For some reason, I can't seem to connect to the IRC server. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this problem, or if I'm alone in my craziness.

I tried to connect tonight and it brought down Trillian.

I think it's just us four-stars. Brad has decided to exile us.

Been having some really annoying server problems which will hopefully get resolved this weekend. IRC won't be back up until everything stabilizes a bit.

You don't have to lie to the four-stars, Brad. If you don't stand behind this random fascist decision, what's going to happen when you exile the three-stars?

IRC is back up, but it's on another server. irc.chatjunkies.org / #stripcreator. The Java client at www.stripcreator.com/irc/ should take you there.

I, again, am having some issues. Now, its not saying that its a server issue (because I know its not brad's problem at that point, but moreso ChatJunkies or whatever). Its coming up saying that there's no IRC to load. As in, it goes java.something.something no darkerirc log (or something like that). I like to be vague.

Are you trying to connect via stripcreator.com/irc/ or are you using a program like mIRC/Trillian??

I don't think progams like mIRC/Trillian use java.

Your right Decom, those progs arnt Java but most servers have irc.java.hostname.com or whatever so I thought maybe she was trying to connect to one of them.

I don't think I've ever seen irc.java and I've been on probably over a thousand servers.

I've been able to connect to IRC via http://www.stripcreator.com/irc

also, were I to use mIRC, it was never java.stripcreator.irc or whatever it was that you had typed. mIRC doesn't use java.

java.webchat.org, That works in mIRC despite it not being Java.

You're right. One server which based on it's name I would assume runs off a java applet anyway certainly means most have java in the adress.

Irc.webchat.org
webmaster.webchat.org
nexus.webchat.org

They all work, and there's a few more I can't remember, java.webchat.org is just one of their servers.

And can a server just run off a java applet, I thought you had to load the server onto the applet via conference room so something like that!??

A server can't actually run off a java applet. What I meant was, since the host had webchat in it, I assumed their server is meant for use in a java applet.

If a server is already running, it can go through a java applet without doing anything. The server isn't actually loaded onto the applet, the server's activity is just relayed into the java applet. ie: brad probably just downloaded his somewhere, typed in irc.chatjunkies.org on where to connect to, uploaded it and it worked. But th
