How about this one?

The first makes me want to get in a heated argument about quantum theory, the second = kinda lame, the third one is absurdist enough to almost be funny (I think it would have been better with no alien-speak).

The fourth one is equally created(and not yet posted) and not created until I click on your username. BULLSHIT HUMAN EGOTISM

#1 might make sense, but I don't see how quantum superposition follows from the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment. I don't think it does. Then again, four years have elapsed since my cursory overview of quantum theory. It's also not funny.

#2 only makes some sort of sense because I've read portions of Hofstadter's 'Godel, Escher, Bach.' And...it's still not funny.

#3...as with #1 and #2, only it makes even fewer pretensions of intelligence.

Look at it this way: at least you can spell and take criticism. Which puts you ahead of most new strippers. :)

Thanks for your comments. I'm just humbly trying to raise the bar around here.

But trust me - most of the Schrodinger's cat dialog is ripped off a web site that explains quatum indeterminacy . Complain to them, if you can't dig it. Or, see if you can't channel Schodinger and give him a whine.

It's not my fault if you are so religeosly parochial that you don't know a great Zen joke when it bites you on the ass (Sit, Ruffie! Don't bitet!).

I don't get your critique of Guitar Player - unlike Schrodinger, it has no intellectual content and is not "difficult," and like Zen Comics, it has has nothing to do with Goedel Escher and Bach. Maybe you need to look at again.

I'm sorry to give your review such a bad review. Keeping working, though - you might achieve a breakthrough!

I swear, I say this very thing to some unsuspecting fool NEARLY EACH DAY. It's my favorite compliment!

Although, usually when I use this phrase I don't smile afterward...its more of a vacant leer while fumbling for my wallet.

Thanks again for the comments, Reverend. Is spelling a big problem in comics where there are (ideally) few words?

Did you give me a good rating?

I made a contribution, so when Brad gets me on the board, I'll be rating others! Pretty cool, huh?

I am a polite newbie, so please don't take this as a threat, anybody! Ha Ha!

Thanks for your thoughtful comments, guys.

Me, I'm looking for a goal to set. Let's say you are an old-timer with tons of experience, lots of (virtual) ink under your fingernails, and thousands of strips. What's your batting averege? What's the % of really good, OK, and dog shit strips for someone like that?

Eh?

I'd say 10% of my strips are really funny, 80% will at least make me smile, and 10% are real stinkers. Classic bell curve.

But that's my own opinion of myself. Other opinions may vary.

I think you are a polite person, which gets points in my book, but I don't really like your comics. Like someone above said, I feel like they don't really have much of a punchline, and doing a little spelling and grammar check before would help a lot. But hey, I can't rate, so bully for you!

Cowtipper, thanks for the spelling heads-up. Even though you cannot rate me, I made a small donation, and can now rate you.

Ha Ha.

There were spelling errors in True Science Comics! Since I ripped off the exposition from a web site, my first impluse was to blame them, but, my ethical postion as a polite newbie requires that I suck it up and do a mea culpa. And because I made a donation, I was able to go back and fix it. So now you can really dig it! Except I didn't see any grammer errors that weren't intentional.

As for your other critical remarks, perhaps they are merely your opinions?

I had no idea what the fuck Schroedinger's Cat was until Douglas Adams explained it so wonderfully in "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency".

He said the experiment was merely a vehicle to prove that the possibility waveforms immediately collapse when the box is opened. Meaning that, basically, the possibilities are endless until you open the box and see what actually happened, and what didn't.

Exactly, MG! Thank you for your cogent comment!

Strips can have different target audiances. True Science Comics didn't go over very well here, but people with a strong science background might find it funny. Same with Zen Comics, which is pretty esoteric, but I think people people familiar with the topic would like it.

It's hard to make a strip with broad appeal, but a "niche" strip is also difficult.

Thank you, PhreakyChinchilla, for your very honest apraisal of my work. If you just don't like it, what can I say? It takes all kinds, and that's what makes America great! My advice is: do yourself a favor and don't look at it again.

As a polite newbie, my feelings can't be hurt. For them to be hurt, I'd have to care what you thought, and I don't even know you.

Food for thought: If frogs grew fur, chinchillas would be safe from coat makers.

BigFrank, is that you? If it is, did you know you have a wandering right eye? Well that's what it looks like. Just a teeny bit wall-eyed - can't tell exactly where it's pointed? But it's probably not serious. I just point it out in case you have been having vision probelms. If so, maybe you should see an eye doctor.

On your "edit account" page, there's an option that says "Display Comic: Select the comic you wish to show on your comics page." If you don't select one, then your latest comic will always appear on that page. You posted the URL of your comics page, which does not contain the identifying number of any particular comic.
