Ewwwww
June 20, 2005 9:19 AM

George Lucas is going to start re-releasing all six Star Wars films, 1 per year, starting in 2007. Except there will be one difference. They are all going to be in 3D.

:l

Oh, and he is also going to be doing a TV series that will take place in the 20 years between the two trilogys. Then he plans to go and do one about the Star Wars universe after episode 6.

:l

George Lucas is officially the Eddie Murphy of Directing. A Bunch of films, but the same characters every time.

:l

If you count the remastered re-releasing of the original three in 1997, this makes a total of 15 times you would have seen the words "Star Wars" on a movie poster.

:l

PS: If you dont believe me, here are some sources:
:l
:l
:l

PS: He is also doing another flick on Indy Jones and his Scotish Paw.

Weren't there supposed to be nine episodes of this rubbish? Or is he going to do the next three and then rerelase them ALL?

Or is he just waiting for Mark Hammil to turn 60 so he can properly play his role in episode 7?

i always heard that there were 9 too. but then i read a time magazine recently titled 'The Last Star Wars' where he talks about how it's so nice to bring closure to the series and how he won't be doing any more star wars except that tv show. he made it sound like it was always slated as 6. so now i'm confused.

Yeah, I heard Lucas acknowledge that it was originally 9 episodes, but after he did Jedi, he realized the story arc worked better as the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker and that parts 7 through 9 would have sent the saga in a different direction that he didn't think made all that much sense given the first 6. If he's downplaying 7-9 now, it's probably a little bit revisionist history, but probably more him wishing people would stop asking if he's going to make episodes 7-9.

I watched the AFI tribute to George last night. It was nice to see him acknowledge that his dialogue is wooden. It was also funny to see Harrison Ford say "Let's do another Indy flick before Sean Connery is too old." Beyond that, it just made me sad.

The only thing that could make me want to see Star Wars 7-9 would be Harrison Ford and a lot of Harrison Ford. Han Solo is the only person who can save the franchise now...

I've found a site where a lot of people would disagree with you:

We both know who the true savior of the Star Wars franchise is.

Mehh. I liked him better in the wing commander games.
Speaking of which, the movie was atrocious.

I'm more fond of him as the Joker.

There was that whole Trickster nonsense in the old Flash live action TV show, but that bodysuit was really scary.

I like 'em all in varying degrees. Episode 1 was decent, Episode II could have gone a little easier on the lovey-dovey shit and Episode III could have done without Hayden in the Vader suit. But other than that, they were good movies.

episode I was so so. jarhead binks nearly ruined it but the kid they got to play anakin saved it. episode II was my favorite of the latest trilogy, maybe the hole thing i'll have to go back and watch the original 3. ditto on the lovy shit. if it was so important to the plot why wasnt padme in more of episode III? the last one was a let down. it was OK but i was thinking it was goin to be awesome. there were a lot of things that made me go 'bull fucking shit' like anakin stranglin padme when his whole motivation had been to save her, and yoda saying 'i have failed i must go into hiding'. i was thinking, OR you could turn your little green ass around go back inside kick the emperors ass and save the galaxy 17 years of tyrany. the fact that vader wouldnt look for his kid bothered me too. someone said, well his visions didn't show if the kid lived so he probably assumed it was dead. that didn't really make sense. then i realized that the emperor told vader he'd killed padme in a rage so then it made sense that he'd think the baby was dead. still doesnt make sense why the emperor didnt know though assuming vader mentioned something to him about his wife being pregnant in the 17 years after episode III and before episode IV.
