there are 2 types of ratings. ratings you see in the forums and user pages, and individual ratings per comic. both have three possible ratings - bad (0) - okay (5) - good (10). only comic ratings count for the top rated list. the user/forum ratings are what you see under your name and are kind of intentionally unclear i think. i use it to rate both comics and forum stuff. some people use it to rate one or the other. you smell like brocolli

I thought it was just supposed to be about the strips. One of the things I hate about those ratings is that about a week after I joined, I had two ratings, but 0 stars, so I assume some people rated me 0, but they didn't bother to comment and explain why. So now even when I get good member ratings, they're dragged down by those two anonymous zeros which for all I know could have been some assholes just going through newbies and sabotaging their ratings for cheap thrills.
