Maybe I shouldn't have posted that picture. Now you all know I was a Neilson TV home and affected the television ratings.

I was too, for a while. I kept inviting people over to watch Gorgeous Ladies of Wresting.

No. Really.

Uh-oh, is that what that remote was for? We may have adversely skewed your preferences for soccer, violent films and cartoons.

Kidding, I had no idea what that was.

chicka, I have a small question that's off-topic. Since you have the Nielson's remote/box, does that mean that the ratings we see after a TV show airs is all the Nielson boxes that tuned in? Or is it everyone? I'm sorry, it's just that I really don't know HOW tv ratings are obtained.

Love, Basic.

:)

I have no idea how it works exactly. I know that the box goes through a modem and downloads your viewing information to florida and then they determine if a show is a loss or a profit. I don't have the box anymore, but I still have the information somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Thanks, I always wondered if my viewing of a show mattered, or if it was only the people who had the nielson boxes.

You can always let the networks know how you feel about certain shows by emailing or snail mailing them. They like to get people's opinions, especially since Neilson is random and usually only in apartment complexes.

I thought standing naked outside of the Showtime HQ for a week in order to get them to bring back Dead Like Me would work, but instead it gave me shrinkage, the flu and 800 hours of community service.

True fact: The average 1-year-old is in the 73rd percentile of Nielsen families as far as intelligence goes.
