There's a ton of art in there, and then there's injokester's thread over in Photoshop Valley. A lot of art is floating around.

Is that to say that if I submit art of me it will go in 'forumusers"?

Behold, Brain Pan Larry and his little Jack Russell, Bisquits:

Plus my Godot background:

Oh, wait a minute! Bisquits needs more work - that must be his evil littermate looking right. I'll fix later tonight.

There's some of my stuff here, and I'm going to push for the images on the top of this page again. What can I say? I'm proud of my work and I think they'd be a nice addition.

I must say I'm a fan of HCRoyall's, Bolo's and Injokesters stuff, and I'd love to see them all added (I know thats probably not possible though)

I'm just a whore for more art

This is quite crap, I mocked it up to see whether it would work, Im sure one of our resident artists could tweak or play with the idea, essentially I thought it would be a useful addition.

It looks like people sitting outside of an airplane as it flies through the sky.

yeah I couldn't get the original shading right, and trying to come up with the insides of a plane is beyond me and would need someone with l33t potatoshop skills, or a good eye. The size was how big it would need to be to accomodate standard characters, whether this means bumping it up a bit, or adding a luggage rack I dont know.

I seem to remember someone mentioning a car character at one time. If I recall correctly here's what was said about the idea -

attitudechicka  "I second the car idea"

mmyers said "I third the car idea"

crabby was heard to retort "Can someone just throw something together to show him how rediculous this would look"

Injokester was alleged to have muttered under his breath "It's a brilliant idea, and it can be done, but I'll be damned if I'm doing it..."

I drew

Injokester may or may not have said "I'm happy to clean it up, add some characters, resize and reformat it, etc... but I can't do it for another 9 hours or so when I finish work."

I said "SCROE!!!"

Injokester did

[/

Squid said "Those cars are the kickass!"

Inny said " none of these were my idea, Smamurai thought up the whole thing and drew the original car... "

Now, how about a robot called TungStan?

Don't add anything from my PV topic, it's all crap. I'm currently re-drawing everything I've ever done.

All my newest characters are here: http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g245/Bob_Toomy/New%20Characters/ (there are subfolders as well). Some are updated versions of the characters I've already got on here, but I'd prefer these versions if possible.

I've also got a bunch of new backgrounds that I need to convert to JPEG and some more characters that need to be formatted as well. I'll need a couple days to get everything finished off though, but I'll get it done as soon as I can.

Those look fantastic, Injokester. Huge improvement!

I'm still considering the best way to combat character clutter in the interface, but I've got a few ideas.

Thankyou!

And a suggestion- add another drop down for background categories, and one for which direction the character is facing (thus halving the character lists).

Those are both ideas I've wanted to do for a while though they require an overhaul of the way SC stores its data, which is tricky. Gonna see what I can do though.

That's how create-a-strip did it if I recall correctly and it was clunky to me. I like how it is now, but then again, I'm used to it.

BTW, I love Injokester's new backgrounds! I might make some comics about working in an office if we had those.

Do you mean the background category pulldowns or the left-right thing? Or both?

I like the backgrounds.  Would still like to have a kitchen one, though.  And the airplane one would be fine if the sky was just replaced with a ceiling.

The kitchen one and some of the others suffer from not working well with characters with feet.

How about a background that looks like a YouTube screen.

Or one that's is an interpretation of a blog, with a guy sitting in the middle so that when you place the speech bubble either side of his head it's like we are reading what he has blogged. You kids are still calling them blogs right? I didn't just make that word up did I?

How about some sort of Land of the Giants set?

How about a garage. You know, the sort of place where kids might play hacky/footbag

Or a lab with two giant pods filled with green bubbling liquid with some sort or creatures inside, again the speech bubble could be used with just the background alone.

The rest of the characters I have ready are now available from the link I posted yesterday, and there's another sub folder for the backgrounds. I've still got more to do, I'll see what I can get done tonight and tomorrow, after that they'll have to wait a week while I'm on holidays.

Brad, I'll e-mail you a file with everything before I leave.

Great, thanks. Do you care whether they get put online for everyone or just for donors? I haven't decided where they'll go (I'm thinking about a big art reorganization), so I'm just checking.

Either way, I'm not too worried. I've just sent you a couple e-mails with everything to date.

I scored free Cat Empire tickets for tomorrow arvo, so this is probably everything until I get back in a week. I'll look forward to seeing some new art available ^_^

If anyone needs an idea for character designs. How about a man in chains...placed higher up so it would look like he was held on a prison wall, and a man in black hood with whip?

As for a background, how about one of the exterior houses with fire or smoke coming out of the window or door?

(I have issues at work.)

There are a few backgrounds that are defying my attempts at categorization, such as "undersea" and "ship". Rural? Inside?

Instead of "basic" I think I'll make a "misc" category, which has the colors, basic backgrounds as well as backgrounds like the explosion and the inside/outside phone splitter.

Is there now or will there ever be a way to impose the splitter over a background other than plain white?

The characters look great. I love the older, professor-type guy on page three. And the backgrounds are simply awesome.
