ok, so i just saw a preview for jet li's new movie fearless and at the end the manly voiced announcer says "jet li's final martial arts epic."
anyone know what the deal is with that?
is he dead? is he only doing romantic comedies from now on?
does he have parkinson's?

what gives?

I think they've decided to market it that way hoping it will generate enough buzz to only be a dissapointment rather than a full blown flop at the box office.

I googled it and google pretty much said he isn't retiring.

Bruce Lee was an actor. He made a dozen films from age 7 to 18. I can't seem to find them on utube though.

I watched a great thing on the evolution of martial arts in the cinema on Showtime the other night. From that really choreographed, dancing style (counter-counter-counter), to Bruce Lee's one punch knock out style, to Jackie Chan's clowning style. Pretty fascinating stuff. I never really was more than a casual fan of martial arts movies, well, unless they're on wires, but it was pretty enjoyable.

Whenever I'm locked in battle with some evil despot or criminal mastermind, I look to Legend of Drunken Master for inspiration.
