I fucking hate conservatives and their the country is fine the way it is attitude. The reason Bush is going to be elected again is because of all the godamned conservative assholes. I am just glad that I am not able to vote so my demographic wont be blamed for the country fucking exploding.

These fuckers are the worst: http://www.conservativepunk.com/

They say they are punks but go along with everybody else in the country.

You know, there's this new pill you can take that actually lets you disagree with people without seething with hatred for them.

Exactly. And while Mr. Biafra may disagree with the conservative punkers' politics, I'm sure he can see that they are thinking independantly, possibly more than the majority liberal punkers out there. This is the bullshit double-standard that turned me off of punk long ago. You can think for yourself, as long as you don't think too far to the right! Punk doesn't have to mean left-wing. It just means that you're free to be whatever the hell you want to be.

You mean Glen Danzig? Über Tough Monkey?

The one that got his hairy, loudmouthed ass handed to him by the singer for the North Side Kings?

Glen Danzig is one of those jackoffs who believes that acting like a total cunt 24/7 has something to do with "cred."

"Cred!"

Oh, Prunella...

Exactly but the punk mentality was origanally against the status quo and the government. It was a way to say "I reject the shit you are trying to force on me. It was a means of defining yourself not as a souless puppet of huge corperations.

"You still think swastikas look cool
The real nazis run your schools
They're coaches, businessmen and cops
In a real fourth reich you'll be the first to go"
- Dead Kennedys

Its a means of exposing the flaws of society.

When you agree with the society that the punk community disarees with and hates you are no better than the politicians who made the country this way.

You can listen to the music, just dont call your self a punk.

So the shit being forced upon punks is always a conservative bent? I'm sorry, I don't buy that. Calling yourself a punk is contradictory enough without having to connect yourself to some sort of anti-establishment ideal. Thinking for yourself means coming to your own conclusions about people and politics. If someone believes that George W. Bush is right, is their opinion any less valid than someone who wants to destroy society in some sort of anarchist paradise?

I agree with DragonXero, As ayn rand put it "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: the fashionable non-conformist.".

And no, I'm not conforming to her belief, I'd come to the conclusion myself and find that she put it elegantly enough.

The reasoning is that at least the conformists are being consistant and non-hypocrtitical, A nonconformist who is required to act like other nonconformists in fashion and in ways of art and culture, in order to fit in, is no longer an individual, rather, is part of a collective and professes that what they are part of is ok as long as it isn't the winning side.

The guy's name is Mr. Biafra? the same Biafra that is the name of the area of Nigeria that tried to gain independance from Nigeria several decades ago?

Whoever he is, he's taking the piss.

Jello Biafra. Former vocalist of the Dead Kennedys. He has moved on to other things, and now tours by himself, as do the Dead Kennedys. They recently came to Chico, but I declined to go to the show. The Dead Kennedys without Jello is just not the Dead Kennedys.

I think any "punk" that subscribes to any political belief exclusively is a complete hypocrite.
