and dance around with no pants on.

Cool - not too far off the mark, then.

That kind of stuff happens to me and my fam, too. Something about God (or the higher power, or fate, or whatever) only giving you just as much as you can actually handle. I suppose I should be pleased that I get so much utter crap handed me, because it means I can handle that much...

...and whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, yadda yadda blah blah blah.

There's something to that, though. I attribute some of my best characteristics to direct influence by some of the crappiest things that ever happened to me.

Yep. That's the song that came on the radio while I was driving it, and it seemed a decent enough name. The next song that came on was "Money" and I considered naming the car "Floyd", even though it has a female persona, as far as I can tell. I couldn't decide between the two so I asked my bf what he thinks and he liked Lola better.

One of my best friends owned a 94 mazda RX-7 twin turbo R-1. Sleek, Black, very very fast and powerful. We called her (if you experienced the car you would agree it was a her) Akasha after the Vampire Queen from Anne Rice's 'Queen of the Damned'. My other best friend named his green Ford f150 Gumby. I've personally never named a car, even though I love to work on classic musclecars.

Hmmmmm.... maybe... I have been thinking about alternative poses for the forum_users, but that is way off in the future, if it ever happens. Before that, I have to do one pose for everyone who wants one (you, for example) then the undersea characters, and then I want to try my hand at giving the forum one-noters characters of their own - Doctor Pedantic has many forms, and Captain Obvious is just begging for his own character...

Oh, and a bit of kaufman trivia - the markings on the cat are copied from one of his actual pet cats. :)
