I think there should be a set minimum number of comics a user has to have before he or she can be rated. I keep seeing people rating new users bad after they make like 3 comics, just because those first strips were so awful. Seriously, everyone's early strips are awful.

I think this will give the forums a lot happier atmosphere, and will improve newbie morale 60%. Because, really, no one likes seeing zero stars next to their name when they've barely started. It'll help people to stick around for a while without feeling like everyone totally hates them. It'll also help prevent aliases or shitty friends of donors from accumulating 5 stars immediately.

Your username doesn't fit you at times like this man. I like this idea, actually.

I refuse to work with this man. He keeps breaking character.

Nah.

It takes a lot for me to rate a newb bad, but when I do, it's always for more than just unfunny comics. Remember, we can always change our ratings later if the user chooses to redeem himself.

Straighten up and fly right, now.

It's a neat idea, but how big of a problem is this? I guess I'd have to see some examples of this happening before I implemented a solution.

But my alias isn't doing anything wrong and will never have more than 3 comics.

I admit that sometimes I've viewed a user's info page and seen that the rating I gave them months ago no longer applies, there are some people out there who may be due a good rating but I've just never got round to correcting my initial mistake (although, there are people who I've mistaken as being awesome after a few comics).

It's a good idea, but I don't think it matters all that much.
