Sebra, I'll be the first to admit that sometimes redbrute's allusive style of humor might go over the head of a non-native speaker of English. For example, the following strip is a clever alloy of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and the perennial NBC-TV ratings monster "Battle of the Network Stars":

Note the juxtaposition of Rabelaisian grotesquerie with postmodern elements that can only be termed polysemous. It is this whimsical melange of period tropes and indeterminacy that makes redbrute's comics both a writerly and a readerly text. And you must admit, that's rare.
