So I got my taxes done today. I know, I know, usually I have them in mid-January, but I've been busy. I also get everything back and then some.

So, how 'bout you guys?

I have an appt. with the accountant next week. I wont get a return considering the fact that I am a private contractor and get no taxes deducted through the year. I will be paying about twice as much as last year I expect since I worked twice as long.

Nate just got his W2s from his other job today, his other W2s came in maybe a week ago. Mine were both in by the 15th. Oh the joys of filing jointly. Taxes to be turboed between Saturday and Monday.

Good, you can loan it to me to pay the roughly $900. I'm gonna owe. I have a lot working against me this year, last year got back over $3,000. Crap.

I'm still needing some of my theatre W-2s in the mail. Hopefully any day now. Bleeding slackers.

I just got a nice big cheque from the Tax Man for all the money he wrongly raped from me over a year ago.

My liver will soon need replacing as a result of the celebrations.

I don't have to pay taxes this year since I worked the entirety of 2005 in a tax-free combat zone. Go me.

£300 rebate. And I didn't have to do a thing. Maybe if I had done them it would have been £500 but I think I'm on PAYE and besides, I'm a lazy lazy man.

I got the smallest rebate ever in my life. $350 bucks. Last year I made exactly $400 less and got back $650 bucks. But see, I'm in a higher tax bracket now. Therefore I can afford to not get as much. Because I made a huge $13k for the year. Wowee. I'm rolling in it. I mean, I eat once per day and can barely pay my rent and bills and I usually run completely out of money by monday or tuesday, but... I'm in a higher tax bracket! Woohoo! Thanks, government! I can't go to a doctor when I'm sick, but I can pay for the guy next door and his 10 kids! No problem! What, you need more uranium tipped bullets? Hey, let me take care of that, I got plenty!
I think I'm going to take this $350 windfall and just SPLURGE. I might pay half a bill with it or something, since it's not enough to fix my computer, which is what I was planning on using it for.
Now I'll go back to drinking cheap beer, which now costs one dollar less than premium beer at 7-11, so they can squeeze an extra couple of bucks out of poor people who can only find relief in a couple of cold ones after a hard day's work. Ahhh. The land of oppertunity.

One summer I worked for the government and while still under poverty level for the year, I was a student so it was a lot of money. Because of that, I was due almost a grand back in taxes. What I didn't discover until it was too late was that my mother decided to claim me as a dependant on her taxes since I was just about to turn 24 and would no longer be eligible. And she filed before me. So I filed and not only did I get a nice letter from the IRS saying it's not nice to defraud the government, my total return was $40.

Thanks mom. Really.

Last year I would have gotten almost $600 but one bank was refusing to let a check I wrote another bank clear, despite funds being available and by the time the smoke cleared, my return, which was electronically deposited, was completely used up in fees.

These days I'm burying my money in a jar in the backyard.

The small amount of beer I will be able to afford keeps me from rioting...for now.
