Being a college-age alcoholic I am the master of getting drunk by noon. Hangovers at night-time are easier to handle as well, cuz then you can just go back to sleep without having to worry about work or school or all that dumb life shit.

Once I was at another campus and drank "Gordon's Vodka" which was 10 dollars for a handle. And with beer, there's always the BEAST.

Well, Big F... I am what one would call a connoisseur of bad booze, and during all five of my brain-damaging years at college I have drunk many a cheap turpentine subtitute. Probably is, if it's bad I don't remember it. I've had Russian vodka that came in a container that looks like a nuclear warhead (Red Rocket Vodka maybe?). The worst recurring liquor I have is Zhenka Vodka which comes in 9 dollar handles and could peel paint off a wall. In terms of beer, I'm a big 40's guy. So I've had Colt, Hurricane, Bull Ice, OE... all the ghetto shit. And then there's the horror that is Natty Ice.

Probably is= Problem is.

I once decided to make beer. My parents always did, so I figured it would be a fun experiment. I anticipated my beer would be absolute shit and I'd have to pay people to drink it. Especially when I named it "Hair of the Cat" because I couldn't guarantee that there wasn't going to be cat hair in it.

Instead, everyone loved it so much they offered to pay me good money for it.

I gave it away for free. There were some happy college guys that night.

My dad tried to make beer. It sploded.

FYI for you vodka fans. did you know that if you run the cheapest, nastiest vodka through a Brita water filter 2-3 times it'll come out smooth as Goose?

just a tip for alcohlics on a budget.
then you can pour it into high end vodka bottles and no one will ever know the difference.

Mad dog is not bad for 3-cent wine. At the risk of mentioning bunnerabb again like I do in every one of my lame posts... he got me into trouble one morning in 8th grade with a bottle of that stuff, or Boonesfarm (can't remember - it's what happens when you're ancient). The teacher told me to take my jacket off, so I stood up and tripped on the desk leg, fell flat on my face and swore. Nobody ever mentioned or noticed that we were blitzed, but I apparently broke the law by wearing my jacket.

I knew that "filtering vodka" thing had to be bullshit. I once bought vodka that was quadruple distilled and it still tasted bad.

In the end, if you think that the vodka tastes better after filtering it several times through a water filter, then I guess it's all worth it for you. Just don't go handing it to someone who has really delicate tastes when it comes to alcohol.

Cheap vodka tastes as good as expensive vodka when you're drunk off your ass.

Pretty much, it's not supposed to have any flavor at all.

Problem is, cheap vodkas to have a flavor to them, and it's nasty.

There is something to be said for jug vodka though. You don't mix Grey Goose with orange juice. That's a waste of good liquor. Cheap vodka, like cheap whiskey, cheap gin, cheap tequila and other cheap liquors, is made for mixing.
