I don't know where all this negative press towards drummers comes from. It's a well known fact that Freud, Einstein and Newton all played the drums.

They tend to be easy targets. Once you have coordination and rhythm down, it doesn't take much brainpower to play the drums. Good drummers (Buddy Rich, Keith Moon, etc.) are a different story cause they can use advanced techniques very well.

It's also a well-known fact that fish heads don't play drums.

Well, actually I'm a metal guitarist, and for the most part, I try to use as much technicality in my music as any pianist.

Huh, huh, I said "pianist". That was pretty cool.

I should also mention that the band I'm part of (not actually in, I'm a guitar tech) has centered it's attacks on one member. The drummer. I do get a lot of shit (being the lowly guitar tech, a step above a lowly roadie), but he gets more. His name is Mike, but they call him Willy. I find myself making fun of him at times. Then I get made fun of. All is good.
We all went to San Fran over the weekend, and you can imagine the jokes poor Willy had to suffer ;)
He was trying to get us to go down Castro Ave. so that the other two who'd never been with them and I could see the street. If you've never been down Castro Ave. in San Francisco, it's rainbow flags left and right for blocks and blocks. We didn't go, but it sure brought up some fun jokes, especially with Willy being the one who brought it up.

I'm getting DX a string-winder for Christmas.

Hey, what gauge strings do you favor? I think anything less than .11s is weak.
