As you know, umfum and I recently created the n00b comic contest, which went over way less well than we (or, I, at least) thought it would. DekayingMind's competition, the most recent one, isn't even in this forum. Many people also thought that n00bs can go ahead and win any contest. Zegota's win of FTC 35 is more than enough proof for this. So why don't we bring this to a close... with a bang?

Why not have a n00b of the year contest? This year we've had tons of great newcomers... graykane, biped, JESUSSANDWICH, Gabu, Zegota, DekayingMind, TooMuchCoffeeMan, iwillshankyou... the list goes on and on. I got this idea when I remembered smamurai saying something about how folks named him n00b of the year last year. Let's make this sort of thing legit. Let's have a n00b tournament. WHO WILL REIGN!!?!?

Of course, we'd have a set of judges, a legitimate theme, at least 16 users, and rules. You'd have to have joined by January 1st, for instance, in order to be considered a noob.

I think folks still count as noobs when they've just started showcasing their comics. For instance, I was a member for maybe two months last year before I started showing off my crap, and it's a damn good thing, because my first... eh... 60 or so comics really SUCKED.

BTW, Biped, is that the third BTC you've won so far? Damn.

I seem to do better when somebody else supplies the ending for me.

You can't really call it n00b of the year until the year is over. n00b of the first half, perhaps, but not the entire year.

I just thought that maybe since the ceremony didn't appear this January, that this month, we could go the route of the lame film awards and make it this month, even though we are two months ahead of their schedule.
