Donors can now make "sets" of comics, so you can group comics into series. This feature is still in beta, so please report bugs or problems.

Donors should see a "create set" link under their comics now. Click that and you can name and describe your set and select the comics you'd like to be included in it. Click save and you'll be forwarded to your newly created set of comics. Here's an example of what one looks like:

http://www.stripcreator.com/comics/BigEvilDan/sets/tata/

You should also see an "edit set" link when viewing a set that you're the author of. You can see a list of all a user's sets on their user info page.

As I said this is still a work in progress, so feel free to report bugs or suggest things. I haven't yet decided where the sets should be featured (I'd like them to be more prominent than they are now).

Brilliant Feature!!! Are you going to create a separate drop down menu for peoples sets on their main comics page, or will we just need to use links in our profiles?

Cheers again.

I just saw a freaking huge silverfish run across my comics page.

I was going to ask the same thing about the sets. It's kinda hard to keep track of 'em. Any way we could get that dropdown, or at least some links on a personal page so we can whore- I mean, link them out?

I'm thinking about putting a list of a user's sets where the favorites are and maybe demoting the favorites to the user info pages. But I haven't decided yet.

You can view all the sets on the site here:

When I click on a username in that list, the page I go to always says "user not found". Might be because there's a trailing slash in the URL.

I vote "yes" on this one.

Brad,

I was working on building a set, and accidentally hit the link on the set creation page to one of my comics. When I went back, all the hard work I'd put in scouring hundreds of comics for the ones to group together was gone without a trace.

Do you think it would be possible to change the comic links on the set creation page to Open-In-New-Window?

Of course, the next thing we'll want is the ability to go back and edit the sets, and change the order to something other than the creation order.

That sucks, does shift-click not open in a new window in your browser?

I can add this as the default behavior if everyone wants it, I just tend to like to leave the control in the user's hands.

Oh, it probably does.

But accidental-click certainly does not :-(

I think it would be a convenient way of doing things to make it auto open in a new window. I'd be fine with that. Creating those sets and keeping track of what you want in them is a mind-taxing job. Being careful not to click a comic link is just a bit difficult to remember. I think that's a cool idea.

Also, I can't wait to see the sets listed per user.

Due to popular demand, the links now open in new windows.

I don't see the 'comic sets' option when I edit my account.

It would be fantastically awesome if we could save new comics to premade sets... for instance, if I were to make a new entry to an old series, I could just save it to that set rather than go to the set, edit it, and fish through the 870-odd comics I have to find the right one.

Still.

I'm not a backwoods retard. What is it I'm missing? How do we put in sets of comics? Where can I find loose Asian girls?

Answers to all these questions would be appreciated.

The "create set" link is under the drop-down menu on your comics page.

Loose Asian girls can be found here. There is also a button to turn them into a goat and a snowman in a fast-food restaurant, if you're into that sort of thing.

When you're reading a users strips, is there a link such as "read more of this set" or something of the sort? Does it display anywhere which set the strip is part of? Obviously it does this if you are looking via the sets page, but if you go in through a users front page or a link in the forums, random, toprated, etc, does it do it? If not I think it would be a neat feature.

This has been suggested and I think it's a good idea. I'm working on it, so hopefully it'll be done soon.

I don't know if this has been addressed or not, but I thought I should point out that we can order the sets any way we wish if we simply number them, starting from 10 (as 2 is listed between 19 and 20 alphabetically).

You know what I'd like to see... top-rated sets, like we have top-rated strips. Is that in any way a possibility?

And instead of being based on the rating of the set itself, it was rated on the rating of the comics within it.

Or both, whatever, see if I give a shit.

If a comic belongs to a set (or multiple sets), you should see it displayed underneath the comic now.

Deleting comics that are in sets should remove them from the sets that the comic was in now. Before it would leave a dead comic entry.

Brad

And deleting sets is now in, it's another option in your donor function menu when you're viewing one of your sets. It asks you for confirmation with a javascript popup.

Let me know if there are any problems with that.
