I just wanted to share with everyone that I have been an aunt since 10:03am this morning. His name is Jonathan Daniel. 20 inches long and 7lbs, 20oz. :)

Sweet. Feels kinda weird, doesn't it? It wasn't until a few months after I married my wife that I realized that since her brother has a daughter, I was an uncle.

Heh

Im 26 , have a 25yr old sister , and a 21yr old brother , and the prospect of the lineage of this family being continued by any of us is enough to bring down a NATO Airstrike on this abode.

I have six sisters and two brothers (yes, Catholic - how did you guess?) and a few weeks ago one of my younger sisters gave birth to her first child, but my fourteenth niece/nephew.

My wife commented today that she became an instant aunt when she married me.

I have four cute cuddly little niece beasts. Two from my brother (poor kids), and two from my sister (cute little things).

There's nothing to match the feeling you get from unconditional baby love.

I need to stop reading so fast. I read...

I have four cute cuddly little nice breasts.

This is making me remember fun times with my uncle. I saw him very rarely, but when I did see him, my sister and I would climb all over him. He'd say, "I love my nieces to pices!". Then I'd say, "I love my uncle to skunkle!".

Then there was the time I jumped on his lap with my shoes on and he yelled, "My pecker!" and I demanded to know what a pecker was.

Pisces? Like the sign of the Zodiac? That has an s in it.

Me too. Then I thought two from his brother (poor kids)? And two cute ones from his sister? WHAT THE SHIT? But then I caught on and the images left me.

I have 3 nieces and one nephew that are all young 'uns, ages 2 to 7. They are all so happy and sweet.

Sometimes I think it's only kids that keep me from writing the whole human race off as doomed. (For further reading on the apocalypse, check out Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and BAM!, and my manifesto.)

My eldest nephew turned eighteen in April - I was only nine when he was born. My youngest ...nephew? Damn, it was a few weeks back, and I can't remember if she had a boy or a girl... anyway, not yet a month old.

My family's similar. Other than the four I mentioned before, I have four more nephews and one more niece ranging in ages from 17 to 24. (I was an uncle at age 2.)

I consider all of them more my cousins than my nephews and nieces though. It's too freaky to think of someone two years younger than you as your nephew.

I don't know how my youngest sister thinks of our eldest nephew. You beat her, Obi - she was four when he was born. Like you, I think she condiers him to be like a cousin. To me, is a kind of like the little brother I never had. We have a family friend with fifteen kids, and the youngest ones have nephews and nieces who are older than them. What a whacky concept...

Condiers = 4am version of "considers".

I think it is time for bed.

I was thinking about that possibility as I was typing about becoming an uncle at age two before.

That would be too weird. Having your nephew teach you to drive, or having your niece buy you liquor when you're 19. We're almost entering into Alabama famial territory.

By the by, HOW THE HELL DO YOU SPEALL FAMIAL? I was thinking famial, famile or famille, but can't seem to find it on any of the dictionary pages I usually use and it's PISSING ME OFF.

I'm okay now.

I may not have any family, but I don't have precocious kids tapdancing on my nutsack and calling me "skunkle", either.

Bah! Humbug!

Boy I was way off. Thanks.

Just what you'd expect from someone who once lost a district spelling bee on the word picnic.

You know what though? I just looked up picnic and an alternative spelling IS picknick. One of my most traumatic childhood moments was all a judge's mistake. Argl.
