my sister just lost everything in a flood in ohio.
luckily all my family were evacuated by boat from their second floor, including the family dog, but everything in the basement and first floor was destroyed as well as the 3 family cars.

god is a prick and will pay for this.

I moved out of Ohio last week, and this is the first I've heard of this soggy-cellared abortion of science and nature collided.

Nothing ever happens in NorCal. We're too far up for earthquakes, too far down for heavy snow, too far inland for any sea-related issues, too small a valley for tornadoes (though small ones occasionally form and destroy someone's motor home), too high up for flooding (though just to the east of us, Hamilton City can get flooded if the river gets too high), too far east for hurricaines, and we rarely get droughts.
Boring place to live, but at least it's relatively safe.
